The activity's within the program are encouraging for kids, but the coaches need to improve when it comes to managing/supervising the children. Also, the managers can do better when it comes to conflict. My son was punched in the back by another child while in class, I saw it with my own two eyes. He ran over to me hysterically crying (he's 5). The other parents were no where to be found and then ran over from the other class side after I was asking whose child this was (that punched my son) and then we had an argument as they claimed their son did nothing. The manager was flustered while this happened, asked us to step away from each other, not sure what to do or how to resolve this conflict, and it all came down to the coaches not watching and this child's inability to control himself. The manager finally did end up calling me after I expressed my concerns many times in email and left several voicemails and also shared my son's fear of returning once I did talk to him. He agreed he would connect with me again, to check in and see if he had interest in returning - he never did. I called back several times to be sure I wouldn't have a charge on my account, left voicemails too- none of which have been returned. They're aggressive as anything when it comes to calling you back to sign up, but if there is an issue or you have a question, it's impossible to get someone on the phone line. We would not return here and it's unfortunate as the class concept is really great. We will look for another type of place like this with different managers and coaches. read more

They do not thoroughly clean, the last 3x I've taken my son for class on Wednesdays he's gotten really sick after. I've tried to speak to management and they have been avoiding me, when I call they do not pick up. The coaches don't even engage with the kids, they see what's on tv and tell the kids to do the same. My son is 2 years old, maybe they should advertise for kids 4and up. This is a waste of money, avoid this place at all costs!! read more

The idea of Kidstrong is fantastic if executed properly and this location falls miserably short. I believe your staff is as good as the management and after dealing with the incompetence I dealt with dealing with the general manager there, I see why the classes are a disaster and are really the antithesis of what they claim to stand for. My son has been attending for the past few months and over the past few classes I saw it was getting worse each class. There was a child in particular that was constantly messing with my son and the final straw was his last class where I observed multiple acts of bullying from this particular child toward my son and the coaches did absolutely nothing about it. He was ripping things out of my son's hand and trying to bully him during games, etc. It was bad. So bad that it got to the point where it could have been dangerous had my son not had the skills to handle himself. That particular day, that very child got a coaches award for good teamwork and I was blown away. It shows that they give those awards out solely based on who's next in line and not based on how they do in the class. Totally just going through the motions and showing the other students you get rewarded for bad behavior. Not a great morale booster for the rest of the kids. My son was fed up and traumatized. He cried and said he never wanted to go back. I expressed this to the GM and at first he was great and I told him I would try to get my son back there if he would take care of the issues we were facing. . My son flat out refused and I of course did not force him. I contacted him again and told him my son didn't want to come back and I asked him for a refund for that month since he would not attend any of the classes I paid for that month. That's when his demeanor completely changed. Flat out refused and showed how inexperienced he is in customer service and basically argued with me and told me it was my fault that I didn't come to him sooner. I was really trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt and also not be so quick to intervene and he totally tried to use that against me. He told me he would have handled it differently than I did with his own kids and pretty much attempted to shame me. Had zero understanding and took absolutely no accountability for the fact that his staff does not know how to handle children at all which created a very toxic environment. He persisted and kept arguing. The conversation was obviously going nowhere and I soon realized I was dealing with a man-child, so I told him I would dispute the transaction and he smugly replied "go ahead and then when the paperwork comes to me I'll deny it and you still won't get your refund." Disgusting display of incompetence. Save yourself the aggravation and drama and bring your kids elsewhere. The management here cares nothing about you or your child and is willing to further ruin their already tarnished reputation for a few bucks. They obviously have no idea what the concept of retention and clientele is. Zero care or compassion for your child and zero accountability for their lack of effective management. The reviews all over the internet and all the complaints on the BBB of this place speak for themselves. Beware and keep your children far away from this place. read more

I have two neurodivergent children and they are so patient and kind with them and help them work through their struggles. We've been apart of KidStrong since it opened in May of 2021. We absolutely love it. Watching our now 4 year old grow and become more independent has been awesome. Just a few weeks ago our one year old (that's been on the sidelines since he was 4 weeks old) has recently stepped out on the mat. Both my boys love it. The coaches are phenomenal. So friendly, encouraging, and patient. They are true leaders of what KidStrong embodies. The facility itself is inviting and clean. We started Kidstrong about 6 months ago and my 3 year old son has really grown in confidence and ability in speaking and agility. I love that every month there's physical, emotional and academic goals that I can clearly see. Everything they do has been developmentally appropriate, from working on teamwork, individual goals, listening skills. My favorite month was when they learned a new sign of sign language and worked on public speaking. The affirmations are also perfect, my son loves saying them during and after class and whenever they apply to life as we know it. He loves saying "I can do it!". The work they do is amazing and they change it up every month. The beginning of each month there's a learning curve but my son loves the challenge of each obstacle. I can go on and on! Definitely recommend to any parent to try a trial class and if your child is completely not on task, the coaches are great at guiding them. Trust the process! read more

