The owner was the sweetest lady. She was always smiling, happy, and treated me like her own family. My waitress was very attentive and well mannered. First time seeing multiple ice cream options that you can serve yourself just like an ice cream parlor! Not only was the food excellent with a variety of choices, but this was the cleanest buffet we've ever been to. The staff were constantly adding fresh, hot food if something ran low. The tables, the floors, the restrooms: everything was clean and kept clean by waitstaff. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed. It is a solid Chinese buffet in an area with very little in the way of Asian cuisine. The buffet with a drink was less than $20, you would spend almost as much at Panda Express for less food. It deserves 5 stars because it does a great job of being what it sets out to be. The restaurant was clean and everything was in working order. Decor is appropriate but understated. The server was quick to refill my drink and carry away empty plates. Small sushi section, but good. A few rolls, some eel on rice and shrimp on rice plus some spicy mussels. Plenty of fresh fruit options and a nice salad bar. About a dozen entries like General Tso Chicken, honey chicken, broccoli beef, chili shrimp, and a butter shrimp that I really liked, plenty of it. Another section had most of the deep fried items like spring rolls, wonton, shrimp, etc. They even have pizza for kids. There is a section of desserts as well. It's an Oriental buffet. Trays were kept full. Hot food was hot. The sushi is American sushi. (Although I do like the tofu pockets with rice and seaweed salad more than I should) The Unagi has WAY TOO MUCH rice, but the unagi itself is ok. Nothing truly spectacular, but good for what it is. This is not five Michelin stars -- it's five stars in the Chinese Buffet category. :) It's a bright and shining example of how a little care and a good cooking staff can make a place like this shine. The selection was slightly smaller than I had anticipated... but the food! The fried foods were light and crisp -- the best I've ever had in such an establishment. Not heavy or oily at all. The veggies in all the dishes were cooked to just the right point -- not too floppy, not too raw. The meats didn't have any of the low-quality gristle that sometimes crops up in similar places. Someone in the kitchen knows their work and takes pride in it. Good flavors, good sauces. The service was also very friendly -- we felt welcome and accommodated. Solid Chinese buffet, pretty decent selection of food, and as far as I can taste- the best Chinese in Roswell. Granted, I like to do to go and get 2-3 means for the price of a sit down lunch, but I've also met many people here for a relaxing meal. Comfy booths, drinks get refilled fairly fast, and the food on the buffet generally doesn't run out (if it does, wait 30 seconds and a cart will be out with everything low/missing). This is the type off Chinese food I grew up, although tbh the buffets back home generally have more (what I'd do for some coconut chicken...) but I really can't complain. read more

Yes, it's a Chinese Buffet ($) and it's pretty darn good. I have eaten here more times that I would like to admit, but nice people and consistent food are worth a lot these days. What I really want to tell you about is Roswell and the 4th of July. Roswell has an event called "The UFO Festival" (look for it on facebook) and it's family-friendly fun with a small main street carnival-like atmosphere. Even better than all the fun souvenirs, you can buy good sized ariel display fireworks ($$$) and have a heck of a 4th of July! I'm talking about the kind of fireworks that aren't available in other places -ever. If you want to visit Roswell, go for the 4th of July and have a blast! read more

My husband and I stopped here traveling through Roswell and loved this place! Upon entering we were greeted by a very friendly host who seemed genuinely happy we were there! The staff are very helpful and took away dishes as soon as we were finished with them and made it easy to go for seconds. The food is hot and fresh and delicious. There is much variety to choose from. They are very mindful of Covid protocol. You wear individual plastic gloves to handle the serving utensils. It is a very clean establishment. It's a Chinese buffet, so you'd be crazy to expect the food to be rave-worthy. However, the food is good enough. Depending on how busy it is when you go, the food can get cold but if you catch them during peak lunch or dinner hour, the food will be usually fresh. I was really hoping this place was good but unfortunately it wasn't. First, the lady at the front then you walk in charges you immediately to eat and isn't super friendly, she even hunted down someone who walked in and was super rude to them. The food is mediocre at best. My brother had the chicken on skewers and completely spit it out and didn't eat another bite of food stating, "I'm not sure what that is but it's the worst thing I ever put in my mouth." There were about 5 items I didn't off my plate after the first bite and the chicken teriyaki looked questionable as it was grey and soaking in oil. The wrong teas was brought for a refill and it was super annoying for the staff to replace, apparently. Lastly, while people were still being seated the kitchen staff came and removed all the identifying signs from the food buffet because apparently that needs to be done while people are up there to hurry you up so they can close early. This place has potential and maybe we just hot it on a bad night. read more

I am from San Gabriel Valley Los Angeles with Asian population 800k and best Asian food in the Us, so when I tried this Chinese buffet in this town, I did not expect too much, turned out the food is better than I expected. Soups were bad, fruit were ok, dessert below average, fry shrimp good, other hot Chinese good, service good, and price is around 7:30$ for lunch. I will repeat. read more

