They were packaged in a variety of sizes, from snack to sharing. In addition to all sorts of edible goodies for people, they had a selection of dog treats as well. They also had an area devoted to Missouri made products, many of them made right there in Washington. Being addicted to jalapeños, I could not resist purchasing a couple jars of jelly. In addition to the nuts, they specialize in gift baskets. The ones on display were very impressive. In addition to the food items, they have cute gifts items, like coasters, napkins and witty signs to complete the gift. I found myself in need of roughly 10 gift baskets for some clients, and the owner Barb was more than accomodating. I asked if I could include wine and cheese with the baskets (which they didn't sell) and not only was it not a problem, but she picked the items up for me and let me pay her for them when I picked up the baskets! Now that's good customer service. =) This would be a great place to wrap up your holiday gift-giving needs when you get to the people that are impossible to buy for, or to supply a party you're having with some "grab a handful" type food.

The pineapple slaw was a no go for me. I didn't see a single pineapple in the slaw and it lacked the flavor of so. I did enjoy their BBQ sauces. They had multiple options: Original, Smokey and Tennessee Red (which was my favorite)! I'm giving Blue Hog 4 stars because I'm reviewing the sauce and the sauce was the saving grace. As we shopped a couple of the local gift shops in town, we kept seeing their label on products. We thought, why not go directly to the source and were glad we did. Pappy's makes some of the most amazing and delicious jellies and relishes. I love jalapeño jelly and they had several kinds. They also bottle and make Tony's Bloody Mary Mix which is a product out of Fenton, MO. What was so impressive here, was the customer service. The gentleman/owner who was working truly showed his passion for their product. It was just as if we were in a Traders Joe. He had no problem opening product for us to try. Of course, it worked. Everything we tried we bought. The Zucchini Relish was a winner for all of us. I bought the "Hot", but it does come in a regular temp as well. The shop hours are limited. They are only open Monday - Thursday 10 AM - 5 PM. However, according to their website, if you need anything outside these hours, just let them know and they would be happy to accommodate you.
