My vision is the best it has ever been - especially in my left eye which is now 20/20 and he has practically eliminated any signs of Glaucoma. I recently visited this office after being advised to follow up with an ophthalmologist due to a scratched cornea. During my initial visit, LASIK was recommended, so I scheduled what I understood would be a consultation to see if I qualified. When I arrived, there seemed to be some confusion about the purpose of my appointment. I was told it was for a contact lens/eye exam, and even after explaining that I was there *specifically* for a LASIK consultation, I still ended up receiving a standard eye exam (I think? They didn't tell me anything lol, you'll see as I explain further). I may not fully understand how LASIK consultations are typically conducted, but there was very little communication throughout the visit about what was being done or why. One of the more frustrating parts of my experience was that I was not informed at any point--either before the appointment or during the visit--that my eyes would be dilated. I am legally blind and have been getting my eyes checked since I was a child (nearly 20 years) and I have not gotten my eyes dilated since I was a kid! When the drops were given, no one explained what they were or that they would dilate my eyes. I only realized this after my eyes became extremely sensitive to light and I got semi dizzy that I had to ask what was happening. There was also no guidance provided on what to expect afterward or how long the effects would last. Because of this, I was completely unprepared; I didn't have sunglasses and still needed to drive home. I was only given sunglasses after I specifically asked. So bizarre. I feel like regardless if this is common or not, this should be something communicated during the process... I also wouldn't have myself if I knew they were gonna dilate my eyes. After all of that, I still didn't receive much information about LASIK itself. I had to ask whether I even qualified, and the answer was given very casually without much explanation. If it weren't for me asking questions, I would've been given 0 information. Overall, the main issue was the lack of communication. I left feeling confused, unprepared, and not prioritized as a patient. While the office itself is clean and the staff wasn't unfriendly, clearer communication and better guidance throughout the process would have made a significant difference. Them sneaking in an eye exam on top of the "free" consultation, felt like they were just trying to make some money. For anyone considering this office, I would recommend coming prepared with questions and advocating for clear explanations during your visit. Otherwise, you're given nothing. read more

Dr. Reingold has been my eye doctor for a couple of years. His staff is always welcoming, the wait time is short and everyone is nice, yet professional. This is so because he obviously hires people who follow his philosophy concerning patient care. I recently had cataract surgery. He had me put it off for a couple of years, for which I'm grateful. I think he understood, the trepidation I had for having this procedure. He explained it in detail and made sure that it was something I wanted to do. He laid out the choices in lenses and mapped out the regiment of eye drops and recovery. He was patient and compassionate with my questions and fears. He went beyond my expectations in his follow up after each eye was done. Even to the extent of calling me after hours to make sure that my eye pressure post operation had equalized. As an older person, I see my share of doctors. Most encounters with them are factory-like, in and out, 5 minutes per visit and so on. I understand that, it's how our medical system has become. You get decent health care, but it's very depersonalized, with few doctors that you feel are connected to you as a person, as well as with your health. along with my GP doctor and dermatologist, Dr, Reingold is one of those doctors I remember from days of yore, who sees you as a human being, that takes the operative philosophy to "do no harm" to it's fullest extent, that sees you as more that a walking medical issue. I'm grateful to have Dr. Reingold and his staff look after my health. read more

The doctor does not wash his hands before touching your eyes with his bare hands. Watched it happen, then it happened to me. I didn't want to be rude. But please wash your hands before touching the patients. Watch the camera if you need proof. Eye manipulation is not cool, i get it's a practice, but please use common sense. read more

