I did not know that the dentist was not supposed to hurt before coming here. I've had 2 dentists before Dr.Benton, and can confidently say that Dr.Benton is the best one by a long shot. Her and her staff were super nice to me and took their time to understand me and my concerns. The cleaning was pretty painless with only some areas of pain but it was a lot lighter than my past dentists. I got a mouth cancer screening and an X-ray and the staff were so patient with me. read more

Dentist and the cleaning technicians are nice and they seem to do a good job. That said they push essential oils at the front which is weird and kind of a red flag for any legitimate health care provider. They also take blood pressure at the beginning of every cleaning-- not sure why and their cleaning technician have a nonsensical answer why. I don't mind I guess, I just wish they could better explain what they do with that information since it's the only dentist out of 5-6 that I've been to that does this. read more

Dr. Benton is an amazing dentist! My family and I all swear by her, and I myself have been a patient of hers for most of my life. Through that time, I have never once had anything short of a great experience when stopping in for various dental appointments. Dr. Benton and her team are some of the kindest, most professional folks I have ever met. While going to the dentist is a topic of dread for a lot of people, I've always felt very relaxed and cared for. Dr. Benton is incredibly warm and personable and has become a family friend to us over the years. She is always so thoughtful about checking in regarding the family, and also shares fun stories (and great jazz music recommendations, too!) Said jazz music is usually playing softly in the background, so I often feel lulled into a zen state while going through the appointment. Other staff I have met (not sure if they prefer their names on Yelp) who provide care and manage the front desk respectively, are also super chill and welcoming. During appointments, I'm always satisfied by both preventative care practices (holistic health reminders, x-rays, cleanings, reminders to use floss thread vs. sticks to get plaque, oral cancer screenings, etc) and have always left with any concerns addressed and resolved (tooth aches, cavities, need for Invisalign style retainers etc.) The office also sends text reminders in advance of appointments, which is really helpful given my crazy work schedule. They respond very quickly to voicemails and texts, which has been super convenient for setting up appointments or asking questions. They also practice good safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic, verifying via text and in person that patients haven't traveled, don't have symptoms, and are of a normal temperature. I could gush on and on about Dr. Benton and her practice, but will end by saying that I recommend her to anyone looking for an effective, kind, and professional dentist! read more

Thank you Dr. Benton and her great Dental practice! I am so grateful for her office having weekend appointments since I was In need of some help with the source of my pain. I wasn't sure if I had once again cracked another tooth. I've done in the past, so I called early on a Saturday morning and left a message. Dr. Benton called me back and fit me in right away. She took some x-rays and told me I had not cracked a tooth but unfortunately was dealing with TMJ symptoms. I smash my teeth at night as if I were The Hulk. She discussed ways that I could ease the pain at home. She wanted me to get on the road to recovery quickly, of course. It is important to note that this pain was so severe that it radiated up one side of my head and down my neck. I had been seen by Urgent Care 2x already and the doctors thought I had an earache- I did not. I had purchased medication for infections I did not have. Just seeing and talking with Dr. Benton put my mind at ease. The confidence that she had was more reassuring than the visits I had at urgent care. I am so grateful to be one of her patients . If I could use two words to describe this office, it's confidence and care. Dr. Benton and her staff are so incredibly kind, effective, and professional. I tend to have a lot of dental issues, and I struggled for a long time to find a dental office that made me feel looked after. Dr. Benton and her staff (especially Hazel!) have been SO wonderful in helping me address the issues one-by-one, without making me feel like it was all my fault for getting myself into these situations. I had a crown that came off after many years, and Dr. Benton replaced it with very little pain. It fits so perfectly and I don't think I've ever had a crown fit so well in my bite. You can just feel Dr. Benton's wealth of experience in the way she speaks and moves around your mouth. It's calm, it's focused, it's thoughtful. Dr. Kim Lucas Benton is ABSOLUTELY Fantastic! She is professional, gentle and has a wonderful knowledge regarding dental health! But most of all she's sweet, and has a wonderful personality. "I enjoy going to the Dentist" (said no one ever) but I can tell you it is truly a joy to now go to the dentist! I really appreciate a Dentist who is gentle with my mouth/teeth and Dr. Kim Benton is mindful when doing any dental procedure. I've received 2 cleanings, 1 crown and 4 fillings, all went well with no remaining concerns. Since my teeth are tighter than they should be flossing is tricky, which is why I get more cavities than expected- In the past I've seen Dentist's who make me feel so bad for having cavities but Dr. Kim Benton definitely does not! Her team works well with her, and I also enjoy her dental assistant (not sure of her name?). Another great addition to her practice is the updated technology, every time I go in something new is tried on my mouth for maximum comfort, which makes me feel even more relaxed. I get nervous about dentists, which I know is ridiculous but I just do, and she was really gentle and didn't rush and had a real calming demeanor. I went to many dentist and I never compelled to write a review for any. But, Dr. Benton is absolutely awesome. When I told her that I am scared of needle, I'm sure she did not think I am that embarrassingly scared. I was unconsciously moved my head with my mouth open to avoid the incoming needle She was understanding and very gentle. I'm glad, it's only twice a year. She has unforgiving $25 cancellation fee for cancelling appointment less than 48 hours. To be fair though, she reminds you 4 weeks prior to the day and really hunt for your confirmation. read more

