Customer service here is awful. We walked in and were there for about 15-20 minutes, and not a single employee greeted us. There were two people working, yet no one even said hello or acknowledged that we were there. When I finally asked about a stroller, the gentleman didn't even look up. He simply pointed in a direction and never asked if we needed any help or assistance. The whole interaction felt very dismissive. I came in fully prepared to purchase an $800 running stroller, but after that experience, I walked out without buying anything because I didn't want to give them my business. So unfortunately, I did not have a positive experience in this store. I really wanted to support a small business and it did not end up happening. To begin with I called the store ahead, asking about the Nuna Pipa RX, to see if they had stock. Confirmed over the phone that they did and then, extended their services of having "gear experts", and allowing us to use their display car seats to test in our car. They did let me know that I'd have to leave my ID and a credit card in store while testing the display car seat seats, which I was fine with. the sales people on the floor, were friendly enough and courteous, they did answer questions that I asked, but did not bother to try and go through the nuances of all the car seats that they had available or at least the brand in question, which was Nuna. As a children's store that is offering car seats, I would think that their sales people would want to give their customers a full range of knowledge that they have. Every single car seat is particular and has its own manual that needs to be followed because every single model is different. I was there for two hours, and looked at basically the entire Nuna line and the Cybex 360 and was giving pretty obvious signals that I did not know anything about the different models seeing as how I was fiddling around with most of them and asking some basic questions. Upon wanting to try the seats in my car, I was allowed to leave my ID and credit card to try out the seat in my car, but for some reason at around the two hour mark, even though I had had one of the seats for maybe 20 to 30 minutes, a relative of mine went into the store to ask to use the bathroom (which they don't have one other than a public restroom, which has a dilapidated changing station) and they were told that we were taking too long with the car seat. After the in-store experience and hearing that my relative was told this, me and my wife decided that this just was not gonna be the place where we wanted to spend our money. I then asked to speak to a manager after I returned their car seat and retrieved my ID and CC. The manager was kind and listened to my feedback which consisted of not disparaging the employees for their kindness and friendliness, but rather because they did not take the time to explain the different products they have in store, which for car seats I feel like every kids store should try their best to do so. I then went on to explain that I was told over the phone about "gear expert" to which she then stated (paraphrased) "no we don't have people that go down and help you with putting in the car seat or testing it or looking at it, we are not certified technicians and we don't have any". I told her regardless of that I was told that over the phone that they did have people, to which she said, I'm sorry that was misinformation. I can accept that. Maybe there was misinformation, but I was told that and that's one of the reasons I came to support this small business. The manager then mentioned that even allowing me to take the car seat down to my car is an exception made by the store, and this also has resulted in me being a detractor from the store, because over the phone, I was confirmed that they would allow us, not that it was an exception, but that they would allow it as part of their service. This was also one of the main reasons I am detracting and will not come back to the store because I feel like this was not a proper experience from end to beginning at this point. Do not make me feel like you are doing me a favor when over the phone I was told I could do something as part of your service. I am also making an exception on my part to give my ID and my credit card my physical credit card. I am trusting your employees to not fraud me as any business COULD not that I am saying this business would. I'm sorry to be a detractor, i really wish I had a positive experience today. I did get to try out the Nuna Pipa RX, and Nuna Rava in my car - a Jeep Wrangler 2021, and from these two and the others offered in store I THINK the Pipa RX is the best choice at the moment, i have to do more research but I will be going elsewhere. If anyone has a Jeep, they know that it is a bit more of a hassle to try to get the right seat for Jeeps due to the incline of the seat, the backrest being so straight up, and the cabin space overall. So of course I was taking a little while as I had to fiddle around with the car seats and figure them out and see how my child was fitting in them. I will mention that the manager was kind enough to refer me to Traveling Tykes and The Pump Station in Santa Monica, as they have certified technicians, so I do really appreciate that, I was going to go to those next regardless of her mentioning them, but at least she tried to make some kind of amend. I am leaving a two, but I think the manager KIND OF almost bumps it to a 3. ALMOST. read more

