Three weeks ago my blood pressure meds were about to run out and my last doctor had retired so I needed a new prescription. Palms like others uses a portal to communicate. So I went on the portal and wrote a detailed message about how my meds were running out and asked what did I need to do to get a new prescription-did I need blood work, did I need an office visit? Nothing, no reply. So 3 days later I start calling the office at 11:30 am. Had to leave a VM. Left a detailed VM and no one called me back until 4:50 pm office closes at 5 pm. Nurse that called me back starts with "Well I see you have not been in since Dec 2025, I said NO I have been there at least 4 times in 2026. When I told her what I needed she said "oh you need to talk to scheduling-click-transfers me to scheduling that said the same thing, "well you have not been here since Dec 2025" I said NO. She asked what kind of appointment I needed and I told her I did not know that the nurse transferred me without discussing anything, she said well I need to know that. It was now after 5 pm and the office was close. Instead of leaving another VM and waiting 8 hours for an answer the next morning I had to drive to the office (because they can't seem to respond to the high dollar portal they have set up) an told the office manager all of this, she made me an appointment 2 wks out for a physical which I am guessing included blood work. Today after answering at least FOUR text messages starting a week ago reminding me to show up at 8:30 for my appointment today I go to the office arriving at 8:02 for my 8:20 appointment. After sitting in the exam room from 8:20 until 9 AM I left a written note and got up and left. As I was walking out the hall to leave the PA called out to me and I told her I just sat in there for FORTY MINUTES waiting on her and was now leaving as it appears my time is NOT as valuable as her time. Going to my insurance company today to find another primary care doctor. This is at least the second time they never check the messages I send them thru the portal.

My wife and I both go to High Springs. Really happy with Dr. Burkett and her care. Concerned about…read morepoor response and appoint. My wife has been trying to make an appoint. for months. Told she had to wait till closer to the time. By then it was too late. Fully booked for months out. She needs her medication. Has called and left messages with no luck.
