After waiting three long weeks for them to arrive, everything looked blurry and wrong the moment I put them on. When I returned to the store hoping for a refund, they flatly refused--no returns, no money back. Instead, they suggested I pay out of pocket for another exam as a "second opinion," with the vague promise they might help afterward. Frustrated but determined, I did exactly that with a different doctor, who confirmed I don't need any prescription at all. I sent them the new report as proof, expecting a full refund, but they still wouldn't budge. Their only concession was to let me turn the unnecessary glasses into sunglasses for a credit. With no other options left, I reluctantly took them up on that offer--only for it to drag on another three weeks with the glasses still not returned to me. It's obvious their initial exam was inaccurate, their staff refused to take responsibility, and corporate clearly doesn't care enough to make it right. I won't be going back, and I'd strongly advise anyone else to steer clear unless you're okay with the very real risk of being misled, overcharged, and left with no resolution.

There used to be an ajusshi back in the day & he retired recently, but he was always helping me & my mom. Then when I got married and dragged my husband to LA, I brought him here. ...now I have kids of my own and when my oldest daughter's summer camp mentioned that she said she couldn't see the board, without skipping a beat, I called Somi Optometry & made an appointment. Dr. Kim is a mom too so she was amazing with my oldest daughter. I was so scared my daughter would freak out, but Dr Somi did absolutely amazing with her and she was totally comfortable and super happy. Dr Kim didnt even say anything when my youngest was being loud in the exam room and running around (my husband took her outside with a promise of a lollipop) where most Dr's may have gotten upset and kicked us out, she spoke and paused between loud laughs and screams for her older sister lol. My was a little disappointed that she wasnt getting glasses bc she found ones she loves, but I am through the roof with happiness lol. Anyways, old or young, Dr. Somi is amazing and now I am proud to be bringing the third generation of my family to this family business.

What keeps me coming back isn't just the quality of service--it's the genuine warmth and kindness you feel every time you walk through the door. Everyone is welcoming, attentive, and truly cares about their customers. During my recent visit, I was once again reminded why I've stayed loyal to this place for so many years. The staff took great care of us and made the entire experience comfortable and pleasant. It's rare to find a business that consistently combines professionalism with such heartfelt customer service. I'm happy to see them doing well in their new location and wish them continued success for many years to come.

The owners and his wife were always incredibly kind, welcoming, and provided excellent service and fair pricing. Even after they moved to LA, I willingly made the long drive because of my trust in them. Their daughter became the optometrist a long time ago, and seeing her now made me realize how much time has passed and that the owners seem to be looking forward to retirement. Unfortunately, the customer service has severely deteriorated due to a middle-aged manager and a couple of senior staff members. This manager acts as if they own the place and has been consistently rude to both customers and new employees. I kept returning hoping it would improve, but every visit was uncomfortable. The breaking point was when a new employee correctly identified a lens mistake made by another staff member. Instead of being grateful, the manager publicly yelled at and took her anger out on that new employee right in front of customers. Seeing such unprofessional behavior made me decide never to return. I heard they recently moved locations again. If that same manager and those rude staff members are still working there, I strongly advise against going. The original owners built a wonderful business, but the current staff is completely ruining it.

The tech (didn't get her name) was also very nice and friendly. I wanted to give a 5 star review to Jeanette who helped me pick out my new glasses this time! She is the best! Full disclose, this review is regarding my experience only ordering glasses, no optometrist visit…read more TLDR: I got what I needed, but will keep looking for a different place for my family's needs. My toddler daughter needed glasses and we already had a prescription from her pediatric Ophthalmologist. I was searching for a place closer to home that carried toddler frames, because the recommendations from her pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Dohney eye institute in Pasadena were all in SGV. I called New Vision specifically asking about frames for my 20-month old and after being satisfied with their answers, made an appointment. However, their selection was disappointing and they didn't have the strap-on toddler frames, as I was told on the phone. I went with the only viable option reluctantly because I wanted to get the glasses and didn't want to waste more time. I gave them the prescription (in paper form) and they had trouble with their scanner so told me they'd give it back to me when we picked up the glasses. I asked if my daughter needed to be present, and they said yes. When glasses were ready, they texted me at 3:48 Friday asking me to make an appointment, and said they were closing at 4:15 and reopened on Monday. Had I been notified even a couple hours earlier, I could have rearranged my schedule instead of waiting until Monday. So that was disappointing. Finally when picking them up, my daughter tried them on but they didn't really do anything else so not sure why my daughter needed to be present or why I needed to make an appointment. And they also didn't have the paper prescription that I had been promised. The person giving me the glasses made zero effort and just told me how easy it is to request it again from the ophthalmologist office. I obviously know this. This just underscored to me that things aren't communicated properly about patient requests.
