I look my 11mo son for a trim with Rose because the ends were a little long shortly after my hairdresser gave him an excellent haircut. I had a lot of trepidation about going to KidSnips over my own hairdresser, but since Rose gave my friend's son a nice haircut, I thought I would give her a try with a simple trim. After clearly indicating I wanted the ends trim around his ears and his bangs, she gave him completely different haircut and it looks awful!!! It's not even a matter of taste, it is an objectively sloppy haircut. She was careless with the clippers,moving way too fast to clip with any precision, leaving areas with too little hair and uneven. She started cutting the top of his head with texturizing scissors, changing the shape without consulting me. She said he needed it because his hair is fine. It looked thicker and laid nicely before she hacked at it. His haircut was uneven, his bangs are also uneven and too thinned out, and it will take a while to grow out and return to normal. I'm truly perplexed by all of the positive reviews. Maybe the bad cut was intentional because she and I did not vibe well. Who knows! Anyway, that was our first and will be our last hair cut at KidSnips. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Beauty school dropouts at best! (Manager extremely rude, too, actually rolled her eyes when we complained!) We went for two trims and ended up with two totally lopsided haircuts plus one daughter with bangs, she came in with no bangs! Had to go get both cuts fixed (professionally!) And now, in addition to my one daughter with ugly bangs, my other daughter had to get 4 inches cut off her long locks just to make both sides even.. has been crying for hours. While the other one won't take a barrette out of her hair now! (Not to mention, they tried to hide the bangs on us by braiding her hair.. only noticed the bangs when we got home and took the braid out!) Please take my advice, ladies.... save yourself a headache, spend the extra $ and go somewhere reputable! :( read more

My daughter's hairdresser, Rose, which we have seen a couple of times is great. I will give her 5 stars. However, when I got there my daughter's hair was pretty tangled, which of course was my fault, and her hair is pretty long. The hairstylist was not very happy about it, I could see it on her face, talked to the manager about it then I ended up with an additional $15 fee!!! I understand you have to pay for services but $15 additional without even being told how much more they will charge me!!! Please have your kids hair brushed before going for a haircut or you might end up paying $40 for a kids hair cut!!! read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Yolanda at Kidsnips in Wilmette!!! I have been taking my two children there for close to 7 years now (since my little guy was close to 2 years old - and he is now 8)! We have tried a few stylists when we absolutely needed haircuts and we could not coordinate with Yolanda. All the stylists have been great, though we really like the consistency of getting to know one person. Try it out - you will be glad you did! For 3 years I took my nephew and I have yet to be disappointed. We usually request Stella because we are always happy with the ending result. after picking out the video game he wants to play he quickly sits in the fun vehicle seat that they have there and from that point, it's stress free.