We have been here twice now. Both times the food was really good. Very fresh and hot. Have had a great selection of food to choose from. The restaurant was clean and the service was great. As soon as we put out plates over to be picked up, they were immediately picked up. Had the same server both times & she was very pleasant. I'm glad we didn't pay attention to a lot of the reviews. This used to be a family favorite before the Covid regulations and restrictions left this buffet struggling to accommodate its customers. The food is now served by the staff behind plastic. You have to get in line and tell the servers what you would like to eat. The portions are big and you can still eat all you can, though you have to get in line all over again. The servers and staff are all very professional and friendly. The place is super clean. The food is still great. My favorites are the noodles and fried rice, also their shrimp dishes are all great too. They have a couple of chicken dishes; sweet/sour and a stir-fry chicken of some sort. They had beef and broccoli but no veggies on the menu at all, people were asking if they could just have some of the broccoli picked out of the Beef and Broccoli dish, leaving just the beef and bits of broccoli left over for other customers. I didn't see any sort of salads, but they do serve ice cream and fresh fruit. I don't fault them for trying, but the limited menu items leaves much to be desired. The main dishes on the food line consisted mainly of a variety of shrimp dishes from sautéed to breaded and fried. I love shrimp, so I wasn't complaining, but I sure would have loved their green beans like they used to serve or more veggies to choose from, if not at least a salad. read more

As Chinese buffets go you can almost guarantee it's not going to be a super fancy 5 star meal. Be that as it may china king is an excellent established Chinese food buffet and compared to the rest of the all you can eat places in Roswell this one is on top of the game. Large quantities of your typical American Chinese food that everybody loves or hates. Very friendly service from the cashier to the cooks. If you come looking for a diamond in the rough you will be disappointed but if you come for typical delicious all you can eat food with a great friendly atmosphere you will never be disappointed. read more

Not very good. If you want a pretty damn good buffet that is constantly refreshed, and always hot, head down to Carlsbad and go to the one there. This place was constantly out of certain items, ,and a lot of them were barely warm. Nothing here was really hit the spot except the fried rice. Don't think I will be coming back here again. Many dishes appeared to have sat for a very long time, even though there were tons of people there. After eating a whole week of New Mexican food, I found on the way to Carlsbad, China King Super Buffet in Roswell. The outside looks like this rare Chinese food place is just that...bare, rare, and on its own, looking a bit forlorn and not very busy. BUT inside, is rather pretty, very clean with redwood looking furniture and a clean buffet with about 6 buffet stations with actual Chinese food. Not the really weird Chinese food like chicken feet but the normal Chinese food and some American style favorites. The first buffet table has stuff like vermicelli noodles, beef and broccoli, kung pao chicken, chow mein, fried rice, green onion dish, Next they have seafood buffet table: egg foo young, stuffed scallop, clam, fish, etc. Next buffet table: egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, eggrolls, fried wontons, spring rolls, all the fried stuff basically.. Next buffet table: salad, mandarin oranges, peaches, other canned fruit, etc. Next buffet table: cakes, desserts, pudding, etc. Next buffet table: sushi, sauces, wasabi, etc.. Anyway for $6.95 buffet for lunch, good deal. And it tasted good. The soup I think is always a good indicator if the place is a good place because Chinese soup or any soup for that matter is hard to make really well. Anyway, so gist is...clean, friendly staff, good price, taste is 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 for a super buffet. Drinks are separate price though except for water. read more

Went for dinner 2 nights ago. About as bad as it can get! Everything very bland in taste. Egg drop soup was white and like dish water. Worst issue was food was cooked but much of it was past cool, it was "stone cold" Young lady who waited table was very nice and I told her the issue she told cashier. Only thing that was acceptable were fried shrimp which were nice size but also cold. First lesson learned-never go to a Chinese place that makes you pay in advance. Will never eat at this one again... staff was friendly and profeasional, that is about as good as it gets. The food was barely warm although I will say that the fried shrimp was GOOD (still not hot enough). The Hot and Sour soup was well, not hot and sour soup..... they forgot the flavor. The beef and chicken were for the most part cooked well too. When I went it was pretty busy so you would expect the food to be free and hot. So far this is the best buffet I've found, for the money, in Roswell. I've been several times for both lunch and dinner and the offerings do change a bit for dinner; the most noticeable being the addition of spare ribs!!! There is a surprising volume of meat on their buffet, and it is consistently good. They even serve the good jasmine rice and there is more than one option for hot tea... I go with the Oolong. Oh yeah, the deserts are the common kind of dry cakes etc., but the ice cream is from tubs and not the usual soft serve which is very nice. read more

Tricky place to eat, and I live in Roswell. If you go right before, or during the lunch or dinner rush, you will get good food, consistently, at a good price. If you drop by at off-hours because 'you saw them covered up earlier' and now you think you're going to get a good table, FORGET IT. You are going to get ice-cold food, half-cooked food, etc. THIS IS A BUFFET restaurant, and the surge to refresh the bars are mainly during SURGE hours. Keep this in mind, before stopping. As for prices, excellent and affordable for what you get. Drinks separate. Service is good, and the establishment is clean. You can walk away with anywhere between a 1 and 4 star appreciation of them, based on WHEN YOU GO. Keep this in mind. We are staying at an rv park here in town and decided to give this buffet a try. The selection was poor. They had little sushi, no crawfish, no salt and pepper shrimp, no fried chicken wings or pot stickers. Alot of the dishes they had we're almost empty. They were in the process of refilling but just not the normal variety for Chinese buffet. What we did have tasted good but not the high quality we are used to. The plus side..it was less expensive than most Chinese buffets on a Saturday. read more