I will agree wholeheartedly with what mark D wrote. Same exact situation except the obsession with keeping me in the phone to talk about the experience to make ME feel like I was doing something wrong. I would be a little bit more kind to families who decide they aren't interested in continuing their membership. I left my conversation feeling mom shamed. That's not good when you are helping kids. I came to the realization I am a different kind of athlete and I want my daughter to learn that from me, sportsmanship is a big part of succeeding in this world. Signing my son up for KidStrong is one of the best decisions we've made. Every coach that we've encountered in Waldwick has been fantastic. We joined when they first opened in 2021 when my son just started walking and he's grown so much from all of the courses and challenges. I was seriously considering putting my daughter in this program. However, I have changed my mind since the onslaught of harassing phone calls that I received from them. Multiple phone calls and emails trying to get me to join; pushy in fact. Even after I've asked them to stop calling because I would call them. It was so bizarre. I'll pass. KidStrong has helped my child grow both in confidence and in strength. The coaches have all been wonderful and understanding of his needs. If he was unable to complete an exercise initially, they helped to modify it for him. I am also an involved parent and encourage my child from the sidelines and work in the skills be taught in class at home. It is truly a wonderful program. Kidstrong is just amazing. The Waldwick location has great coaches with amazing attitudes who really care about the kids. The programming changes every month and they focus on skills like public speaking and eye contact and language for the younger kids. I have three kids there, all 5 and under and I have seen them grow tremendously since they have come here. They are more confident, stronger, and their interpersonal skills have grown more than I ever could have imagined. I wish I had started sooner! Seems like negativity is related to canceling the monthly subscriptions and commitments. Not a problem for me, I'll stick around for a long time!!!! read more

this is an amazing business concept. BUT in this location they are lacking. There is not enough staffing to run the program. my son ends up in a class with multiple special needs children and there are not enough staff members to help those children as well as focus on the other children, they seem to be all over the place. half the kids don't know what station is next they just run around. my son is low tone so I was told this would be great for him, but there is minimal focus because of only 2 teachers per like 20 kids. and if a few kids have severe ADHD they are getting ignored. I loved the curriculum but they do not seem able to control the classes. read more

Both of our children are enrolled in Kidstrong classes, and they couldn't love it more. The coaches are incredibly kind and considerate and know how to work well with kids of all ages, abilities, and experience levels. I have never written a negative review in my life and have been brought to tears from the manager and regional director of Kidstrong Waldwick. They are a greedy company with a primary goal to trick parents into making a 6 month commitment for kids classes while constantly changing the coaches and being understaffed at times. And half the class seems like a self-promotion! Kids and parents are pressured to promote their company through their antics like making the kids wear kidstrong t-shirts or else they won't "level up" and pressuring parents to go on the kidstrong phone app during class. I also just lost a baby in my second trimester and tried to work with the regional director to get my kids out of the program and not charge us while we were all physically and emotionally healing, but they refused. I have never encountered such a greedy, disgusting company in my LIFE! Furthermore, while the regional manager claimed that she wanted to work with us, she was extremely condescending and tried to act like she knew better how to parent children and then when we did try to make it work, the manager's response was that we would be forfeiting the time we hadn't gone while discussing it with them. read more

We have been so happy to find Kidstrong Waldwick for our 7 year old son, LJ.  He is smart and sweet but needs a little push in the strength, confidence, and social skills arena.  Kidstrong's multifaceted approach (Brain, Body, Character) works so well for LJ because it stimulates and rewards a variety of his skills and strengths -  while simultaneously building on areas that are less developed.  The physical environment is clean and well designed. The atmosphere is positive, encouraging, and collaborative.  The classes are well structured and engaging, following a specific rhythm and lesson plan. The idea of character building is woven through each activity and challenge, ensuring the kids place more weight on being honest and kind over winning.  Coaches - who know every kid by name and greet them with high fives and fist bumps - demonstrate these values and make classes and camps fun, effective, and fast moving.  LJ actually wants to go to Kidstrong and has felt part of the group since his first trial.  Highly recommend!! read more

I NEVER write bad reviews EVER but felt compelled considering my experience with kid strong - the short story is I put my membership on hold for a cost of $60 for 2 kids. They started billing me again without notice for another 2 months for $218 x 2. I nicely called them and said hey cancel my membership and they said they need 30 days notice - I said well you already charged me 60 days keep the extra month and we can call it a day - they said no - you didnt give 30 days notice - I was going to cancel initially and they said why dont you put it on hold for 60 days at a cost $60 - for a local business that caters to kids they just dont do the right thing - I had 2 kids there for months - there are other options and these folks care about one thing and it aint the customer - avoid this business like the plaque - also lots of turnover with instructors so they obviously dont treat their employees well either - again avoid this business - there are a ton of other options for your kids including depending on your child: hoop heaven, super dome, elite gymnastics, aeon gymnastics, ETA, stack sports, just to name a few - read more
