This is a place that I have gone to many times, and I've never been disappointed. If I'm going to speak my truth, that requires that I be honest: when I order from here, I pretend that it's for a whole group of people, but it's actually all for me. I have definitely pretended to make a call to see if "someone" wants something, but it's me--I'm the one that wants that something. The menu is so enticing, what is a person who eats his feelings to do? Their hamburger is awesome, the tuna melt is awesome, the quesadilla is awesome, the baked potato pizza is REEEEdiculous, and their special Potato Salad is just that -- special. Great food and servers. Food is always hot and yummy! Never have been disappointed. Made me a thin crust pizza even though not on the menu. Has a bar if you drink beer and wine. Quite a few on tap. Having driven by this several times, it never really stuck out as a "must try." It was more of a "Eh, maybe someday." Out-of-state company in town made for a prime opportunity to try it. Although it was our first time there, it will *not* be our last. As fantastic as the service was (and admittedly, some of us can be a smidge picky), the food was even better! We weren't sure which dishes might be best to try, so we took the staff recommendations and didn't regret a single bite. The atmosphere and music along with sports on televisions were nice. The service is slow. The food was mixed bag. The nachos are really good and could use a salsa vs pico sauce. The salads are sort of so-so. Beer is reasonably priced. A mixed drink with rail alcohol was $10.00. A veteran's discount was advertised on the door as you exit. Almost everything is homemade and delicious. Your typical sports pub menu but with quite a few fun options. Fries and onion rings are the best around. Nothing fancy but good food at great prices. They feature a mix of local hot sauces too. I came here as a vegetarian and there were plenty of options. Now visiting as a vegan they don't have any specific vegan options (not exactly the place one would expect) but are extremely accommodating and allow me to custom make a sub with whatever I would like. The manager or owner has been there every time we have visited and is helping out, running food to tables and answering phones. My wife was hungry for a hamburger and found this place for a late lunch on Saturday. I may have driven pay it a couple times in the past year, but never took notice. But I'll notice it now! The food was goooood, definitely lived up to its rating, which will bring us back again. Con: limited seating - this is half bat / half restaurant, the half that was restaurant was half high tops have booth seating. Not a major concern, as my kids love sitting at high tops, but a family with a baby might find themselves waiting for a table. Con: cheese - all of our sandwiches had cheese, none of which were melted well. I get it, they were busy, trying to push through, but i would have sauteed another minute for well melted cheese. Not a deterrent by any means however. Pro: well lit, even for a tavern / sports bar / family restaurant - ambiance is 25% Of the experience ... with all the sports games on i dent right at home Pro: diverse menu, everything looked good, couldn't decide what i wanted - chose a steak and cheese that featured steak tips! Got it loaded up with additional toppings at no extra charge. (Picked the wrong time to stop drinking, their drinks menu offed a plethora of options). Will definitely be back!! read more

The Cav'ern is a great family restaurant and Ale house/Sports Pub. No hard liquor is sold here. The menu is fantastic, and the pizza is delicious. I'm a big fan of their cheese fries and coconut tenders, they offer a good selection of burgers and other apps, everyday there's a beer special for $2 sometimes we get lucky with a craft selection. More off the Cav'ern is a community local friends and sports fans. read more

We've lived in Pembroke for over a decade and have passed by Kimball's Cav'ern many times. Well we finally stopped. How could we not since we live nearby. We were pleasantly surprised. Everything feels new and clean with other locals enjoying themselves. We ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza with a couple of their $2 draft beers. Delicious! We will be back to try some more things off their menu. The Bartender/Manager was very friendly and stopped to chat a little. I was thinking it would be a great place to work for some extra cash. Absolutely amazing. They have it all, great food, great drinks, and great TVs to watch the Boston teams play. I ordered the haddock plate, and the fish was amazing even though the skin was not as crispy. The coleslaw was fresh, and the spicy fries had just enough kick for the average person. This place is solid, I've been there so many times I lost count. The staff is great. The bar is great. They hire locals and they are very nice. I know many of them from around town. The kitchen can get a little backed up but the wait is not so bad when you have tv's all around you, good friends and drinks! I've had the tuna melt, pizza, burgers, pats basket, the 603, but I keep coming back for the chicken basket tossed in BBQ with the waffle fries. read more

I have a review on here calling Pizza Market the best pizza in town well.. I have to change my mind. This is the first time I've ordered food from Kimballs and they didn't disappoint. Excellent pizza and I also ordered the Pat Basket and that was also outstanding. Big Thumbs up!! I was waited on fairly quick and they were nice to me. If I have any feedback to give I thought the size of the pizza was a bit small for the price and the floors in the place looked dirty. All in all great food and I will certainly order again. I called and order a sub for takeout was told it would be ready in 15 min. When i got there 20 mins later they forgot to put the order in. I didnt receive an apology, and ask what i wanted on it. Finally pulled in to the parking lot at Kimballs Cavern after driving past it for the better part of 3 years. 1st impression is that of a standard sports bar. Lots of TV's, a few video games. The placemat and menu are one and the same. Service was prompt and pleasant. Our server could have been more engaging, but at 7pm on a Sunday (when they close at 8) I did not blame her. Good drink specials and half price apps in the evening. I should have stuck with the apps. Not that my entree was bad, but the Loaded Tater tots were outstanding! Everything else paled in comparison. I got a tuna melt on rye. The bread was good, tuna fish was meh. I am a sucker for a good tuna melt, and this missed the mark. But to be honest, the Tots made up for EVERYTHING. Perfectly crispy, with cheese sauce and sour cream, topped with chewy bacon and scallions, and they do not skimp on portion size. I will definitely be returning as there are some intriguing desserts and I really want to know what a "Smacker" is. read more

We went to the newly reopened Kimball's CAV'ern last night for dinner, and were not impressed. The seating is very limited, despite what the size of the parking lot would indicate - there are rows of booths on the left-hand side, with only tall-tables and a bar on the right. Our waitress (near the tall tables) was slow, although since she also seemed to split bar tending duties I guess this isn't directly her fault. My wife got the Italian sandwich, which was good (as is always had been.) I got the burger and fries on white bread - it was soggy, and the fries were greasy and undercooked. I wouldn't go back for the burger again. They seemed to have a pretty decent beer selection, and they have a whole bank of televisions, which would seem to make it a good place to catch a game. The music was played through one of those electronic jukeboxes throughout the bar - the songs were awful (Neil Diamond and Nickelback, anyone?) There were 5 or 6 different games on the TV - why not pipe in audio from one of those? Most of the patrons were in there mid-late 40's, and half in the bag even though it was only 7:30. There's a void in Pembroke for a great little bar, with good music, service, and food. They must have spent a small fortune to build and furnish this place, but until they improve their staffing and add seating, Kimball's CAV'ern will probably never meet their potential. read more

This place has lots of menu options to choose from and everything is very good. The food does take a little while for some reason (small kitchen?) but it's not usually too long a wait.
