My husband and I came in from California for the NFL draft weekend and were so excited to stay at the Kimpton! The staff at the Kimpton is amazing, they helped me make this trip super special for my husband and even helped us dry his jacket that got soaked in the rain! I wish I remembers the gal and guy at the front desk and the manager who we're all SO KIND THE ENTIRE TIME. I can't express how great our stay was even with a hectic weekend. The hotel is very well situated and you can walk to many attractions including playhouse square,rock and roll-hall of fame, 4th street Arcade, Progressive stadium. 5th street arcade,etc. The rooms are small and well appointed but I asked to get my bed made and towels changed once in 4 nights at 9:30 am and came back at 5pm and still had not been done.At home, I make my bed every day and looking at an unmade bed is not a good thing for me so I expect a hotel to do that for me and to use the same towel 4 days in a row is disgusting. That negative out of the way,all the people at the front desk were super nice; in the morning, coffee is put out and at 5 wine and beer are available. There are comfy couches and a nice communal table available there. Can't believe how many people came with their dogs and some with 2- not my thing. This hotel was nothing like what is advertised . The shower head was moldy, all the outlets didn't work, the hairdryer was broken, the shower vents were broken and there wasn't even hand soap for us to wash our hands. We asked at 9 am the next morning to switch rooms. They said no Problem come back at 1 pm. We came back at 1 and they said come back at 5 pm or we will call you. No one called so we called again after our dinner at 9:30 pm and they said " sorry we have no open rooms". Just a really gross room and not great experience. read more

Staying here in Cleveland for one night. The rooms are clean, comfortable, updated, and modernized. There is coffee hour in the morning and complimentary wine from 5-6 pm. Valet is $38 per night, which is not far from normal. They also offer complimentary guitar rental. Location seems great with plenty of places and people. Tv and bed are excellent. Snacks and fridge are stocked up in the room, but are overpriced. read more

Location location location is the key attraction of this hotel situated right in the heart of downtown Cleveland. One of the most modern and chic Kimptons I have ever stayed at. I was upgraded to a spacious room that had Jack and Jill entry into the bathroom and open shower. The shower was huge and had unbelievable water pressure that made it very relaxing. I've stayed in a number of IHG hotels however this is one of the best. The front desk staff are friendly and efficient at checking you in or out. Valet is sloooooow to greet guests and with checking your vehicle in and out. House keeping is two thumbs up. The rooms are super clean and have character with hip decor. There is a fitness center and restaurant onsite. I recommend this hotel for a romantic get away or for business travel. read more

For as expensive as this place is, it's awful. Elevator and keycard barely work, door keycard barely works, and rooms were dirty. Bedding and linens were dirty. Not just dirty, but stained and looked like they had not been changed before we got into bed. Fresh stains, blood. Absolutely disgusting. Rooms will only be cleaned and new towels brought up if you call and 'ask'. When spending that much a night you should NOT EVER need to ask for a room cleaning. Restaurant downstairs had horrible service. And when you call the lobby to complain you're not given anything for such a horrible experience. Save your money, stay outside and Uber in if needed or stay at the Westin. The only good thing is location and again, you have more options around here. read more

We travel the country a lot and we're Kimpton people. This place is pricey A LOT for the environment. Possibly the most out of balanced in the chain but we certainly haven't been to them all. First, the restaurant attached (Betts) closed at 10pm on a Friday night. That's ridiculous and since it was raining sideways, we were already delayed five hours and had NO intention of getting in a car to go elsewhere so we were sent off to our room at 10pm on a Friday night. WTF?! There were about a dozen people inside and if that's considered slow, then close the kitchen, keep the bartender and a barback around and get that money. We brought some. Probably not part of their property but they certainly can influence a change there. Our room had a gigantic floor to ceiling curtain in it that when pulled back revealed a wall. There were tiny 2ft windows at chin level that displayed the glorious alley and dumpsters of all the buildings that share it. Super noisy back there all night so this room NEEDS to be a fraction of its price because it's $hit. The staff was nice and efficient. Our neighbors one night were absolutely out of their minds at 2am. One call to the desk produced a security knock in less than 10 minutes which produced total silence from the classless. It's certainly not the only choice so if we'er ever in Cleveland again...... read more

This hotel has great customer service. I stayed here one night after a week long road trip and the front desk staff checked me in quickly and efficiently. After my stay, I received a charge for drinking a water from the snack bar in my room but after a quick phone call they removed the charge with no question (I did not partake in any snack bar goodies). The lobby decor is the living room you wish you had. The beds were comfortable and there were cute touches in the room, such as a light up message board. Sliding doors to the bathroom seem to be the new trend in hotel rooms and it's not my favorite thing, but it made more sense with the set up of the room. read more

