Ben helped me pick out a new upright piano for my home. I went with a Kawai. He was kind enough to let me play various models for almost an hour before I made my final decision. Checked out Hanmi Piano and had a bad time. Decided to walk across the street and was blown away by how great my experience was. Kim's Piano is not a showroom. It is a factory wholesaler with a plethora of pianos that you can play firsthand. Like what your playing? Each keyboard can be delivered same day to your door. I was shown around by Steve Kim - one of their experts. WOW. He is truly an expert when it comes to pianos. I had a wonderful time learning about the different models and how YAHAMA and KAWAI differ in terms of sound and structure and he was glad to answer any questions I had. We recently bought a new Kauai piano from Benjamin at Kim's Piano. All I can say was their service and help with the purchase was exceptional. We had shopped around several stores for the right piano for my son. We were in the area and called Kim's to see if they were still open. Benjamin answered the phone, and he told us that they normally close at 6:00pm, but he would wait around for us until we arrived, which was like 6:20pm. Benjamin showed us a selection of pianos, and without any pressure, advised us on different options. We decided to go away and think about it, since this was a multi-thousand dollar purchase. I am obsessed with my piano! So in love with it. A piano tuner recommended that I purchase a piano from Kim's and I'm super happy with it. I accidentally went to the other piano store across the street first, fortunately when I left there I saw Kim's & figured out that I went to the wrong place & this was where I was supposed to go. They are a really nice family owned business. I was looking for a used grand piano and ended up with a wonderful Yamaha. They have lots of pianos and I spent a long time deciding. I began my search for a new piano at several popular piano stores in Orange County. After narrowing my search down to a couple of brands, I decided to go have a look at the Kawai line of grand piano's and I found Kim's Piano on their website as a authorized dealer. I called late evening on a Wednesday and talked to Mr. Kim's relative. I explained that I was piano shopping and would like to make an appointment to come in and take a look at the showroom. He promised to have Mr. Kim call me back right away. Five minutes later, Mr. Kim called me directly. I explained to him what I had been up to and asked if I could meet with him the following day. On Thursday morning I drove up to the Stanton showroom and met with Mr. Kim. He was very friendly and took the time to understand what I was looking for, what I had looked at so far and what price range I was shopping. He then took me on a tour of his showroom and showed me at least 8 different piano manufacturers including Kawai, Estonia, Mason & Hamlin, Steinway, Baldwin and Petrof. After we were done with the tour and demonstration, he asked me what I thought and which piano I thought sounded the best to me. I immediately said that I thoroughly enjoyed how the Mason & Hamlin AA grand sounded but already knew (or thought I did) that it was well out of my price range. He smiled at me and said something like, "Well, what if I told you that we could probably work something out so that it was in my price range" and I told him that I didn't believe him, knowing what the MSRP price was on a new M&H Model AA. After some further discussion with Mr. Kim, I realized that he was seriously going to sell me a brand new, Mason & Hamlin Model AA piano with a PianoDisc Prodigy player and deliver it for FAR less than I could have ever imagined. I literally thought he was kidding me. We sat down and did all the paperwork and shook hands. I am anticipating the delivery of my new piano next week and cannot believe that I was able to get a brand new M&H piano at such a good price from Mr. Kim. I can tell you that Kim's Piano is the "real deal" and you would be foolish to buy a new or used piano anywhere else without first meeting with Mr. Kim. Thank you. read more

If I could add more stars, I would. Let me start by saying that 1) I'm not an expert in Pianos and 2) I'm very picky and particular about what I buy and do. I have a very high standard in service and product, so I'm not an easy customer to deal with. My wife and I went to Kim's twice. Once to ask questionsand then a few other stores mixed in and then once more to finalize with Kim's. In particular, I worked with Benjamin. I was blown away by the level of his service and attention to detail. He gave us an extremely thorough description of every single piano we touched including the manufacturer's background, the specific model's background, where the piano was made, where the parts are from, comparison of technologies involved, pros and cons. At the end, I'm very appreciative of Benjamin and his team. He made me feel comfortable while dealing me, my wife and my 4 year running around. This is a very friendly and courtesy place. We went there after placing a few offers to other places which never called us back. Benjamin was very nice, helpful and accommodating. Our daughter's teacher recommended a Kawai and so we bought a K3; it was delivered a few days later. Their tuner expert, Mr. Steve Kim came and gave us the first free tuning one week after delivery. I had the chance to work with Benjamin Kim while looking for a Shigeru Kawai piano in Dec 2019. It was a joy shopping at Kim's Piano. The showrooms were beautiful with so many pianos to choose from. The employees were extremely helpful in both locations that I visited. And there was never any pressure at all; I could gets answers whenever I wanted, or simply play any of the pianos as much as I needed to figure out exactly the piano I'd want to purchase. This made the whole process enjoyable and stress free. After several hours and traveling between two showrooms in Tustin and Stanton, I decided on the Shigeru Kawai SK-2. Benjamin even matched a price I had seen earlier in the year for the same model piano which was located in Portland, OR, where there's no sales tax! I purchased an amazing sounding Shigeru Kawai piano and got a great deal as well! But where Kim's Piano would really shine was in their customer service a few months later. After receiving the piano in January, a couple months went by and I noticed that one note on the keyboard wasn't sounding quite right, even after having it tuned by Benjamin's Uncle Steve, who did amazing, meticulous work on the piano. So, it was decided to try replacing the strings to that key. Even after that replacement, which did make the note sound much better, it was agreed that the note wasn't perfect, and since there was a full satisfaction warranty by Kawai, we would ask for a replacement. Throughout the whole process, Benjamin always answered and returned my phone calls, and stood by the Shigeru Kawai product and warranty to ensure my complete customer satisfaction! This kind of customer service going above and beyond is why I wholeheartedly recommend shopping for a piano at Kim's Piano. I now have a brand new SK-2 that sounds absolutely perfect. read more

