Avoid them. Unreliable service, broken stuff, overcharging followed by ghosting. I have hired Kiki's Movers twice. The first time, to unload a U-Haul at a new apartment, was great and I was happy to book them again. The second time, to pack a U-Haul at an old place and unpack it at a new place in the same neighborhood, was disappointing. I booked four movers for a total of four hours. But between locations, three of them took a separate vehicle, stopped for lunch and drinks, and didn't show up at my new place for an hour. This left one of the workers by himself. While the workers themselves were nice, as I started unpacking I noticed that they damaged a lot of my stuff. My dresser was chipped, my wooden shelves were scratched up, several mason jars containing kitchen products were shattered on the sidewalk outside (I found this out after my dog stepped on broken glass), and my nice road bike was bent with its chain detached after they threw it haphazardly on top of other stuff in the U-Haul without tying it down. I would be willing to give Kiki's the benefit of the doubt on all of this stuff if they hadn't grossly overcharged me. Khris invoiced me about $200 over the agreed upon total. Because I'd had good experiences with Kiki's before and in retrospect was in the mode of "tired single young woman alone in an apartment and second-guessing her own math," I paid it and assumed they were right and I was wrong. I also tipped 50% because the regular workers were really nice and seemed to be putting up with a fairly stressful workplace situation (especially Henna, who did 2x as much work as the others). I should have asked more questions. When I looked over the invoice later and followed up about the overcharge, Khris assured me I would be reimbursed for the overcharge--and then ghosted me for a month. I really didn't want to have to post a negative review because I know that it's hard out here for small businesses. But after this whole ordeal, I believe that Kiki's inconsistency is by design. Kiki's is cheaper than almost any other option and when they work out it's fantastic. But there's a big risk, and the negative reviews are worth paying attention to if you have nice stuff that you don't want damaged or don't trust yourself to stand up to overcharges / unprofessionalism in the moment. Movers Beware! Foday and crew of 2 showed up 2 hours later than they said. We spoke at least two times before the move date to detail what exactly we were moving. Foday showed up with one small hand truck and some straps. The items to be moved were multiple boxes, furniture for a 2- bedroom, exercise equipment, office equipment, and an upright piano. Luckily, my building had one dolly to use and I wrangled up two furniture moving dollies from maintenance (which ended up "missing" by the conclusion of this service). Unprepared and also inexperienced. The swore up and down they've moved pianos, but didn't have the slightest clue what the were doing. They were insisting on rolling it on its small wheels (the legs and wheels on this piano are not made to be moved by just pushing it, it needs to have the legs removed and unit placed on a dolly). I spent over 30 minutes explaining this. Explaining how if they move it with the legs on it will snap. Eventually they said, "We'll do it however you want it, you're the customer." This clearly told me that never moved a piano. They also were completely unorganized. The 3 of them would pack a dolly and all walk down together to load the truck. I have moved 10x now and everytime, one guy stays on the truck to organize, one guy loads dollies and the rest move the dollies back and forth to the truck. Foday and one of the movers would be on the truck organizing while the 3rd guy was just standing outside the truck, empty handed. I asked him, would you like to come back up with me to the apartment and fill the dolly while they work. He said no, he'll stay. Such a waste of time. In the end, I (a disabled person using a scooter with my 3 year old sitting with me) would load carts and make trips back and forth to the truck to move things along as well as my 70- year old mother moving things to the truck. The job started at 11:30am (was set for 9am) and was supposed to be 4 hours (I had just done this exact move 1 year prior except with packing help and furniture assembly & it took 4 hours for 4 men). I expected maybe it take a little longer seeing it was 3 guys, I guessed 5 hours tops (no packing was needed at all, we wrapped EVERYTHING ourselves and no disassembling was needed). At 5:30pm I asked if it would be much longer because our loading dock would be closing at 7pm when the Concierge leaves. One of the movers said it shouldn't be much more than another hour. 3 hours passed, it's 8:30pm, the truck driver is there waiting to retrieve the truck and Concierge left (luckily providing me the access I need to finish this move) and these movers are no where near done. I argued with one of the guys and he ended up walking out. A 4- hour job turned into 11 hours. 11 hours of stress, more money than expected, and more distrust in the world. Kiki's Movers of Woonsocket, RI was hired to unload two pods for us at the end of October. I learned about them and got in touch with them initially through "Hire a Helper". When they contacted me they said that they could give me a better price if I went directly to them instead of though Hire a Helper. They promised me four people for the price of three after discussing the size of the unloading job and quoted for 3 hours. When the day came, only three people showed up at our house. I was told that the other person got sick and they couldn't find anyone to replace him. As a result the job took about an hour and a half monger than expected. This is when the problems started. My credit card was billed for the extra 1.5 hours for 3 people. In addition, they charged us for an overweight item. The overweight charge was for the entire weight of the item, not the amount it was over their limit. I spoke with the salesperson who originally quoted the job. He assured me that the overweight charge was too much and it would be reduced and refunded to my charge card. No refund ever came. I have tried to deal with them honestly and above board. They are now not even returning my calls. To say the least, I would not recommend them at all. read more

