Flew and at nearby hotel and discovered this Turkish establishment while having lunch with a friend. The food was excellent especially over a pint and the service was excellent as well. However, I came back twice for dinner during that my stay and that is where my experiences with them were . The place is small seating is limited but both times I got seated by the window n the hostess recommended a now favorite drink with two different lamb dishes. Both were Excellent lamb chop and lamb Iskender. Both were excellent choice as I don't frequently order lamb dishes but the taste and flavor were delicious as well as the gin n tonic drink. Finished off both with desert n the service was excellent n attentive even when they were busy. Ambience was wonderful with people/party loud n laugher while enjoying their meal. I was seated indoors due to chilly weather and enjoyed my time. I will bring back my family n friends especially for dinner and hope the warm hostess and establishment are there.

My family had a fantastic experience here. The food was delicious, and the customer service was terrific! Would strongly recommend!

My boyfriend and I came to London on a Friday night from out of town--actually, from out of the country and wanted a decent dinner although it was getting late. We chose Kilikya because we had never tried Turkish food before and it would be open until midnight, awesome! When we got there, the manager (or what looked like the manager) greeted us and told us we would only be able to choose starters and simple mains for the chef to cook since they were closing in an a little over hour... Okay?? Sucky. But sure. That would never fly in America. We got our food--£6.95 Halloumi Cheese starter and the suggested £16.95 Chicken Shish dish and £23 Lamb Shish dish that the manager suggested since they were the most simple for the cooks to compile with over an hour left before close....(rather disappointing that we couldn't try something more different than the usual Mediterranean/Greek food that we have already tried in USA.) Anyway, food was pretty good. Therefore 3 stars. Not 5 because -- 1) they didn't even honor the 15% discount that's supposed to be given when someone checks in on Yelp. Gave some phony excuse that they don't offer it on weekends and that it was Saturday (when it was actually Friday that we dined there). Cool thanks, there goes your tip! :) -- basically if you go here, don't expect your yelp check-in offer to work. False advertisement. And 2) limited menu with over an hour left before close...and with added pressure to leave 30 min before they close by standing there near your table and watching you eat so they could press the bill on you and watch as you pay. Wtf?? Lol again, wouldn't fly in America. Maybe that's OK in England restaurant customer service, but I'm sure not used to it and am not here long enough to want to get accustomed to it.. Wouldn't come back even if the food was good. I'm all about good food AND decent to good customer service. That didn't hit the bar for the latter.

A delightful touch of Istanbul style sophistication overlooking St Katherine's Dock and enlivening this otherwise corporate backwater with it's style. Delicious food Lahmacun (finely minced lamb with herbs and tomato atop flatbread), stuffed peppers, melt in the mouth stuffed vine leaves, herb rich salads, tantalising pickles a myriad of Turkish street snacks with coffee, tea, juices also on offer. This cafe/take-away is perfect as a lunch stop or a post-work hangout with friends or family. Delightful service, indoor and outdoor seating (under cover too) plus disabled access underscore the Kilikya offer.

4* food, 4* location, service was good and would definitely go back again (especially as it is next to work). However I had a 15% discount which they wouldn't honour and gave some wishy excuse. I wouldn't mind if they apologised, but they didn't.

Very comfortable atmosphere, you could be a sommelier or only know that you like wine and feel welcome. You can also just treat it as a wine shop & pop in and grab a bottle