This hotel was spectacular! I booked a room because I was attending a Cleveland Indians game. The stadium is only a few blocks down from this hotel. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous and super comfortable- well maintained. The mini bar is awesome and not all that bad price wise. You are not going to get your bill and regret getting a 2am craving for snickers. From the valet to the concierge - every employee was incredibly gracious and helpful. Another important factor - it is super quiet - even though it's so close to bars, restaurants, and stadiums - you can come back to this hotel and actually sleep. I do believe they've ruined me for all other hotels - I can't imagine staying anywhere else. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Schofield. The staff was very friendly and laid back. The room was comfy and spacious with great eclectic decor and a nice big bathroom. The location is really great! Right across from Hienens, close to Playhouse Square, E.4th and the ballpark. The Schofield is also about as dog friendly as you can get. Housekeeping on a 3 night stay in the Van Gogh Suite at $569/night: you have to *ask* for it? Why do I need to ask to have my bed made, my coffee needs refreshed? Elevator is extremely unresponsive to your room key card; another guest and I could not get off the lobby floor. Air conditioning unit in the living room of my suite is not cooling but it tells me it's 65°...if it was 65 in here, I'd need a sweater. Light bulb burned out in bathroom. Dust all over clear-glass lamps in bedroom. The noise outside on Euclid/West 9th at night sounds like the Indy 500 raceway...tricked-out cars and crotch rocket bikes with loud exhaust systems, racing the Public Square from 8-2am. Why are those people allowed to race around and around for hours? Bed is a platform with a mattress. I've slept on way better mattresses. I usually stay at the Ritz-Carlton but I thought I'd save $100 per night. I won't make this mistake again, read more

I'd rate this hotel a 3.5 but that isn't an option, only on the basis of comparing Kimptons to other Kimptons, This building isn't as nice as other Kimptons we've experienced and our first room felt a lot older than our second room, but once we moved to a room with working AC, we enjoyed our experience. Compared to other hotels in general, these beds are so comfortable too. Makayla, who was at the front desk at night (hope I got her name spelled correctly) made our room change really easy which was so helpful. The ladies that helped us check in were awesome, too. Valet was so nice and accommodating. And of course we love that these properties are super pet friendly. There was no extra safety locks on the door- just a small deadbolt. The elevator requires a key card to get to rooms but the stairwell doesn't, so maybe some changes could be made there. read more

There was actually a urine stain on the carpet- like a dog peed on the corner of the bed. How does housekeeping not notice this if/when they vacuum. Also kind of creeped out by the shampoo and body wash bottles that are refillable- how do I know that the person before me didn't unscrew the lid and tamper with them. I am all for being green- but it should be sanitary. Other than those two things it is a decent hotel. Urine and unsanitary shower products are BIG turn offs! read more

We stayed at the Kimpton Schofield in July of 2018. We used the valet service and were able to walk the city without needing a vehicle - the location is very convenient and the room was acceptable. When we picked up our vehicle to head back to Chicago we noticed money, sunglasses, and some candy were missing from the car. After notifying the hotel and going through their time consuming process which included having to fill out a police report with the city of Cleveland's police department, they sent us the following response; Dear Scott, We have carefully examined the circumstances surrounding this loss and have sufficient information at this time to make a proper decision regarding this claim. Please understand that our obligation as an insurer is not to pay all claims but only those claims which are legally owed. After evaluation of the facts, we can only conclude your vehicle was vandalized. This was probably the best hotel experience I've had in any city. Every single person I interacted with was exceptionally hospitable, even though it was the holidays - which (as a former hospitality worker myself) can be one of the toughest times in the industry. The room and bed were both the largest I've had. The lobby had a beautiful inviting fireplace. We had a trivial issue with the room (a bit cold, something with the thermostat), Caroline at the front desk offered to upgrade and move us (which we didn't really need), and hooked us up with a breakfast for the issue. The service at the restaurant (Chris) was exceptional. Everyone else at the front desk (Leana, the guy with the pins on his festive sweater, sorry I didn't get the name, and others) was extremely courteous, and the valet service was generally prompt. Also it's right across the street from the gorgeous Heinen's Downtown. Definitely staying here for all future Cleveland visits. read more

