We entered our girls into Thacher in the upper elementary school (grades 4-6) this past fall. While…read moreone of our daughters is having a very positive experience, our other daughter has been having a less positive one. She has dyslexia along with some other learning issues, which we made very clear to the school during our application. Her teacher, Amy Smith, seems both unwilling and unable to work with students who don't learn in the normal fashion. Amy has been very difficult to work with: she doesn't communicate well and she doesn't follow through on things she says she'll do. With the exception of one administrator, the school has been completely unsupportive of us and our issues. We will be withdrawing both our daughters from the school next year. I would recommend Thacher upper grades for students who are bright, quick, and self-motivated learners. If your child isn't all of those, I would highly discourage you from choosing Thacher. Certainly if you run into problems, you won't find support from the administration. We were warned by a family who had a very similar issue last year. Their daughter was also dyslexic, also had Amy Smith, and also had a horrible experience with the administration. They withdrew their daughter mid-year (forfeiting their tuition) because their daughter was so miserable.

Kim was incredible to work with, and we, as parents learned much about child development from her. She's tremendously organized and made this the easiest childcare could possibly be. Meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack) are included, as well as diapers and wipes! It made mornings a breeze not having to pack a bag full of things. We miss Kim and her wonderful environment. They were friendly, polite, and very well behaved during our visit. I knew that since she raised her own kids to be so well behaved, she would have the same impact on my kids. Kim has a large daycare space in her home in Hyde Park. She has tons of toys, books, and games that she's constantly rotating in and out. She has also set up an awesome outdoor play space in her front yard. Needless to say, my son loves it there. There are even some weekends when he asks if we are going to Kim's house! Kim is very professional and gives plenty of notice if she needs time off. She is also very accommodating of schedules (with notice of course). I would not hesitate to recommend Kimmy's Garden to any of my family and friends.

She is very attentive to each child and pays attention to individual needs and requests. She also does great work at getting the kids ready for kindergarten. Also, compared to other daycares around Boston, Ms. Manu's price is very reasonable and throughout the 7 years increased only minimally.

We are grateful to have found such a strong and supportive community of teachers, administrators, and local families. The staff are creative, caring, and highly attentive, consistently designing thoughtful, developmentally appropriate activities and programs. The center operates year-round from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., eliminating the need for additional aftercare or summer programs. Tuition is transparent, with no hidden fees, and includes a full meal plan and three additional enrichment activities. Although our child can be a picky eater at home, he has become much more willing to try new foods at daycare. GQCC also offers a large playground and is conveniently located near a highway exit. Our child receives Early Intervention services, and the staff have been exceptional in collaborating with EI providers and expanding strategies to support regulation and sensory development. Teachers are always accessible for check-ins, and we regularly receive photos and updates about daily activities. GQCC is a wonderful center with caring, attentive, and professional staff. The teachers and administrators are all very kind and supportive. The girls learn a lot and are always safe. They have made lots of friends and are constantly talking about all the fun activities they do at the center. Both of our girls started when they were just a few months old. Eila is now almost 4 and Maebh is 19 months old. The pandemic has been challenging but the center staff got us all through it so far safely and my daughter Eila was able to quickly make up ground in her language skills after staying home for several months when the pandemic first hit. Now she's talkative as ever and even is writing her own name. Maebh is strong-willed and loving and she enjoys spending time with other kids and her teachers. I would recommend GQCCC to any families or teachers.
