There's a young boy fairly skinny kid who coaches the smaller children. I feel he looks very bored and disinterested in his job. He often looks away and is distracted. I specifically made sure my daughter did not have him as a coach. Why the one star? Well first of all they never, never answer your phone calls. You must leave a message and wait for a call back. Sometimes they call back and sometimes they don't. Secondly, my daughter was sick with a fever and was unable to attend her Monday night class. I called the gym a few days later and spoke to a male. I explained that my daughter missed a class on Monday and kindly asked if she could take a makeup class on Friday or Saturday. His response was "did you call before she couldn't make it to class" I said I'm sorry no I didn't call. His response, "then no she can't make up a class" ok I get it, firm strict firm RULES. I get it but we are paying customers and he could at least be somewhat accommodating in some way.

I tried boxing and Piyo for the first time, loved both. Amanda's classes were great and she even ran over and held my hand doing lunges so I could get into the correct position. With pretty large class sizes, that really says a lot about the instructor. Most of her students had been with her for years, no other place in Monterey Bay has that kind of cult following this gym and its instructors have. Most people want to work out in a place where everyone looks like their ideal physique, and the people who attend this gym are definitely athletes. If you can get over your own insecurities and put in the work, you will love it here. Lastly, customer service is how it should be. Cancelling is easy. Signing up is easy. The monthly payment is low. There are no gimmicks or upselling or hassles. Just show up when you want to try a class and if you like it, join! Unfortunately with COVID I've been home doing Beachbody. So, not only were the payments not pulled, but the monthly cost increased with no notice what so ever. Fine, I went into the gym during the next class and provided a check for $230.00 for the new "manager" to tell me the owner said they couldn't honor the discount offered and agreed to and that the $230.00 would only go toward the balance due, and not the current month as well. I emailed the gym with my concerns and asked for them to unenroll my child and delete my auto pay as there was no option to do this online and I got no response. The next Tuesday comes around and I get charged $50.00 for August, when she hasn't attended one class in August yet. I had to call my bank and dispute the charge as it was not correct and not authorized. I left another voicemail with no response. Shocker!! On top of this, the gym is dirty every single time we go in there. Tons of dust and garbage. They had a Greenwaste garbage can inside that smelt terrible for the first few months as well. There is a lot of space, great natural light, they had a little bounce house set up in addition to all the normal gym apparatus and adults got to play and try out everything too! They had a table set up (with birthday tablecloth) and plates, forks, napkins and even party favors. And the young lady in charge was very chill and giving pointers to the kids (and adults) who wanted to try new things/ improve their skills. I would highly recommend this venue for parties! The workouts are challenging but they aren't repetitive, we do same or different movements but the rounds, the time, the reps is not the same, all work outs are different on a daily biases. When he cancels a Saturday class its either because work is being done at the gym or another valid situation, not Just because he doesn't want to coach. That's crazy to even think that its just because he doesn't want to coach. Prices have gone up, but so has prices everywhere. If the prices didn't go up we wouldn't have a gym, and that's 100% facts. Go and check out other gyms and see how much they charge and they you will be appreciative of how much we pay. If you are having those issues with members hitting on you, defiantly speak to Jesse, he will nip it in the ass quick. Don't assume things. You are right the Facility is nice and the Community is awesome, But how do you write that after bashing this man's business and persona.