I honestly wish I could give this place a 0/5. Firstly, when we walked in, the front desk said that my parents and I (a minor staying by herself) were going to be 2 floors apart after booking next to each other. Anyone with any regard for safety would understand why that is a bad idea. Then, the new room they put me in that was thankfully on the same floor as my family was already occupied when we walked in. They gave me a third room which was next door to a room that reeked of weed. The hallway as well as my room were contaminated with the smell, and it appeared that the hotel cared very little about remedying the situation. It was then that I also realized. This hotel has NO DEADBOLT. THERE IS NO PRIVACY. ANY PERSON WITH A KEY COPY COULD HAVE ENTERED MY ROOM AT ANY TIME, LEAVING ME COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND FEELING UTTERLY VULNERABLE. Nicely Appointed Hotel in Downtown Cleveland If you are a tourist in Cleveland in February, you are not going to have to worry about overcrowding! When we first arrived at the Schofield Hotel (in the middle of a snowstorm), I wondered if we had made a mistake because downtown in those conditions was pretty desolate. But the staff was very warm and professional and the room was very nice. It turned out there was a quite good restaurant within the hotel (Parker's), another good restaurant across the street (Adega), and Heinen's, a landmark gourmet grocery store in which you can also buy prepared food and either eat on premises or take back to the room. Overall we had a very nice stay -- comfortable room and friendly, helpful staff. I would stay there again. read more

My pup and I stayed at this Kimpton for my friend's wedding. We really started off on the right foot when we arrived at 7 am and were allowed into our room to sleep. My friend and her fiancé stayed in a penthouse, which was gigantic and had awesome views. We got one hour late check out on our last day and then hopped up to the penthouse. We recovered in one of those bedrooms until it was time for our flight! This was my first time in Cleveland, it was winter, and the pandemic was starting. Traveled to Cleveland for Michael Buble concert and stayed at the Kimpton. Great hotel and a 5 minute walk to the Fieldhouse. Our stay was made even more enjoyable by Jana at the front desk. I had some issues trying to check in on line the day before but when I called Jana was so helpful and got me all checked in. When we arrived and talked with her she was so pleasant and suggested several things for us to do before and after the concert. Lovely lady. read more

First of all the staff stole things from our room while visiting with family. Then made the beds and took some dirty towels but didn't replace any of them. They left trash on the floor and went through my bags. I have never had this bad of stay. Management stated they needed to learn what we experienced over 3 times. Every time we come to Cleveland we stay at the Kimpton. The hotel is in walking distance of the Quicken and Progressive stadiums(Cavs and Indians). When checking in Abigail was very helpfully and inviting. The rooms are nice. They are modern styled rooms. The only thing we missed was not having drawers to put our close in. The closet is a nice size for storage. We stayed in the deluxe room with two queen beds. The large size bottles of shampoo conditioner and body wash are awesome. read more

Location wise in a great spot to walk to the main attractions. However, I have stayed at other Kimpton hotels and this one fell way short of the standard I thought it would have. The room is small and needs more security than just a key card. The first room we were given had windows blocked (not that there was a view) so it seemed very claustrophobic. The front desk person tried to make all excuses to NOT change the room....but we knew the facility still had vacancies. Thankfully she relented finally otherwise we would have moved. Dogs are welcome. Beautiful restaurant off the lobby, Parker's. Excellent cuisine and cocktails available. Hotel offers happy hour in their cozy lobby fireplace lounge each evening with wine and munchies. There are cute little nooks next to the fireplace you can snuggle up in. Rooms are spacious, modern, chic and classy. Linens are top end. Citiview rooms show off some of the best C Town has to offer. You can get a guitar from the front desk if you play. We really enjoyed our stay at kimpton Schofield! My fiancé and I were traveling with our dog and after staying at another kimpton location we knew kimpton was pet friendly and specifically sought out this location as a stop on our road trip. The rooms are clean, provided it with updated technology (a sound box in each room-similar to a bose) and in the pet friendly rooms they provide a dog bed and bowls for your pup to be comfy as well. Every night from 5-6 there is a complimentary wine hour in which they serve wine and in the summer Bellinis too! They also had a stuffed mushroom snack! The hotel is located in a great location (at least I thought so- I don't know Cleveland very well) but I was easily able to walk to several bars and restaurants. The two ladies at the front desk were very helpful and suggested a pet friendly restaurant for us to go to which didn't disappoint! The only con to me was price. At $250 a night and a 36 dollar valet fee (we ended up parking in a garage around the corner) it is a tad pricy and didn't quite hold up to the posh/unique/luxury experience we had at the Baltimore Kimpton (Hotel Monaco) where we stayed for $150 a night. read more