I hired them through U-Haul's www.movinghelp.com and I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received: 1.) They were scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. They showed up at 6:10 p.m. 2.) They were extremely slow and unprofessional. They didn't have proper tools to carry. They had no clue how to move the big furniture and appliances. Moving a refrigerator took an hour. 3.) They repeatedly said they are professional and they didn't want us to carry our boxes. 4.) They damaged walls. 5.) They finished the unload at 9:25 p.m. The other company had loaded the same furniture in 3 hours, and they did much more work with wrapping and securing the items. I was very happy with other company. 6.) Their supervisor communicated very unprofessional and kept asking for gratuity. He pushed me to enter the code at the end. I felt insecure not to do that. 7.) Since they were late, we delivered the u-haul truck a day after. 8.) We were overcharged, and our home was damaged. I contacted BBB to report them and they are not even registered there. We used your services for a recent move and had a terrible experience. The movers were 5 hours late and loaded our POD incorrectly. When we opened the pod with different movers it was clear there were issues. One flat screen TV was destroyed (they stacked TVs on top of each other and did not use all the moving blankets or pads provided). Our couch was damaged - cracked, chipped, and fabric ripped in several places. These are just a few of the things damaged. Kiki movers please make this right! read more

I used Kiki's to move back in May and they were great. They arrived on time and were extremely efficient in getting everything out and loaded into the truck within the allotted amount of time. When we unloaded a few days later there was a little extra time and they actually helped me put some of my furniture back together and to get everything I wanted down into the basement. Good movers overall, they packed up my truck well and efficiently so I had a smooth ride from Boston to Philly. One star off because I had specifically called early to confirm the time and suggested that if traffic from Providence is bad then they should leave early to get here on time - they still were 45 minutes late to the agreed upon time. read more

DO NOT USE www.moving help.com - This site is on UHaul's site DO NOT HIRE Kiki's Movers -- Dishonest owner...lied about the time, the staff and amount. The positive reviews were prior to the NEW OWNERS! I used these movers and would NOT use them again. The owner is completely disorganized. I called prior to the move and his messages were full so I couldn't leave a message. I finally caught him and he answered the phone. I explained his message box was full. Then verified with him the date and time of the moved and had requested three movers. He said yes it is scheduled and he would call me back. The day of the move no one was there at the assigned time of 8AM. I called and was lucky enough to catch him. He said it wasn't on his schedule and he didn't have the information. He said he could have 3 packers there. I texted him to verify and he didn't respond. I tried to hire another team last minute and he texted an hour later to say that they were going to come. I texted back never mind. His quick response. "Seriously I'm 15 minutes away!!" This was at 10:15. I texted okay. See you at 10:30 right? They did not show up until 12:30. The owner took one of the 3 packers off the job for 3 hours. AND IT CONTINUED...... Shame on me for not cancelling right away. read more

Do not use this company for anything if they even exist. The phone number is not real, after waiting 3 hours trying to reach a human on the phone, they finally cleared the full voicemail only to find out it's a man who knows nothing of the company but keeps getting calls. My payment went through yesterday, but my movers are now 2 hours late for a 3 hour gig, that's just insane. read more

I've used Kiki's twice. The first time they did an excellent job, showed up on time and really worked hard in the two hours we had them. Which is why we used them for a second move a year later. I wasn't as impressed the second move - they showed up around an hour late (cutting it close with our uhaul reservation for the day) and weren't as efficient with time. Overall ended up going about 45 minutes over the scheduled time and that was with two other guys/family friends helping with the moving consistently as well and myself/my roommate helping move smaller items. The guys took a fairly lengthy smoke break at one point. Granted they are good at what they do, they managed to get a large table through a small space and are good at arranging furniture in a uhaul. Some furniture items had a fair amount of scratches unfortunately but that isn't always possible to avoid I realize. The company seems to be hit or miss. We probably won't use them for our next move. read more