This is going to be an epic review, just saying: I adore Dr. Reingold and his staff. Being a patient here feels like being cared for by the best of the best. Allow me to go into some detail... Dr. Luong, who does my yearly exams, is not only knowledgeable and great at what she does but she has the most comforting demeanor. You feel truly seen by her (pun intended) when in her chair. She's also very informative, concise and direct which I appreciate! Karla and Anna work the front desk and are absolutely delightful! They are the first faces you see when you walk in the door and they always greet you with genuine smiles. They make you feel like no matter how long your wait may end up being (which has never been too long btw) you're are least sitting in a waiting room that is filled with their good energy! I've also witnessed them handle a challenging customer with grace and respect. Brava to them! Angela checks you out in the back desk when your appointment is over. Ngl, she gives off such a cool vibe, like you'd wanna just hang with her. She's also incredibly professional and supportive and caring. How do you give off that kind of energy by just checking someone out I have no idea, but she does it! Must be innate! Eduardo, omg... love Eduardo! I don't know his official title but in my head he is the educational transport/assist. He takes you to your room and asks you questions and preps you for your time with the Dr. He does a ton more but that's what I've witnessed in the little time I've spent with him. Eduardo is incredibly kind and caring. He makes you feel 100% comfortable and has such a precious spirit about him! I once asked him about the anatomy of the eyeball and he taught me all about it while using a fun plastic eyeball prop that he could take apart. Eduardo is the best. Darlene, she's great! I also don't know her official title but she makes you feel comfortable and assists Dr. R with his procedures. She's so friendly, too! And last but not least, we come to Dr. Reingold. Release the doves. Dr. Reingold is an absolute pro, fantastic at what he does and funny too! He has saved my eyes multiple times. A few years back, he once used tweezers to pull out a tiny piece of something that got stuck in my eyeball. It was bothering me for a few days prior and felt better instantly! Recently, he removed a very stubborn chalazion that had formed in my upper eyelid. He numbed my eye lids, flipped it up, cut it open and got it all out! He even made me laugh during the short procedure. Within 24 hrs, my eye felt so much better. Within 72 hours, I had regained full vision. (The chalazion had put pressure on my eye, causing things to be blurry). There's also no scarring on my outer eye lid. Perfection, Dr, Reingold, perfection! With the chalazion, I spent a good month and half of coming back to the office for checkups so I obviously go to know the staff. They all work well together and Dr. Reingold has created a wonderful office where you know you'll find exceptional care. My next appointment isn't for another year and I already know I'll miss the interactions. So... I highly recommend you hit up Dr. Reingold's Eye Center! read more

Disappointed with this place. Rude and making money off off patients, by saying they need to come in for more tests and charging for that($200+) and then being told I could have saved that if my primary Dr had sent for authorization, This after I paid out of pocket. Did not need glasses since I already had a pair, but was told my insurance allows $300 worth. Of course they collect the $300 from my insurance. When I questioned Dr Reingold, I was told to find another ophthalmologist, since they didn't want me as a patient. When I asked for my medical records I was told there is a fee for that. Like I said money making place. By the way Dr please rinse your mouth after having garlic for lunch. You are right up in Someone's face examining eyes, off putting when you stink of garlic breath. read more

I had a negative experience here the last time I came. I was here over 2 hours for no apparent reason. I gave them another try recently simply because they are 2 blocks from my house and I was in dire need of a new prescription. The doctor I saw was excellent and I was very pleased with the entire experience. My husband also comes here. He recently was having an issue with his vision and they did multiple tests and were very thorough looking for the issues and thankfully eliminating glaucoma. They have an excellent selection of frames from numerous brands and have various price points to fit your budget. They are also a VSP provider, so the discounts are good depending of your plan of course. I have several pairs of frames so I chose to just have new lenses put in a couple of pair for computer and distance. Nice and friendly service. Street parking only. read more

Call this place and made an appt. They said they where in the network. I asked them twice to make sure I was in the network and she said yes. Waited a month for an appt. When I got there they lied to me and said that it is going to be 60.00 to get an eye exam and your insurance is not going to cover it. I asked her why did you tell me this prior to me coming here and wasting my time? she that deal with your insurance, and you have to pay 80 percent. I walked out. The first time I ever met a doctor who is so warm and kind but more importantly he is so generous with his time with his patients. Dr Reingold has been extremely patient with us being that my mother does not speak English so I have to translate so he patiently waits for me to explain to her what her care needs are. Absolutely awful experience, severe age discrimination at this place. After my eye exam, which I waited over 45 minutes to be seen with an appointment, I was told I needed a prescription significantly higher than my current one even though I told the doctor it was straining my eyes and giving me a headache. She told me to try it for a week, I did but still had a headache from the strength, so I came back and asked for a lower prescription. The doctor refused, told me I don't know my own body and told me to leave. I argued a bit and tried to explain that my eyes have been straining with the new glasses but I am 19 years old and no one took me seriously. To top it off, on the way out the receptionist it's tauntingly said "should have brought your mommy with you". I will not be returning. read more
