I had a procedure done here and pre-paid for two cleanings. After my follow-up visit, I scheduled my cleaning at the front desk without any issues. LESS THAN 26 HRS before my appointment, I received a voicemail stating it had been cancelled because the hygienist was sick. I didn't even get the chance to listen to it until later that evening. I understand things come up. What followed, however, is the issue. I called the office the next day to reschedule and was told there were a couple of openings the following day. I asked if one of the times could be tentatively held while I confirmed with my employer. Instead of a simple courtesy hold, I was told they would go ahead and schedule the appointment. I clarified that I was not confirming yet and needed to check first, and that I would call right back. That then shifted to "we can't hold appointments." What stood out most was the clear DOUBLE STANDARD. They have a strict 72-hour cancellation/rescheduling policy with fees for patients, yet when the office cancels on you with less than a day's notice, there's no comparable flexibility or consideration offered. Even a basic request to briefly hold a time slot while I confirmed my schedule was REFUSED. To make matters worse, I was told I WOULD STILL BE CHARGED A CANCELLATION FEE if I just booked the appointment, my employer said I couldn't get the time off, and called the dental office back to and cancelled the appointment--even though they CANCELLED ON ME IN THE FIRST PLACE. At that point, I chose not to book. The entire experience felt rigid and one-sided, with very little regard for the inconvenience they caused me when I schedule this appointment two weeks in advance. I called back the next day after cooling off, hoping the slot might still be available. It wasn't. The next opening was two weeks out. The handling of the situation felt unnecessarily INFLEXIBLE and, frankly, UNACCEPTABLE . Not sure who this person was that I spoke with but wasn't the usual receptionist. read more

Don't let the reviews fool you. Dr. Jones is an incompetent dentist. I've been in so much pain and spent so much money because he can't even do a proper root canal. He rushed through the root canal. Thereafter, he put in a crown. Afterwards, I keep telling him the tooth did not feel right and his only solution was to remove it and put in an implant. Every time I ask a simple question, he would sigh like I'm bothering him. I went to another dentist and they told me immediately that the root canal was not properly done which caused an infection, and that's why my tooth did not feel right. Did I need implants then? Nope! The dentist was able to drill through the crown and tooth to get to the infection and properly fix it. 4 hours of suffering and $3,000 to fix what Dr Jones fuked up. read more

I have been going to Pacific Sky Dental for years after a long hiatus of not going to a dentist. I have received all sorts of care from cleaning, tooth extraction, wisdom teeth extraction, Invisalign, teeth implants and many aftercare services. First, front office is great. Very personable and helpful. Appointment is always on time. I think I can only remember 2 appointments where they were late. One was because it was a last minute appointment and second was the Dr got held up dealing with another patient but I was already seated and updated by the assistants. Oh yea appointments are easy to get. Second, the place is clean and easy parking. Third, hygienists are all great. They know how to care for your teeth. All the dentists have all been great and efficient. The dental assistants are great for the most part. You can tell who's experienced and still learning. The dental assistant who assisted Dr Chu during my wisdom teeth extraction was not great. Pretty much didn't clean up my bloody mouth. Thankfully another one stepped in and made sure I was all clean. I don't think the newbie assistant is there anymore. One thing that would be better is more aftercare tips. I know I can ask questions but it would be helpful if I was given instructions. I've recommended this place to people because it's a good one stop shop for all services. My kids used to go here which was good for the most part but since my kids are young, we found a pediatric dentist to go to. Definitely recommend this place. read more

My experience today was much more pleasant. I was greeted by the regular receptionist (the one with a bright smile-sorry, horrible with names). Friendliness is extremely important because that already lightened up the mood and environment. Dr. Jones came into the room and explained the whole procedure. He also told me the tooth only has a 15% chance of root canal. He was very quick during the whole procedure. When he mentioned that there will be a sour taste, I didn't even notice it. During my previous fillings, Dr. Ma got the sour substance all over my mouth to the point of gagging. Dr. Jones is much more knowledgeable and far more gentle. I was debating very hard to knock off one star because my experience today was great, but I can't get over the false alarm on my tooth needing a root canal. I do take back my words that they don't care about their patients. Dr. Jones called twice to see how he can fix the problem and offered me a solution. He wanted to provide me a 5 star service, which he did. His assistant (sorry, bad with names) was also very friendly and attentive. The facilities are great, with TVs on both the walls and ceilings to keep you occupied while tools are in your mouth. My experience with the hygenists were also great. They are the reasons Pacific Sky gets any stars at all. It only takes one inconsiderate person to ruin my opinion of a business. Dr. Eveline must've forgotten at some point that I was an able-bodied human being that she can use words to communicate with, because she kept shoving the suction tube down my tongue. The more aggressive she got with it, the more my tongue reflexively came out. At no point did she explain what she was doing with the suction until I got so frustrated that I raised my hand so she could full stop, and I said, "You're shoving the tube down my mouth." No apology for her unnecessary aggressive handling, she just looked at me with a dumbfounded face saying, "Your tongue was coming out." She could've stopped and told me my tongue kept coming out instead of just shoving it back down my throat. I don't even wanna know how she treats animals if this is how she treats paying patients she can TALK to. You'd think after this first time, I wouldn't have gone back, right? My dumb ass chose convenience because it's the closest well-rated dental practice to my house with decent parking options. I thought, "It'll be fine as long as I request a different dentist." I called and asked for a different dentist for my next cleaning, and on the phone they assured me it would just be a hygienist doing the cleaning. Great, works for me, as long as it isn't Dr. Eveline. 40 minutes into my cleaning, guess who decides to walk into my office? I don't know if the front desk had told her I requested someone different and she showed up out of spite or what, but I was anxious the entire time she was there. Worst dental experience I have ever had! The only thing they care about is the money, I wish I could give a 0 star. I have never left a negative comment like this. But if you are looking at this comment, try to avoid them by all means! I called the office to ask about putting back a crown that has recently fallen from my implants. They told me to come to the office. Since I am pregnant, I refused to take an X-Ray. However, without my consent of the purpose and price, they took pictures of my teeth, which later they wanted to charge money for. Then Dr Kode looked at my teeth and told me there is nothing she can do. She can not even tell the brand of the implant. (I went to another dental practice later and the doctor easily tell it is a Straumann brand.) Dr Kode asked me to come back again tomorrow. The next day I went there again, Dr Jone told me he can put the fallen crown back. But that is not covered by insurance, I can either pay cash or use Orthodontics benefits (which later I found out is much higher price than it should be). Without telling me that anesthesia will be used in the treatment and the nurse directly put some tropical anesthesia on my teeth. Dr Jone was trying to inject more anesthesia into the teeth. I quickly refused and was angry because I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and don't want to use any medication, especially without my consent! Later they billed me oral exam, oral photograph, oral consultation, palliative treatment of dental pain (I felt no pain at all!). I received nothing but the fear to use anesthesia and a waste of time (two mornings)! They kept harassing me because the insurance company has denied their claims! I have disputed the claims and will further report to the California Dental Association if they keep harassing me for services I did not consent to receive! Worst experience! read more