Passione Vino = "passion wine"…read more And, indeed that is the case over here on Leonard Street, at this gorgeous boutique Italian wine shop. My expectation was that I'd make a quick visit (on my list for ages), leave with a few interesting bottles of wine and be very happy to drink them at home with friends over dinner. And my expectations were FAR surpassed. WHOA, this place is excellent! I had about 20 minutes so I grabbed my pup for a walk with PV as my destination. The moment I walked in the door Luca (owner) popped up from the office all smiles (and smartly dressed in a gorgeous pink jumper!), greeted me (and my dog!) warmly and asked me what he could help with. I had vague instructions from my husband for a "mineraly" white, a "floral" white and then some bottles of red. I shared this information with Luca -- and he went to work. I could almost hear the gears turning in his brain as he readied the recommendations! He asked me price point (most bottles fall in the £15-30 range), and then began selecting some the thought would be good choices. Not only did he select them, but gave me an entire backstory on each one, the process in which they were made, the region of Italy, right down to the idiosyncrasies of the winemaker. I had no idea I'd be getting such a robust education, my only regret is that I didn't have more time to be regaled with the history of each! I settled on 5 bottles to bring back, and they were carefully wrapped in paper and placed in very nice canvas totes. This smart operation also does wine tastings and small plates (by reservation only) in their secret basement. Luca gave me the full tour, and of course -- that's the next on my list for the next time I have a smallish group to entertain. I can only imagine what a treat it would be. New favorite wine shop in London. If you like Italian wines, these are your guys and it will be worth your trip. *accepts credit cards.

It's…read morein the vaulted basement of a very old townhouse and accessed via a twisty staircase from the street. The Wine Library is divided into a vaulted area with some seats and stools by underlit shelves mounted on all the walls and a wine shop which is a large room filled with wine with a bookshelf at one end. The wines are all a little nicer and pricier than you'll find in most places and the bottles on display range from around £14 to around £400, with the expensive ones being a little dustier. You pick a wine from the shelf yourself and either take it away as you would in any normal shop or hand it to the person working there and it is opened and brought to where you are sitting with some glasses. If you drink your wine there, you are charged the same price as if you take it away but with a corkcage charge of £6 for full bottles and a £3 for half bottles, which is curious as the corks are the same size and so is the work involved in pulling them. They don't sell wine by glass although they have brandies and ports this way. You can also order a plate of around 7 cheeses which arrive with a basket of crackers and biscuits. The cheeses are to be honest very expensive and less than stellar. This is really an after work place, but not for long after work as they close at 8pm. The lighting is far too bright and more suited to reading, a conversation about business or a take it seriously wine tasting event than something more intimate. Think Alexanders, now imagine it with cream painted brickwork and bulkhead lights. The wines are good, what ambience there would have been was painted out. It may be what the owner intended, a place to try fine wines with little thought given to anything else, which is a shame really, because it could be so good.

While the rooftop was booked out for a private party, we were able to walk in to the basement bar and enjoy a full vaulted, brick-lined side-room to ourselves. The basement ambience reminded us of Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street crossed with Gordon's Wine bar at Embankment. We ordered the: - Bananaquit (Mount Gay Eclipse, vegan egg nog mix, discarded banana rum, pimento dram) £10.50 - Rufous Hummingbird (Buffalo Trace bourbon, Nixta corn liquor, Banane du Brasil, cocoa blanc, sotol, chocolate bitters) £11 Both drinks on the bird-themed menu were excellent. The Bananaquit, a cloudy drink served in a Nick and Nora goblet glass, tasted strongly of ripe bananas and creamy eggnog. It had lots of nutmeg on the nose from the fresh gratings on top. For those with a nut allergy, you're safe: the vegan eggnog is nut-free. It was a sweeter drink (my partner asked for the sweetest drink on the menu). The Rufous, served on the rocks in an old fashioned glass, was clear and lightly brown in colour. It was served topped with two fresh pansies, and carried hints of chocolate cake and sunny garden, with a stronger alcohol essence. I had not come across sotol before and learned it's a Mexican spirit distilled from herbs, similar to mezcal, though I can't say I specifically tasted it. We enjoyed the ambience of our private cellar room and after our drinks we explored up to the roof (gorgeous space!) and around the bottle shop in the front room. There were quite a few tempting specialty bottles (Ancho Reyes Verde chile poblano liqueur, anyone?) and good gift ideas (Dr. Squid squid ink gin from Cornwall). In the end we didn't make a purchase, but staff were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would definitely come here again.
