Just a regular landfill aka dump. The transfer stations have become jobs programs with people standing around doing nothing.

I stopped by this place recently to drop off some asphalt samples my company needed to get rid of. When I first pulled in, I talked with a lady at the booth who was really friendly and helpful. I told her I had boxes of asphalt, and she told me asphalt was free to dump. I thanked her and mentioned that I'd be coming back with more boxes, and she said that was fine. I dropped everything off and went back to my shop for the next load. When I came back later, a different guy was working. I told him the same thing, that I had boxes of asphalt to dump. He said it would be thirty five dollars. I told him the lady earlier said asphalt was free, and he said that only applies without the boxes. I told him she never mentioned that, but he didn't seem to care. He also said that if I wanted to dump the asphalt out of the boxes into the concrete section, someone would have to watch me, like he didn't trust me. At that point I just paid the fee because I didn't feel like arguing. It was frustrating getting two completely different answers on the same day. The first lady was great and handled things professionally. The second guy, not so much. The only reason I came here was because it's close to my shop, but after that experience I'll probably go somewhere else. Just know it might depend on who you get at the booth. read more

I'm a little disappointed with this place now that they've updated their prices. Our small SUV went from costing $5 to $20. It's still a decent price considering how much stuff you can dump, but it's the same price as a full-size SUV, which literally can hold twice the amount of trash. Also, when they made this change, it was really the list of cars that they considered to be a small SUV. They had raised all of the prices (small SUVs went from $5 to $10), but then shortened the list drastically to what was included in that list. It's honestly ridiculous that they did that, and the employee that was trying to explain this to us was very rude. We complained to the manager because she wasn't telling us about the new list. So we thought she was telling us that our car was a full-size SUV. Later we were given the new list and it has about 10 cars on it. We have decided to try our best not to come back here. We'll just try to cut back on waste. read more

Great dump! Went to the one in Placerville which is closer to my job site and they are rude, over priced, and super long wait to get in and dump. They charged $62.00 for the load. Decided to drive the extra distance to Keifer and the exact same load was $35. Their staff was friendly, got me in quickly and didnt make me wait to dump. It was also WAY cleaner. I go to Queefer landfill everyday.. They are nice unless you start whining the prices went up. There were a lot of fires this year. Where do you think burnt houses along with everything in it with toxins go? Prices doubled at all landfills November 1. Fires. Stop starting fires. If you look into it, it is the cheapest around still to this day. This is all I do. Plus they have the best taco truck in the world here Be respectful and polite because these people are actually really cool. You just have to have a sense of humor. You're at a landfill folks. read more

Look, it's a review for the dump, which I thought was unnecessary. I have previously been a Placerville MRF customer. I can't stand going there. Lines, rude staff, etc. The prices are insane !!!! 35$ a tire, mattress etc. large items are extra fees, they also have zero rhyme or reason. One day my truck and trailer is 85$, the same load the next day is 145$!! With 5tires, two mattresses and about 5cuyd of waste, I would have paid 350 at Placerville. Kiefer was 57$. Not even close. Very organized, and streamlined. Thank you Kiefer landfill, I will pass as much customers their way as possible. read more

I don't know about this one: A dump, and "Yay! I'm a fan!" on the same screen?? Anyway, I digress... As far as dumps go, this is good one. The guys are friendly, it's easy in and easy out, and you can dump hundreds of pounds of garbage/old furniture and metal for $25. I'm not a fan of going to dumps, but this one isn't bad! Kiefer Landfill - Recycling Center Near Me - Sloughhouse, California

Online and posted before the gate, the fee schedule states that cars and compact SUV's will be charged $10 per load. I drive a Nissan Rogue, which is classified by Nissan as a CUV, which literally means "Compact utility vehicle". Kiefer Landfill will charge you $20 regardless of their posted policy. Yes, I had garbage to dump, and yes, I paid the extra $10. Just a heads up for the public: plan on spending twice the posted price. read more

Easy, quick and pretty inexpensive. I had a Silverado truck filled with a couch, queen size mattress, some rugs and a few other items and paid $45 out the door. I've also never dumped before so I'm not sure what the going price is these days lol as far as I can tell this was a decent first time experience. read more

$20.00 bucks for a pickup compared to 45-58 in Sacramento Area... Signs every telling what direction you need to go. Friendly people work from the front gate to the landfill. read more

My family and I have gone to this dump several times in the last few months and always have great experiences. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We use a large box truck, and every time we have paid $45 no matter how big or small our load is which is great because we know what to expect each time. They accept cash or card. Separate areas for appliances, mattresses, etc. aside from the main dumping site. It's always a smooth experience! read more

It's a dump, but what makes it painful is on day 1, I was charged an extra $5 for having wood past my tailgate on my dodge ram. No worries $25 total. The next day, same truck, same exact load, but different guy, charged me $20 even. Please be nice and be consistent. Also, too many nails which would not take much to sweep up considering their massive equipment, They should sweep after every few car loads. read more

Horrible customer service today ... called and was told the ewaste was free to dump ... i get there and they let me in and the guy says that i have too many computer and that it didn't come from my home and that i need to go back an get weighted and pay for my ewaste disposal ... i just went over to sims metals and they let me off load for free .... no heads up no warning no nothing .... usually a guy would be like i can let you off load this time but next time you will get charged ... nope ... you need to go get back in line and pay ..... sad that some folks bring their at home issues to work with them .... read more

We were cleaning up our garage and back yard and had never been to Kiefer Landfill. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. We pulled up and there were a few cars or trucks in front of us but we waited maybe three minutes tops. Then we were greeted by a gentleman who was kind and efficient and gave us the info we needed. They had signs with arrows so you knew where to drop off what, which was really nice since we had a ton of different items. Then we went to the top to drop of the rest and were greeted again by a very nice man who sent us to our drop off spot. Then on our way out we met a lovely women who was so incredibly sweet and expedient I was begging to wonder if we were still at the dump. It was really a great experience (having been to many dumps before and most people barely acknowledge you and their set up makes not sense), so we were really surprised how this place was laid out and how kind everyone who worked there was. And on top of it all many of the items we had were free. Mattress and an old TV. The total cost for our huge amount was only $45.00. A great deal indeed. read more

Seriously disappointed. I had some paint to drop off, but when I arrived, I had no idea what I was supposed to do or where I was supposed to go. There were signs for trucks and authorized vehicles however. They need an information booth or something. So frustrating....I had to leave. read more

Best Dump EVER! $25 for a uhaul truck full of garbage. The wait in line at the top of the mound-o-trash was a bit long, but once at the top, dump your stuff and off you go. It was a bit further out in the boonies than I expected. But, wait for it... What a DUMP! :) read more

Best and cheapest place to go and most of the workers are cool and it usually pretty quick in and out no hassle, but there are those few workers who can just ruin your day when you come here , especially the supervisor he is and always acts with complete and udder disrespect to public and commercial customers and has actually blackmailed me personally about calling my boss because someone's stuff had materials they don't take next to my pile and they tried to say I dumped it so they made me go all the way back to the back of the dump for them to just realize oh we realized it wasn't your stuff and no apologizes or refund for wasting my time and gas to all the way back for something didn't dump and said I didn't dump but the *** home supervisor there said I did haha I proved him wrong what a joke he is they really need to consider firing him at least I would he doesn't do anything either there and probably gets paid the most to read more
