BBQ slab Sauce on the side for me

I have been coming here for over 20 years it's family own business. Very affordable Cash only no cards and no they don't have a atm Zelle , venmo or Apple Pay I just want everyone to make sure they know Bring CASH ONLY. This location is very small tight parking . I like to come when the ribs are fresh out the BBQ usually around 1-3pm but call if those are your expectations . Pro tip call first to make sure they are open also that they have the BEEF RIBS since beef sells out quick . Kim's BBQ (619)527-0880 Closed Monday Tuesday They sell pork ribs , rib tips , brisket , beef ribs Ambiance is not good it's a grab and go type of place it's in an older building with small parking lot . They also they also cater I would highly recommend to call first to make sure they can handle order that way you could give them appropriate time to be able to make your order and quote you price . Catering is also very reasonably priced.

Kim's is a block away from Bowlegged BBQ so this area has a nice variety of bbq options.  Meats are smoked with mesquite wood.  I ordered a rack of beef ribs and I loved the smoky aroma and flavor.  I chose the mild sauce which was mostly sweet with a little spice.  Next time I think I'll go with no sauce as I generally prefer just dry rub.  The owner got my order out quick and it was only $15 with tax for a full rack of ribs.  I had enough food for lunch and dinner.  :-) 2nd visit I tried a rack of pork ribs with no sauce.  A full rack of ribs here is a huge amount of food and should last me at least 3 meals.  Great deal for $20 including tax.  Ribs were tender and juicy except for the end piece.  I loved the light smoke flavor and the mild savory flavor of the dry rub.   Kim's Bar-B-Que is a small spot but you get lots of food for your money and the owner is nice.

Rack of Beef Ribs. This meat falls of the bones.

Kim's Bar-B-Que is a great & reasonably-priced super divey hole-in-the-wall for ribs. It's located (too close for my diet!) on Market, just a block or so west of 805. They're casual about their hours so it's a good idea to call ahead to ensure they're open & have what you want. Wilbert (married to Kim) is the guy at the counter. CJ is the huge bear of a guy who throws everything on the smoker slightly after the crack of dawn. CASH & Takeout ONLY. A full rack of excellent beef or spare ribs is $25 out the door. Here are some saliva inducing pics.

Ok sooooo... I went to check this place out on a Sunday afternoon. There was only one church lady in front of me leaving with 3 stuffed bags . Now ..... that tells me I'm at the right spot. This little boutique bbq spot has been in its location for 20yrs. And you wanna know why ????? Hmmmmmm ???? Because it's DELICIOUS!!! Can't beat a hot link sandwich on some white bread ( or bun... whatevs ) The pricing is $10.00 to $15.00 LESS than neighboring bbq places. Now let me be clear .... This is a " no frills" establishment. But that's fine with me. I can't eat a "frill" anyway . They actually have sides !! The seasoned gentleman working the restaurant was straight to the point ( no glitter and rainbows). You need to know what cha want when you get to the counter. The prices are so reasonable I don't even care you can't eat inside. If you want some backyard at your grandparents house , family cook out with the reel to reels playing in the background at the park on a summer day right before school starts back bbq..... Welp this is your spot! Your tastebuds will thank you for it.

    Rib tips

Good unexpensive food. Recommend all meats without souce. The candied yams are the best.

No meat just bones and fat

Worst place ever never buying anything from here ,first and last time. I asked for a beef sandwich and I came home with ribs with no meat just bones with bbq sauce slathered in it and fat it almost looked like someone's left overs I'm am so angry that I was ripped off by this I gave my dog the bones. It was burnt and reheated in the microwave and some items he did not have and he seemed rude when I asked if he took debit he said no so I came back with cash there should be a sign saying CASH only I should've just went to the other bbq place Bowlegged it might of been better instead of a doggy bag that I received STAY AWAY from this shit place. Fuck this place

Yummy Beef Ribs. Only $9 for all that & 2sides & cornbread

The other day, I got the tri tip sandwich with chimichurri. The order came up quickly. I live a couple of blocks away. By the time I was home, the sandwich was cold. Not lukewarm, not tepid, but cold. But the REALLY disturbing thing was the bun/bread. It fell apart, into large chunks, the minute I opened the paper wrap up. A sandwich has two major components, BREAD and the filler. Can't you have decent fresh bread? This seems to be a challenge lately for the Grand Ole BBQ. A couple of months ago, I got the hot links, and they were served on the most run of the mill, grocery store quality, HAMBURGER bun. LINKS, folks, should be on a hot dog shaped bun, not cut up into small pieces and placed on a cheap, round, bun. I can't decide if this is hipsters, serving food and doing it their way, with whatever happens to be available at the moment, or if this is management saying "we don't care about your expectations." It isn't novel, to put links on a hamburger bun, it doesn't make it artsy, or unique, it makes it look like an afterthought. So does try-tip on a bun that wasn't. And the chimichurri- driest, almost oil-free chimichurri I've ever had, I had to add oil, at home, to be able to spread it. Good chimichurri isn't difficult, I make it all of the time. Make an effort people. Restaurant are closing. Disregarding your customer is one quicker way to meet that end.

They also have live music on certain evenings which is really nice. There is often a wait for a table. Service varies a lot! Sometimes it is awesome and other times really lacking. The food also varies. My husband loves the tri-tip sandwich, but they often run out of tri-tip, and it can be delicious or dry and tough. I gave up on tri-tip because of the lack of consistency. I really like the brisket burrito. It's even better than the meat plates. And the brisket in general is really good. The sides are pretty good but none of us are crazy about the fries. They also have a kids menu which is nice. And if you save room for dessert, as simple as it is, the hot fudge sundae is a favorite. Over all I would recommend this place.
