I was in town on business and staying at a Mobile Home/RV Park near Lake Wylie. I found it an impossible chore to refill the propane tanks in my RV without driving a minimum 25 minutes. Nothing more frustrating then having to burn diesel to get propane. I also found it impossible to get any decent advice on where I could get a refill. Not an exchange...a refill. Found a local named Mudhole on the job site from the area who told me about this little hidden gem. Killians Service Center. Not far from where I was staying and a route that involves absolutely no traffic. The guys that I dealt with were fast and friendly with the propane service and always willing to jump right on it when I came in. I hope this review helps another person on the lookout for propane. I am amazed this place doesn't have more reviews. I know there are a lot of "northerners" that have moved into the Lake Wylie / Clover / York area. Well, this place is a hidden gem for you folks. They have a VERY strong local following, but they even like my wife... a damn yankee from NY. LOL! These guys are great. I swear, its like taking a step back in time the way service used to be. They are full serve and they wash the windows and "check under the hood." For those of you under 30, that means they check your oil. Your oil is what you need to.... oh, never mind. :-) As to their service, they are honest and fairly priced. They are also a great place to get your tires. I got a set of 4 Firestone Touring tires on my Accord and they were less than $400 installed. read more

Open early...I got here at 7am and there were lots of folks already here! I had a slowly leaking tire (or so I thought) and the hubby sent me down the road to have it checked. It's a hometown fixture from what I've heard and the atmosphere is just what you'd expect and everyone was super friendly! I got my tire checked (and they didn't charge me because they couldn't find anything), enjoyed some retired ol' boys conversation, had a brief funny chat with Dan (one of the mainstays my husband says) and I was out in less than 30 minutes! Perfect. My tires came from here last year and I'm sure we'll be back. Full service gas station too, though I didn't need it this visit...just tickled me to see one of the guys run out to pump gas and clean the window..LOVE it! They have snacks, drinks and a coffee station ($1 a cup from a Keurig) and tobacco products too. I loved the old Coke cooler (I would've taken a picture, but the guys were hanging out in that corner!) Looked like the pick of the morning was honey buns and a Coke...What else would you expect? read more

Had a full front & rear brake job done by Killians today. Called at noon & they were able to schedule me at 2 pm & got the job done before the end of the day. I'm new to the area & like working with small shops that are honest & do good work. Got reference to Killians from a neighbor who's been using them for 20+ yrs. In March 2018, my husband took his truck to Killian's Service Center to get the oil changed. Their oil changing technician put a inch of oil in the new oil filter, screwed it back on the motor, put oil in the motor and then proceeded to crank his truck. He usually changes the oil himself but decided to have them do it. When the oil filter is on the bottom of the motor, you need to fill the oil filter all the way up before you put it back on the motor, if not, the engine will dry start. When they started his truck, it violently shook, knocked and rattled for a good minute. He saw this happen. When he complained about it, the owner (Joey) told him that is how they change oil - they do not put oil in the filter. He and Joey argued about the oil change. Afterwards, he told a few people around town about the oil change and apparently word got back to Joey. On June 21, 2018, two York County Sheriff deputies came to my house with a warrant for my husband's arrest for speeding and reckless driving that supposed happened 6 weeks earlier on May 16. No one had tried to pull him over and he had no tickets so we had no idea what was going on. He spent 11 hours in Moss Justice Center then we hired an attorney ($1200). At the first court date in July, the sheriff deputy presented the "evidence" - which was witness statements signed by Joey and the technician at Killian's stating my husband was speeding in front of their shop. The deputy stated he did not observe him speeding but signed the warrant based on the witness statements. There was no evidence, the magistrate threw the case out and expunged his record of the charge. So beware - not only can Killian's damage your vehicle when they change the oil but will retaliate if they don't like you telling others what they did. We have lived in Clover for 20 years and used Killian's multiple times under the previous owner, couldn't ask for better people. Obviously, that's no longer true. read more
