This did happen to me once in the last six or so months I've lived here. My buddy and I had to go to Stockton for Zootopia, which had been out for months by that point. So, the only game in town means plan ahead. I've never seen it dead here before. So far. What do I know, these aren't the reviews you're looking for. Move along. Lol I do love reviewing the cinema though. Lodi 12 is usually a happening spot when I come. And it is at least competitive with other theatre chains in the area. It is part of the Santa Rosa Cinemas, a smaller family-run business that has, from what I can tell, a handful theatres in Central (and Ventura?) California. Though it's probably not much older than me, the building has a bit of a retro feel, with big lobby windows in a semi-circle and bright yellow marquee at night. I am a sucker for a retro cinema if you've read my other movie theatre reviews, but any cinema with character will be appreciated by me. The only upgrade I would prefer would be to get rid of the need to print a paper ticket, even if you buy online ahead of time. Whoever is cheaping out on a scanner for QR codes, get with it and save some trees. It would even be okay if they were old school ticket stubs for the nostalgia (I love cinema nostalgia and will go out of my way for it), at least they would look pretty in my novelty shadowbox, but nah, they're just receipt roll paper. Alas I digress; I don't like wasting time doing that when I could be in line for popcorn or taking a selfie with Heathcliff. Some auditoriums are nicer than others but I believe all have recliners and the little swivel tables that make me feel like a baby. I have not seen any evidence of wear and tear on the seats like in some of these pictures on here, eesh. They have multiple screens that utilize Dolby Atmos / Ultimate Digital Cinema surround sound, and at least one auditorium that has Real D 3D for the 3D enjoyers. As a four eyes, making myself a six eyes for the rare, usually James Cameron backed adventure is about all I care to partake of. Sound and screens are great and have been recently upgraded. I do enjoy coming here and feel the amenities are satisfactory. Snack and food selection is good, and the popcorn is fresh. They have a wine and beer kiosk as well, though we usually come after a meal and thus have not yet partaken of libations here. This cinema is in downtown Lodi, and does not have a parking lot. Street parking is usually not far away. Maybe see you later for another totally necessary screening of My Dad and His Son Baby Yoda. This is the way.

The only grumble I have is not providing the flavored cheeses like the other sister locations. You can purchase where that doesn't happen in the Santa Rosa theaters.

WOW has always been a favorite for our family, but this event really brought the whole community together. The museum was full of energy with kids running from activity to activity, experimenting, building, and just having fun learning without even realizing it. The raffle baskets were fantastic and way bigger than I expected. You could tell local businesses and supporters really showed up for this event. There were vendors set up, tons of hands on activities throughout the museum, and yes, free popcorn which automatically makes any kid event a win. What I love most about WOW is that it never feels overwhelming or overly structured. Kids are encouraged to explore, touch everything, and be curious. You can easily spend a few hours here and still not see it all. It is such an important space for downtown Lodi and a great reminder of how valuable places like this are for families. Fun, educational, and genuinely community-driven. We had a blast celebrating with the WOW museum!

Upon coming in, the front desk was very kind and helpful. The museum itself isn't too big nor too small, but has a lot of interesting exhibitions and activities for the kids to do along with a gift shop. My little cousins had a lot of fun and learned about frequency wave lengths, electricity, and some brain ticklers, amongst other things. I hope this little museum can one day offer more exhibitions for the littles, but we had an amazing time nonetheless!

Mom (and I) have Scottish heritage and she grew up with her Scottish Dad singing Highland songs to her and in turn sang them to me. So it would be an understatement to say this music was a very important component of Mom's funeral service. Dr. Pazo phoned me beforehand to get a sense of what the service would be like and what our musical requests were. He was compassionate, kind, and efficient at a time when I was in shock from my mom's death but needed to call on my executive functioning skills for funeral planning. Definitely a challenging time but I was so relieved that the bagpipes would be played at my mom's funeral. When the day arrived it was an incredibly moving and powerful experience to arrive at the graveside and see Dr. Pazo in his full regalia and hear the haunting sound of the resonant bagpipes which filled the air. The bagpipes and the beautiful songs Dr. Pazo played gave a weight and power, a somber honor to my mother's life that I and my family will always remember. We grateful for Dr. Pazo's artistry, empathy, and power as he played the bagpipes. Some time after mom's funeral I watched Queen Elizabeth's funeral. When I heard and saw the bagpipe procession, I said, "I think we had a better bagpipe player at mom's funeral." That's how great Dr. Pazo is! I attended the original tour in 2010 when it stopped in Stockton, so seeing it in Lodi is a complete treat. Most of this review will also apply to the other stops in the tour. The trophies were on display for pictures from 5PM-7PM so you had to get there a little early to ensure that you would be able to see the trophies. (All three of course..) They actually started letting people in early so it really doesn't hurt to get there early. You had to be inside the doors by 7 to make it in...they are not very forgiving when it comes to the time. Once you were inside they had you sit in the theater in order that you were in line, and let you watch highlights of the whole World Series while you were waiting. They took people back in rows of two, and then would fill those two rows up with people waiting outside. We probably waited 20 minutes outside and 40 inside, which was really awesome. Instead of a hour standing in line most of the time waiting was reliving the Series in a comfy chair. Bravo to whoever thought of that idea. The line moves pretty fast, they have their own "team" photographer who takes the picture or pictures you want (no touching the trophies themselves) but they try and discourage people from taking their own shots. The pictures end up online for you to order or do a digital download. You could also buy them there, we bought all three pictures we took for 50 bucks, it sounds like a lot but they turned out great and the first thing I did when I got home was scan them and turn them digital. So yes, it's all about publicity and probably a little about money but isn't everything? It's awesome to see ALL THREE trophies without the travel and special passes somewhere else. Totally worth the time, and just a reminder what an amazing time it is to be a San Francisco Giants Fan!! Orange and Black forever!!

Although the grounds are very nice the entire experience was a let down. The tasting room is very utilitarian and not at all what I expected for a comfortable wine tasting experience. Although there are a multitude of pleasant outdoor spaces to linger and lounge while sipping wine it seems set up and better suited to small groups of 10 or more. There's a restaurant in the main tasting room that was packed crowded. The offerings must be good. The ambiance was similar to a Cracker Barrel. There's lots of merchandise for sale and I was surprised how basic the place felt, nothing special. When we asked at the tasting counter if we could get a glass of the Petite Petit, the wine we were introduced to by friends, the answer was a very gruff and emphatic, NO. The man seemed annoyed we asked. It would have been nice to be offered an alternative. That really turned me off although we ended up buying two bottles anyway. So, Freakshow. Rather strange and peculiar labeling and marketing, but it does catch one's attention. I had to wonder if the inspiration came from the TV series American Horror Story of the same name? The Petite Petit is a deep hearty rich blend of red wine with a lot of depth. It isn't very expensive but the taste is both bold and rich. It was nice walking around the outdoor areas and gardens but there didn't seem to be much energy out there, maybe a weekday and/or too early in the days? I had to wonder if they get folks coming off I-5 since the major highway is so close. Hence the more basic tourist approach. In any case it's an OK place but in short order I was ready to move on to another winery.