I just had my teeth whitened (LumiBrite Professional Treatment) at Dr. Benton's office and had an excellent experience! I was greeted very warmly upon entering her office and was lucky enough to meet her husband who happened to be in the office; a great guy btw. Dr. Benton then walked me through the necessary paperwork and details. Before the whitening procedure began, Dr. Benton performed a quick examination to ensure that my current dental health was in adequate condition for the whitening procedure. She also gave me a great consult after my examination even though I am not a regular patient of hers (however after this experience, I think I'm a convert!) When the procedure began, her Dental Hygienist, Jasmine, walked me through the whole procedure step-by-step so I knew what to expect. This was very comforting and reassuring since this was my first professional whitening. Once the procedure began, Jasmine was extremely thorough and prepped me very well. During the procedure, my comfort was constantly monitored since these procedures can induce some tooth sensitivity or pain. I am happy to report that I had little to no sensitivity during or after the procedure thanks to Jasmine's excellent prep work which protected my gums and teeth! Overall an excellent experience (5 shades whiter!) and I couldn't ask for more. I would definitely recommend Dr. Benton and her office to my friends and family! I've been going to Dr Benton for about a decade. She and her staff are always very delightful! She's an exceptional dentist who's highly proficient in multiple procedures. She works very gently and meticulously. I've done Invisalign with her, as well as cleanings and crown work. She does it all! She's also such a joy to talk to. She's extremely good with children too. I saw Dr Benton this morning and felt compelled to write this review as soon as I could get home and on my computer. Long story short Dr Benton is super charming and personable - a joy to deal with and she advised me on the appropriate way forward and I left the office happy and in a good mood. That's saying something cos when I arrived I was frazzled and grumpy (apologies to Adriana, the front desk lady - my Uber dropped me off in the wrong place and I was grumpy at check-in. You all are great). I am not having my treatment done there but Dr B referred me to her recommended specialist and I am on my way finally to finding a solution for my dental issues. Tried to make an appointment and ran into major problems. Adriana was rude and treated us with contempt. We asked to speak to the office manager and she refused our request. Bottom line, she would not file the paperwork to have prior x-rays transferred and then threatened us. Best dentist hands down without a doubt. Very modern and up to date with all the new dentist equipment and options. Very friendly and courteous staff. I used to go to a dentist which was close to my residence. Worst move I could have ever made!!! I guess you don't realize how good you've had it until its too late. Dr. Benton doesn't want to take your money, she wants you to know everything you need to know that will help and benefit you in the short and long term. That's priceless!!! Perfect example. If you go to a county dentist, (What is a county dentist you ask?) I'll tell you. If the dentist has the name of the city in it's name. "County Dentist". If you go to a dentist and there is more than 10 operating chairs in the building. "County Dentist". They'll look at your x-rays and if something does not look right they'll say "we have to pull your tooth". If you have a toothache "Pull It". If you have a chipped tooth "Pull It", If you have broccoli in your tooth and you can't get it out. "Pull it". The reason I can say this is because I went through that exact ordeal, and the first thing out the dentist mouth was..."We need to extract your tooth sir". Dentist Terminology. "Naaaa, I think I'll get a second opinion". Dr. Benton will try to do everything she can to save that tooth and keep you smiling. With all that said, I live in the east bay now, but I have no problems driving to Daly City to see my dentist twice a year for my check ups and cleanings. I will be coming here till I grow old and frail. Then Dr. Benton will hook me up with some futuristic dentures. LoL. p.s.- To the grumpy Jon guy with the negative review. Cleanings don't make your teeth whiter, they make your teeth healthier and strong. Teeth whitening treatments make your teeth whiter... Dr. Benton and her staff are as good as it gets! I was referred to this office by a friend after I had a bad experience with my old dentist, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Dr. Benton has been extra patient with me as I expressed all of my concerns about my teeth and some issues I've been having. She and her staff really take the time to explain every little thing without making you feel rushed at all. Fraud! Incompetent! This dentist, Kimberly Lucas Benton, is unscrupulous. I don't want to call her doctor because she does not deserve that title. She does not care about her patient and only cares about money. She charged me and the insurance company for a dental cleaning at the first visit when she did not do it. She forced me to come back for two more visits for cleaning and charged me and the insurance company for those visits as well. The worse part was she did a horrible job cleaning my teeth cause I still saw stains and plaques after the three "thorough" cleanings. I actually developed dental pain only one week after her three "thorough" cleanings. I went to another dentist, received a thorough cleaning and treatment, and now my teeth are perfect. Hands down, the BEST and I mean THEE BEST dentist I've ever been to in my life. I am 27 years old, and I usually get really nervous about Dentist visits... not this time. I'm a new patient at Dr. Benton's office and they took very good care of me from the start. I would imagine if you needed to be in and out, they are very efficient. However I was there for a couple hours as I had a ton of questions (and needed to work out a quick issue with my FSA card which they were so gracious to let me use their conference office and phone to resolve the issue since my cell died in the office.) I never had a dentist answer each question I had so thoroughly. From the receptioniststs, to the lady who x-rayed/cleaned my teeth (which by the way the cleaning was thorough too!) to Dr. Benton, the entire experience was beyond pleasurable. Very negative customer service experience. I've been to plenty of dentists in my life and they're typically always pretty understanding and willing to work with patients on billing matters as well as just understanding that life happens in general. I cancelled my Friday 4pm appointment at 8am on Thursday and they refused to allow me to reschedule without a astronomical $100 cancellation fee. Needless to say, I'll take my business elsewhere especially given the first cleaning I had was nothing remarkable and I found the office setup rather tacky compared to other dentist offices I've visited. read more