I bought a an upright piano from Kim's last spring and the initial service was good. I had mentioned that the piano I was purchasing was a little out of tune on the bass side. I showed the salesman he agreed and told me he would send someone to tune once it was delivered. I never received a follow-up. Kim's Piano has a tremendous selection of beautiful pianos and are an authorized dealer for Kawai and other brands. I happened to be in the market for a new digital piano and after researching a few brands decided to stop into see what they had. Although most of their stock is acoustic pianos I was delighted to see they had the Kawai digital model I was considering on the show room floor. I tried it out and was quoted a very competitive price by Steve Kim. I told him I'd think it over, went home, did some more research on other brands/models, and came back the next day and closed the deal with Benjamin Kim. What I enjoyed about the experience was the total lack of any pressure and the respect they had in letting me wander the shop without being lurked over the entire time. They asked if I had questions, made sure I understood the features of the piano I was looking at, but otherwise left me alone unless I wanted help. Much more my style of shopping than in the store across the street where the saleswoman lurked behind me as I looked at every piano and I didn't feel as if I'd be comfortable playing any model for any length of time. At this time we decided to rent a piano for my daughter's private lessons during Covid. My daughter practices on the weekends, before and after school, every time she walks by the piano. I don't enjoy high pressure or balogna slinging sleazy salespeople in any industry, and Mr. Kim was perfect. After an intensive research including reading both available piano buying books and visited 5 piano dealers, I ended up buying a new Kawai K5 from Kim's Piano. My son's piano teacher also recommended this store for it being not pushy sale and great price. In addition to no-push and great price, Kim's Piano have their piano's on the floor well tuned. Since I was new to piano, it was better to evaluate a tuned piano than an out-of-tune one. I wouldn't know if something didn't sound right was related to being out-of-tune (which will go away) or a major structural issue (costly repair.) It also eliminates the chance of getting a piano that have tuning stability issue. read more

They simply told us to only play the ones owned by the store and not ones owned by customers looking to sell though the store and to ask if we had any questions. We have been searching out that perfect piano for about 6 months and I think we listened to and played every piano for sale in central Texas. Branching out to Dallas, Chicago and New York we discovered some fabulous pianos and sampled a nationwide cross section of stores and sales people. All of the rebuilt pianos came with at least 7 excuses. The holy grail S-brand pianos were just so-so and came with pretentious sales and high prices. The sound of the Fazioli 228 is incredible as is the price. The smartest thing we did was visit Kims piano in Stanton and listen to a Shigeru SK7. Steve Rivera was incredible in helping us select the very best piano for us. We walked out with a new piano and knew we made the right choice and for the right price. There was a slight problem with our delivery on the Texas side. The delivery person did not have the right equipment or attitude. I called Steve after hours for help. He was actually in NY working on a recording but made some late night calls and set up our delivery for the next morning with another company. The delivery (probably one of the most difficult around) went flawlessly. If you live in the USA and want a piano, make your way to Kims and ask for Steve Rivera. If you are looking for crystal clear highs, powerful resonant bass and incredible dynamic range with unbelievable touch the Shigeru Kawai is the one. read more

I had been saving for three years to purchase my life's dream and had been to Kim's Piano several times in the past. I had spoken with Benjamin (the General Manager) at Kim's and each time he was very informative. Two weeks ago I had the money to purchase and went back to purchase. I had visited other Piano stores and had been underwhelmed with their lack of product knowledge and interest in me. I am a top performing salesperson myself and have been for the last 15 years, so I can spot lackluster performance right away. Benjamin and Kim's piano was unique. They /he was not pushy and treated me with respect and courtesy not knowing my profession (it never came up as a topic). After set up I had an issue with the piano (not Benjamin or the store's fault) and he had a rep. come and fix it right away and offered to come to my house personally!!! Benjamin exceeded my expectations. Just a note: He is the only salesperson there that I would recommend, the others did not seem to have as much product knowledge, perhaps because there was a bit of a language barrier.