They also have diverse selection of cribs, carriers, high chairs, and all baby related items. They are responsive when you call them to inquire about models, placing orders on their web store. Since I am in LA county, shipping takes 1 day and it's pretty fast. I recently ordered a Joolz Air+ stroller on NYE and it was well packed. This cute boutique really does have a lot, which is helpful when you feel like you need to get eyes on the things you're choosing for your children. However, I've been here three times and two out of the three I haven't even been acknowledged by anyone in the staff. They've just been standing behind the register and don't even look up to make eye contact with me. I typically don't put a lot of stock into something like that but the fact that it's happened two out of three times is a little bothersome. However this place gets 2 stars because as a pregnant woman- umm you have to use the restroom quite often. The owner had the restroom closed off and refused to unlock it because of "covid". SO let me get this straight- I can enter your store and touch all of your merchandise- I can touch the keypad to enter in my pin number when I pay for something- yet I can't use the restroom? this place looks like babies r us and giggle and a swap meet had an orgy. at first glance, it feels like things would be way cheaper here than shopping at giggle or babies r us, but that's not always the case. I recently bought aden and anais swaddles here (4 pack, jungle jam print) which I later price checked and saw it was more expensive than at amazon (by 11 dollars), 5 cent cheaper than giggle, and i couldn't find that print on babies r us. It was memorial day and I asked if they were having a sale, and they said it was 20% off most items but not Aden and Anais. Well, I got some pee pee tee pees and also a box of como tomo's (my fave bottles) so at least I got those at a discount (and they ended up being cheaper than on amazon). That said, there is something crazy about being here. It just makes you want to buy everything because you can just see everything at once, from smaller brands to bigger brands. I also like the fact that they have a bunch of stuff from Korea, and they carry brands that you wouldn't typically expect for a place that LOOKS like this to carry, like bugaboo strollers, quinny strollers, some more esoteric european and asian brands too. They def do follow you around like most people said here but I think they sort of have to because of the sheer amount of stuff that is in here and honestly, it would probably be hella easy to steal if they didn't have so many people working here. I just use them to my advantage because it would take me forever to sort through all their crap. It is not often I write a review on Yelp, however, the patient, honest and accommodating way Paula @ Kidsland - I believe she is the daughter of the principals of this business - handled my family's business... I was just compelled to write. I came into the store with some of my family and friends - some 7 adults and 4 or 5 kids - and they were running around, creating crazy town. Despite this, the entire staff was very polite and dismissive of the havoc the kids were creating. (I'm so sorry again, Paula). Anyway, my wife and I were looking for a baby seat and stroller and Paula took the time to show us all of the different solutions their store offered, ...and even some that their store did not carry, in case we found those solutions to be better. She genuinely was trying to find the best solution for my wife and I. This conclusion was further bolstered by the fact that the stroller and seat combination I wound up purchasing (Cybex), was probably the least expensive of the bunch, when I was clearly prepared to buy the most expensive one in the store (Silver Cross). And I know everything is relative, and Cybex is also an expensive brand, but I wanted to point out that the price I paid was also very good, based on the research that I was able to do after my purchase. It did happen to be Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, so things WERE on sale, however, I feel like Paula gave me a great deal. Anyway, she and her staff spent alot of time on us, in spite of the fact that her store was pretty darned crowded with other patrons also, on this occasion, and I hope this review is helpful to anyone shopping for baby stuff in Downtown LA. read more

Great selection stuffed into a tiny store... So so staff This store makes me feel claustrophobic at times b/c they have sooo much stuff for not a lot of space. BUT... they have SO much stuff! Brands and specialty items that Babies R Us doesn't carry. It's a bit pricey, but not by much, and they have a huge selection of high end strollers and other gear. Most of the items they carry are higher end products so you can be assured that no matter what you buy from them, it's going to be a good quality item. I really like that they have open package samples of things such as spoons and toothbrushes etc so you can really see what the item is like before you buy... A HUGE plus The owner is very nice, but the Korean gentleman that is in charge of Stroller sales is rude and unhelpful unless the owner is around. We didn't buy our stroller or our umbrella stroller from Kidsland just b/c that guy was so rude and off putting. He acts like he's doing us a favor and is always in a hurry. That is unless the owner is around, then he's so courteous and helpful. *gag* 2 faced much? I was very bothered by my experience at Kidsland. I will NOT be going back. I felt that the cashier intentionally and purposefully discriminated against me. I went to Kidsland on my lunch break to purchase the Mima Xari stroller. I'd been eyeing this stroller for a while, and after significant research- decided that this one was the one that would best fit my and my child's needs. The stroller came to a total of $1,550 after tax (average price from what I've researched). While being rang up, the cashier asked me how I knew about the stroller. I explained to her that I found the stroller via an online search and that the Mima website indicated that the strollers were sold at this location. However, she then rephrased her question- she asked me how I knew about the Mima Xari at all. I was pretty confused at this point. I told her that the stroller is very popular and that I've been looking into buying one for a long time. She then proceeded to explain that this was a very "high society stroller" and alluded to the conventional market of persons that purchase the stroller.... Mind you, I am a 23 year old black, single mother. I had my child's father with me while I purchased the stroller, but because he happened to be visiting (they clearly noticed because they kept calling him my husband, as though marriage is a pre-requisite for procreation). After purchasing the stroller, I asked for assistance assembling it. She hesitated and told me that if I assembled it at the store, I could not return it. I am not sure why she assumed that I would ever return my child's stroller. Regardless, the behavior was extremely judgmental and inappropriate and I will not be returning to this poorly educated and unethically aware space. read more

I know nothing about babies or first-time moms, and we were completely overwhelmed with everything we've read and seen online. I would describe Kidsland as Babies R Us but with a higher quality selection of merchandise. Their merchandise can be very pricey but they do have some sale items too. We saw strollers that were 40 to 50% off and also saw some baby gadgets not seen elsewhere. Stop by and you may find that special item you want to give your little one. Great customer service! The girls that work there are super helpful and nice. They spent ample time with my husband and I explaining pros and cons to each stroller. At the end I left a lot closer to making my decision. Who would have know that choosing a stroller would be tougher than buying a car? I highly recommend this place if you need to compare strollers or car seats. You can try pushing them, folding them, and just playing with them in order to figure out what fits your lifestyle. They are the only ones I found that carried all the strollers I needed to compare... the mima, bugaboo, silvercross, cubex, mammas and papas and the stokee. Not even buy buy baby has all these prams. I was born and raised in Koreatown, LA and for as long as I can remember, this kids store has been around and poppin.