I love Kimpton hotels - this one was great, as usual. Unfortunately, we arrived for check-in just as the football game let out. It took us an hour to get through traffic to reach the valet stand, once we located the hotel. Kimpton Schofield is located downtown Cleveland, walking distance from all the action downtown has to offer. The Jack casino, great eateries, bars, the arcade and more. The staff was super friendly upon check in. The desk was busy, but the hostess at wine reception came over to greet us and offer a glass while we waited. Unfortunately, I was really sick and couldn't partake. Begrudgingly I declined but did ask the desk if they had humidifiers in-house, for use. They DID!! I was ready to pay the $60 for a crappy one around the corner at CVS. Being an In-touch rewards member, we received a $10 credit for the mini bar. The room was nice, clean, updated and well appointed. The shower was amazing. Great water pressure and the amenities were wonderful. It's $120 for a set of the Atelier Bloem bath and body set to take home, but also offered in the bathrooms for your use. I love that stuff. I put it on my Christmas list this year. It was hard to choose a place to eat for dinner - because there were so many. The reception area hosts coffee and tea in the mornings. Valet is $20 per day or $33 with in and out privileges. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch, adjoining the hotel lobby, with a full bar. Kimpton Schofield has a lot to offer. We'd surely stay again. read more

When I booked, they upsold me to a $400/night "premier city view" room with king size bed. The hotel is in Cleveland so for that rate I expected a great room with a cool view. Instead, we got a room with no view located right next to the very loud elevator bank. When I asked politely if we were in the right room class, the desk clerk was dismissive and sneered as if I were trying to steal from the hotel. More attitude than New York or Paris. The interior of the room and the gym were fine. The rest, not so much. read more

What a total letdown! In town for 4 nights to enjoy Cleveland. Great view of the back of some old brick buildings with nice noisy HVAC units droning away. No drawers to put clothing in. "We're working on that" said the front desk. Apparently not very hard. They did manage to find another room with drawers in the desk. But geeze. Give me a break. A place to put your clothes during your stay is pretty basic. Even Motel 6 has a dresser in the room. Wish I could give them no stars. I'm admittedly a Kimpton groupie. I've stayed at a handful and just love their attention to detail, amenities and quirk. It's always interesting to see what the "theme" of a Kimpton is going to be. I'm used to my homebase KImpton in Pittsburgh that's pretty funky and loud. This one is more toned down, but still with special touches. I love the herringbone floors with the mix of hardwood and slate gray walls. It's warm and inviting in the lobby, with a large table to work from or cozy seating around a huge fireplace. I also loved looking at the large map of the world with pins marking where people have traveled from. Who'd have thought people came to Cleveland from New Zealand?! The room was spacious and clean. I'm still not a fan of open showers... meaning there's no door and you're pretty much left to splish and splash water all over the floor outside the shower. But the bathroom was spacious and has the complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The bed was comfy but was a little bummed the pillows were tiny and not very comfy. There's a lot of decorative pillows, but when it comes to sleeping, give me a great poofy pillow please. The restaurant attached to the hotel is called Parkers. We had a nightcap there. With the clean and sleek lobby, I expected the restaurant to match, but it kinda bordered on cheesy. They had weird light up statue art with flowing curtains everywhere. I'm not sure what they were going for. My old fashion was okay, and it was obviously convenient to stop in for a drink, but it didn't blow me away by any means. The front desk dude was very friendly, which is always great. Plus, the hotel is centrally located downtown. We were there for an Indian's game and it was a short walk to the stadium. I spent all day at UH hospital, when I arrived I was exhausted! My first interaction was the front desk clerk. Why someone would employ her is beyond me! She was rude and nasty! Gave me a hard time about my check in! That could of been settled much easier if she would of just told me what she needed from me! The floor I stayed on smelled like dog poop! In the shower they provide body wash, shampoo and conditioner, but it is refilled. Not sanitary at all! You don't know if it was cleaned before you got to the room! Or who used it before you or why could of been put in it! (Gross) So plan to bring your own. For the money that you spend on a room here I expected more! I recently stayed at the Kimpton Schofield to have a celebration with my partner. We came in at 3am off of our train from Pittsburgh to find a front desk assistant to let us through the door. We were checked in fairly quickly with no hassle. When we arrived to our room, found they gave us a nice bottle of wine, chocolate and pretzels to help with our celebration! The bed was extremely comfy, and the sheets soft. It made sleeping easy, even with the noise of downtown Cleveland. The bathroom was very roomy, through the open shower became a problem when the pressure kicked in and splashed water on the floor. Nonetheless, the pressure was appreciated. In the morning after my shower, they have complimentary tea and coffee for guests; while my partner slept, I went downstairs to snatch us two cups of tea to our room. It was a good start to the day. We had breakfast at the restaurant inside the hotel and they were very accommodating to vegan diets. Oatmeal, sourdough and potatoes. We were very impressed with what they gave us. Every day we came back to our room, the maid had cleaned it spotless, and did a great job. We were leaving via train at 2am, so we were able to have a late check out at 5PM, to rest and get our belongings together. When we lost our amtrak ticket, they were able to print us a new one and kept our bags while we went to our last dinner in Cleveland.
