I love Thai food, and Kik's does not disappoint! Just like any type of food, it is exciting getting to taste what different chefs do with their dishes. When trying out a new Thai place, I like to see how they do pad Thai. Kik's pad Thai is a generous portion, with fresh bean sprouts, and a wonderfully flavorful sauce that has just the right amount of heat. Their fried rice again was a generous portion. Great flavor. Service: Although the young woman who took our order/served us was very nice, the place was seriously yuck. I really don't understand all the high star ratings! Food: I have eaten (and made) lots of Thai food, and this was by far some of the least authentic I've ever had. The Beef Salad had flavorless pieces of chewy beef over iceberg(!) lettuce. Truly, the beef tasted as if it had been used to flavor broth, then to economize, put in this dish..no flavor. The dish also tasted of dish soap in some spots. The Pad Thai was ok, not sticky and not sweet; just not really a genuine Thai flavor..not the worst I've ever had, but close. If this were the only eatery in town, I might try again, but since there are many places to choose from, no. Ambiance: the first clue should have been the John Wayne carvings on the two front doors, followed by the horrendous smell that hits you in the face as soon as you walk in. It smells as if they've never cleaned their carpets, but instead use copious amounts of that perfumed spray. The table was sticky, the wall by the table was dirty, and almost all of the decor was disconcertingly "American patriot/cowboy". And yet, it was busy with lots of take-out customers while we were there. Go figure. read more

So very disappointed with this place. A foodtruck business that moved into the old Cattlemen's on S Main. Me and hubby just happened to notice it wasn't Cattlemen's anymore, it was now a Thai restaurant with a wide variety of both Thai and American. The first time we went in we were gracoiusly greeted by a very nice lady with beautiful hair. (I wish I had got her name.) The food was great. I got to order from the EXTRAS part of the menu, which was perfect for me because I have a digestive disorder that prevents me from eating certain foods & or large portions. My first meal there were 2 egg rolls off the XTRA list. My hubby ordered the sweet sour chicken. My husband loved his dish too. I can't have much of anything too sweet, but my meal with the 2 egg rolls was great. I was only able to eat one, though. A 2nd time the following week, my husband took our son there to eat. They both ordered full meals and the cheese egg rolls, which they said were very good. We began to frequent there at least twice a week for lunch, always greeted & waited on by the same lovely waitress we met the very first time we ate there. The last time we were there was last week on Friday. OMG! We not only got a different waitress, but she would not accommodate my order of the same eggroll & a side of the red pork. She said, in order for me to order anything off the XTRA list I'd have to order a whole meal off the regular menu. Every time I tried speak to explain she'd speak over me. She just walked away, went back into the kitchen, came back out & again told me she checked w the cook & he also said I had to order a full meal to order any of the EXTRAS. My husband was ordering a full meal which comes with your choice of fried or steamed rice, soo, he told the waitress he wanted also to order an Xtra of the red pork and an eggroll with his meal. (so then I would be able to eat without waisting food.) The order was taken without anymore said by our waitress. Next, the meal was brought out to our table after a long wait with no refills on water. My husband had ordered the Lemon chicken that the menu noted came with choice of rice. We were unfortunately confused by a side of steamed veggies that weren't even steamed properly, with not a hint of flavor, as well as almost being served cold and it was an unexpected item we hadn't ordered. Yet, I somehow managed to get an eggroll, I think it was only by chance, though. My husband asked this unkind waitress where his side of red pork was. She explained he couldn't add another Xtra from the menu because he had fried rice with his meal. WTxxxx???? My husband said his meal came with rice, so what was that all about?? She just apologized and told him that the cook had allowed a side of steamed veggies. BUT, he didn't order steamed veggies???? I tried the veggies so at least I'd have something to eat. I couldn't even bite through them especially not at all appetizing. We got up to pay. Our poor lovely waitress we had met at the beginning took our bill as we explained to her what happened.. My husband paid the bill but due to all that fiasco, we would not be back. I will surely miss her friendliness and her awesome service. I wish for her much success and blessings. As for the restaurant, I hope they consider going back to soley serving out of their food truck since they put limitations that are not described in a restaurant menu, and do not accommodate their customers with what they want to eat. Oh, yeah, one could order a kids meal if you're a kid. No worries, it's just a corn dog anyway, for that, there's always Sonic. There are 4 dine-in Thai restaurants that are just as good and allow for their customers to order off the menu whatever they want. Friendly, customer accomodating and very inviting.
