Wow! Totally unexpected... out in the burbs! Visiting Albany and found this hidden gem, for any students missing their Korean eats - this is the spot! It's not HMart but they carry enough stock for you to make Jigae, jeon, japchae, and ramen! And many more cooking stuff. They also carry some pre-made banchans! Located at the back fridge. Snacks and drinks, so be sure to stock up. I think they close early tho, so make a grocery run on your weekends. If you have questions just ask the owner and he will show you the variation and which is what.

I've been at this store multiple times. A great source for Asian, and especially Korean foods and brands.

I have visited Farmer's Indian Market twice, and walked out both times without buying anything. I'm…read morean adventurous shopper so this is unusual for me. The prices for produce are high and the organization of the aisles baffles me. This time I had a plan: a short list of specific needs from the Asian Market on Central which I hoped I could find here instead. But daikon was too expensive, a tub of peeled garlic was not in sight and I did not have the patience to search for wheat starch or Pantai brand fish sauce. All that said, it's still a four star experience. First for the experience of seeing many Muslim families shopping together on a Friday, and particularly the happy customers waiting at the busy halal butcher when their orders are delivered. Second for the depth of product which challenges the casual shopper but lets me know this would be a good source for a very specific product, like an obscure fruit or vegetable or one of the dozens of middle eastern flatbreads on offer. The labneh section alone deserves an award for brand diversity. Like it or not, I know I'll be back and am glad we have Farmer's Indian Market in our community.

If your looking for a spice or vegetable etc that you never could find or even never knew about this is the store to go to. What can I say about this place? A LOT. But in the interest of not completely filling up Yelp's…read moredatabase, I'll keep it brief. The first thing that you notice when you walk into Garofalo's is how great it smells: it's like getting hit in the face with a cinder block of glorious fucking awesomeness. It smells THAT good. I love it. I really don't think there's a single thing here that isn't fantastic. I'm especially in love with their smoked ribs. The stuffed pork chops are awesome. They make all sorts of phenomenal sausages. They also sell a variety of other things: various cheeses, meats, spices, canned tomatoes, olive oil and more. The staff at Garofalo's are great as well. They're very friendly. This place is obviously in the best hands. If you're not familiar with the area, it might be a little tricky to find because it's on a weird little road. There really isn't any parking (I normally walk here from my Schenectady office anyway), so the best place is to just park in the lot around the bend behind Perreca's and Cornell's. Garofalo's is well within walking distance from there. Garofalo's accepts credit cards, but there's a minimum amount (which is $15 if I recall correctly). Be warned: If you're going there today for the smoked ribs, you're SOL. I'm pretty sure I bought them out for the day. That's how I roll.

There's a small section right up front of seasonal fruit/vegetables & some items on sale. This Korean grocery store is on a busy strip of Rt. 9, not too far from Latham Traffic Circle, across from a car dealership, and shares a small lot with Tamarind Thai, a Chinese Take-out Restaurant, and a vape store. There's more parking in the back. It's a lot larger and homier than it looks on the outside. The Spring & Summer months are especially nice, they have little seedlings of starter plants on the pavement out front & a community cork board up front. There's a lot of selection of frozen mandoo (dumplings), Melona ice cream bars, fresh Kimchee, soft tofu, a small but fresh section of vegetables (chives, oyster mushrooms, napa cabbage, burdock root), LOTS of family packs of Instant Korean Ramen (Ramyun), a Back room of Korean Home Goods (decent prices, nice glass tupperware, the have THE green "Italian bath towel" scrubby mitts for $2.99! THE best exfoliation that Instagram tries to sell similar mitts for *much* more). There's aisles of snacks & candy, cooking sauces, flour & yam noodles, Korean gim/seaweed, Chili powder, Frozen seafood & rice cakes, bags of rice, dried kelp & anchovies for stock, barley & Cintron tea, banana yogurt drinks. There's other Asian products too (Thai curry paste, some Chinese & Filipino sauces). The prices are a little higher than other Asian Markets in the Capital Region, so I usually just go for specific items: Yam Noodles for a Japchae recipe, Chapaghetti black bean Instant Ramen, a seasoned Seaweed crumble topping for rice, A small pack of Chinese-Korean black bean sauce for JaJang noodles (perfect size for a solo chef, haven't seen this size portion anywhere else). Oh and Yes! You can buy a Neoguri Ramen & Chapaghetti Ramen and make some noodles like the film Parasite. ...didn't see if they had frozen beef. Not sure if it's due to the pandemic, but sometimes they're out of stock on things, so it's better to call ahead. I realized that Wal-M--t carries Shin Black Ramen now because they were always out. Overall, a really nice find and I love wandering around & looking at all the products. The staff is so kind, their friends seem to stop by often & chat in the back kitchen/fridge area. Check them out!

It is in a former ice cream store, and the old sign is still up for the former tenant. In fact, I was confused when I saw lots of people going in and out but none seemed to be eating ice cream. Curiosity got the best of me and I went exploring. They have their own small yellow sign hanging outside their door but the website listed doesn't seem to work. Per talks with the employees, they have been open 4-5 months. Walking around felt like going through most ethnic stores. This place was small and I gravitated towards the snack food (crackers, chips) and desserts (candy, treats) sections. It is all in Spanish but there are some helpful signs. Prices are marked but not consistently. If you are familiar with the Spanish language or Brazilian foods you should be fine. They also had staples like rice and beans, and some cooking appliances too. I saw beer coolers but never looked inside because it was pretty busy with about 10 people in a small store. They don't take credit cards and don't make that fact obvious on the door. In fact, they have a card reader but it wasn't on. They do take cash or Vimeo (I think that is what he called it). I can honestly say this is the best (and only) Brazilian supermarket I have ever been to!
