This used to be an incredible store, I was able to furnish our bedrooms with good furniture at an affordable price when my kids were young and we had no money. However the last few years, the store has been appallingly overpriced, even on sale days. And 80% of the merchandise in the store is the color tag that never goes on sale. It used to be the store was using their proceeds for a good cause but also really helping the community by having affordable goods. No longer, they seem to get their prices from the highest online suggestion, not even what it sells for anymore. Their sale prices are what you would pay at Salvation Army on a regular day. Really disappointed that they have lost sight of wanting to not just help mothers and babies but people in the community who are struggling. Also they absolutely ruined items with staples and permanent marker. It's really a shame. read more

Very clean & well organized with pleasant staff BUT,,,,The prices were ridiculously high. I was looking for wall art. One item was marked $169.00!!! It was just leaning against other stuff on the floor. I thrift shop often & this store charges quadruple what I see in other stores. It's nicely displayed and clean but I'll pass. read more

This store in Dunedin the Staff, ALL OF THE STAFF = HORRIBLE ATTITUDES TOWARDS CUSTOMERS and CONFRONTATION FACE-to-Face and behind back, but so can hear! The level of inappropriate is a massive concern, talking badly about customers to the level I have experienced in the last 20 minutes, is Rude, Passive Aggressive and very DISRESPECTFUL.. I was attacked TODAY due to the amount of clothes I have to try on and I suppose the amount of merchandise in my carts? I would think sales would be a plus. Context: I am self employed and today is the only day I have off before Christmas, getting ALL Xmas shopping done today! I am confronted by another Employe/Manager who says very nasty "are you going to buy that, and that? .." while she hovers over and pointing in my shopping cart! Mind you several customers are around this is a busy day in the middle of a Saturday the weekend before Christmas. A unprofessional display is an understatement. I said I will put away Everything... the employees flipped their attitudes and said oh no they have to!? BE WARE!! I CAN NO LONGET RECOMMEND THIS STORE DUE TO STAFF WHOM PRIDE THEMSELVES ON CUSTOMER SHAMING, PASSIVE AGGRESSION and EXTRA DISRESPECT! IN RETAIL INDUSTRIES especially a Non Profit, such a Shame! As I am in the fitting room writing a review as I feel so attacked and deeply, I mean deeply disturbed, I would rather spend my hard earned Money elsewhere at an establishment better equipped with "basic human decency and whom can show a little professional!" I prefer the Shoppe in Clearwater vs Dunedin. The first two items i picked up at the Dunedin location didn't have tags. I hate that :( So i asked for a price. They weren't on sale that particular day. They priced them high. I nicely responded that I'm accustomed to paying $3-$5 for a pillow vs $10 so i nicely passed. I see those pillows at all the shops for much less. If I could afford more perhaps I would have bought them. If they'd been half off, I would've purchased them. No biggie. Their store was clean and organized and manager was nice. The Clearwater store is larger and also clean and organized. The only downfall I saw was that they didn't have a public restroom. read more

Prices were definitely better a couple of years ago, but now it seems they've gone up on everything. It's too bad thrift stores are charging so much now. If prices were better I would have bought more, because there were a few cool items there. read more

I went to donate some items that a neighbor asked me to drop off. I went in and the lady stuck her nose up at donations and said "oh yeah no that's dirty we're good". What does that even mean? This thrift store has changed. I was charged $15 for 2 hardcover books. Hardcover were $1 and softcover .50. I saw a cart for $24.99 that I previously purchased at another non-profit for 9.99. I have been a proud to be customer & sometimes mistaken for an employe at Kimberly Home Thrift Shop in Clearwater, Florida for approximately 8 or maybe even more years (life is long / youth is short...some may disagree) I never thought of doing a review, but it is absolutely well overdue. The staff is IMO 'excellent' (attentive, helpful, caring & they feel like family) We are all entitled to our opinions & America definitely honors our ... Universal Declaration of Human Rights (aka Freedom of Speech) Nevertheless, 'the truth will always prevail & come forth' (sooner or later) This is my 'personal opinion' as a serious Thrifter & Bargain Shopper. NOTE: This location in particular is more 'High End' (nicer merchandize mixed w/ average) vs your AVG Yard, Garage Sale or other location for bargains. Be sure to learn the 1/2 of SALE days for specific items (this applies to all) Kimberly conveniently has the items & days specified on the back of their Business cards. Keep in mind that all & any purchase benefits women & children under Kimberly Thrift Shops wings (this includes Dunedin location) So it's great KARMA! Very expensive - there was a time where you could find some great deals, but not anymore