Terrific service!! Purchased a GroupOn teeth whitening and was able to make appt for the same day, very lucky. I found the staff to be very freindly, curteous, and professional. Dr. Kim was even more so. Very personable, friendly, no pretentiousness about her at all. After reading a number of reviews of other providers offering teeth whitening on GroupOn, I was expecting so sort of upsell. Not the case at all. Dr. Kim told me exactly was to expect, how long it would take, then did a very quick exam. Her assistant did most all of the whitening, understandably. I kept asking myself, "Ok when is the Upsell" It never happened, did not try to sell me extra services for "Sensitivity" or anything else for that matter. She's pretty attentive to your needs, but it helps her to point out the tiny details, because she dosn't feel what you feel, and if you tell her, the service is that much better! Michelle, who took my appointment was so sweet, and helped me accommodate with getting into the office on a short notice. When I walked in, she greeted me, and was so helpful with the paperwork, and just so nice. Jasmine, who was Dr. Benton's dental assistant was awesome with taking my x-rays, and just being gentle with my teeth, and getting my dental history. Overall, the office staff was so kind, and I felt so comfortable there. Dr. Kim Benton is so gentle, sweet, and made me feel comfortable with my first visit. She was also very informative, and just helped with whatever questions that I had during my appointment. She took her time, and was so thorough. Dr. Benton is the best dentist I've ever received care from. She communicates costs very well ahead of time, doesn't try to up-sell anything, she and her staff are all super friendly and helpful, none of them have bad breath, but most important of all, I've been there 5 or 6 times and they are on time EVERY single visit. By "on time" I mean they take me right back and get started. With most dentists I have to wait for awhile to get taken back, and then I wait even longer back in a chair waiting for someone to get to work. I give them a huge recommendation. I received veneers, whitening, and general care. One of my veneers later chipped and they got me in quickly, put on a temporary crown, replaced it with a permanent veneer, and didn't charge me anything for it (even though the chip was my fault). I have had major dental anxiety since my last dentist, actually my previous 2 dentists. I was referred to Dr. Benton by a friend who raved about Dr. Benton. So I decided to give her a try. After the initial cleaning, x-rays and exam I walked away with a smile on my face. They were all so nice! I was so happy that I was never shamed about my teeth (which I have been in the past) it was just positive vibes the whole time. But I didn't want to rate her on yelp until I had work done so I could give a thorough review. Today, I had a filling that had chipped fixed. My previous dentist wanted to remove the whole filing, do a root canal and a crown. Dr. Benton was confident that a conservative approach, just fixing the small issue (repairing the chip) would be an appropriate fix. Thank heaven! Not only was it done quickly, it was very affordable. Dr. Benton uses a dental hygienist which, in my experience leads to a much more thorough cleaning & she uses dental assistants which leads to a far more comfortable experience than a dentist who is cutting corners doing everything on their own.
