Before the appointment, we explained that they have a lot of anxiety about being in the room with someone of a different gender and would feel safer if I could be present in the room as a support person. We were immediately told that this was not allowed due to company policy. I understand that businesses may have policies regarding treatment rooms. My concern is not that the request was denied, but that there appeared to be no discussion of possible accommodations, alternatives, or support for a client experiencing significant anxiety and vulnerability during an intimate service. The result of being dismissed so abruptly was that my partner became so distressed that he left the appointment in tears and no longer feels comfortable returning. What should have been a positive first experience instead became a painful one. We both felt very judged and dismissed. EWC had always been a friendly & accomidating, safe space for me. I thought bringing my partner here would be a safe first experience. Im not sure that I'll be returning to EWC. (Especically not at this location) I hope European Wax Center will review how trauma-informed accommodations and accessibility requests are handled so that future clients do not have a similar experience.

A friendly staff member could have said - "let's get you in another day" However, your staff was much too eager to bring up your 48 HR cancelation policy. (At this stage in a sale , keep in mind customers don't even know you.) It's off putting. She could have listened, then put me on hold (then discussed with you about not charging the customer, and that wife was already a customer )... THEN NOT EVEN BRING IT UP.........THEN STILL CLOSE THE SALE and got 2 more customers This would have saved your review This would have had 2 more local customers It sounds as you've worked very hard to get good reviews. HOWEVER: You could have called me personally when you knew this was an issue- you didn't. You could have emailed my wife and asked for my cell and or email me personally- you didn't. You could have said "excited about you coming in, let's get you that 1st appointment" - you didn't. You could have modified your front desk pitch and been more observant about tone with staff. - you haven't. Finally, if your staff is hypervigilant about the loss of a sale (I think you are stepping over dollars to grab pennies ) however, you could implement a policy to auto text message customers ("notifying customers 48 policy - 1 week in advance) BTW I received zero calls and zero text messages All the above has not been done.