The counterperson, I believe her name was Hannah was not very pleasant. I purchased quite a few things and my total came to around $80, when I asked why it was so high, I was charged $39.99 for a sewing machine which had a $10 tag on it, in addition to a $39.99 tag. She didn't seem to care when I told her that it had a $10 sticker on it and that was why I bought it. I took it home anyway, and when I thought more about it, the only reason I bought it was because I thought it was $10. I guess the sticker must have been from a previous owner and perhaps a yard sale or something, but since I wasn't a frequent shopper of this store, how was I supposed to know. I called the store and explained what happened and she said to bring ALL of the items back to the store so she could refund me the money for the sewing machine. I told her that I was bringing just the sewing machine back and she could use the receipt to refund my money from the sewing machine and use the numbers from the receipt to re-ring the items... it isn't like they scan they items. I got there and she had the people who were next in line, before I got there, wait so she could process my refund. I thought that was nice of her and the people. But she wasn't very friendly about it, yet she was the one who rang me up the first time. I showed her the yellow tag and explained that is why I wanted it and she said, " That isn't our tag." I told her that she should take the tag off so someone else doesn't make the same mistake. She showed me the green sticker with the $39.99 and said that was their tag. I, again, said that she should take it off so someone else doesn't make the same mistake. I took a picture of the stickers while waiting for her to process the return which consisted of her returning the WHOLE order, about ten or so items AND then having to re-ring it again, minus the sewing machine. While I know that they don't take returns, which I normally wouldn't have cared had there not been a $30 difference in what I THOUGHT it was and what I paid. When I questioned her the first time, when I was there, she just said that the price was $39.99 and there was nothing she could do about it. The sale had been completed and instead of even apologizing for the stickers on it, she wasn't very friendly about it. I've worked in retail for over 10 years and it usually is procedure to acknowledge the customer and say that you are sorry even if there is nothing that you can do about it. That didn't happen. I'm not a huge fan of the customer is always right, but there is no need to be rude when they're trying to explain why they thought it was one price and not another. She didn't even acknowledge it. I had my 13 year old with me and he was shocked at her rudeness. If she is a volunteer, maybe she had a bad day. If she is a paid employee, oh dear! read more

A thrift shop with the prices of a consignment store. It's honestly one of the nicest thrift shops I've ever been to. They even have a massive selection of quality furniture. I'd never buy anything from here though. The prices are outrageous and clearly too focused on making a profit. If you're going to spend this much, you might as well search Facebook marketplace and find exactly what you're looking for instead of going here and hoping to find something. read more

Make sure to get a receipt for EVERYTHING. Bought a $7.99 Health-o-meter weight scale. The product was sold in non-working condition. Changed battery and still inoperative. Called store the next day after purchase and was told I would receive an in-store credit. However I will never be "in-store" again. Maybe that was the wrong answer. Maybe just watch yourself on every single product you buy here. The charity here is for the owners. read more

Hate that they are forced to make customers wear masks, because the 1958 Asian flu and 1968 Hong Kong flu pandemics were each 3 times the magnitude of COVID, even with the cooked books of COVID (as we understand from various whistle blowers including Minnesota Senator Dr. Scott Jensen). Nope! I walked the entire store and could not quit gasping at the outrageously expensive prices. This is a THRIFT store, not the mall. I don't think they have a clue what that means regarding the prices shoppers are looking for. I understand that it's a ministry, but there are plenty other thrift stores that support good causes that understand how to price their items. They do advertise colored tag discounts, but I was in such sticker shock that I couldn't even waste my time trying to figure out what the prices would be. This review is regarding their donation process. We have donated used furniture to this location for several years without an issue. When the donation crew arrived, we were told they wouldn't accept the furniture because the finish was coming off of the table. They insisted it was delaminating, but we explained it is SOLID wood, and it was something that we could have easily sanded prior to their arrival if we had known. They said the 6 chairs were fine, but they wouldn't take the chairs without the table. Needless to say, this was a huge inconvenience and disappointment. We were never told that the furniture we were donating had to be in perfect condition, and we had donated several other pieces in the past that were NOT in perfect condition, without an issue. SO, to save yourself the inconvenience that we went through, I suggest you clarify what they accept- Maybe even send them photos, before setting up a pick up appointment. read more

This is a really fun store to shop at and the money goes towards a great cause as well. Unlike some of the church thrift shops that send their monies overseas. Kimberly home helps our locals during their pregnancies. Hannah that works the register is the sweetest person ever! She is always so helpful and knows most of the customers by name. Prices are high even considering that some clothes are brand new. Nice clean shop. Merchandise well-presented. Greeting cards are only 25 cents. Lots of jewelry. I bought a clear glass vase for $2 and a book for $2. The DVD's are $2 and VHS tapes are 25 cents. If you buy furniture, the store will deliver locally for $30. read more
