Hands down one of the beat Indian in Omaha or near by for that matter. Initially I was not so sure about the place however after my first visit this is a very good restaurant. I tried their thali which is a platter that comes with various typical Indian dishes - more like a samplers size. It was very good and will go back for sure !! read more

Kinaara just recently moved to the Regency location. It's beautiful, and I have no doubt the food is as good as it was in the prior location. Unfortunately, I'm sitting here waiting for a pick up order that should have been ready half an hour ago. The person next to me just got his order that should have been ready an hour ago. A couple who came in at the same time as me with a reservation just got seated. I understand that delays happen and that transitions can create problems of this nature. That doesn't make it a good practice, though. Either the restaurant is taking too many orders/reservations or it is being horribly inefficient (my guess is the former--the staff are working hard and are doing a good job). I'm quite hopeful that these issues get resolved soon. If they don't, I may have to find another Indian restaurant. I will update this review the next time I come--hopefully to the five stars that the food and staff deserve. read more

The food was great! However, the billing stinks and is questionable as follows: - A waitress brings a credit card scanner to the table where you can opt to enter a percentage and/or dollar amount for a tip. I paid by credit card also entering a tip amount for 20%. I asked for a copy of the receipt and I am glad I did. (Date of service 07-14-23) - The waitress (Delena B.) returns with the receipt and said "I am sorry I charged you for 2 rice pudding deserts" of which we never ordered, nor received. She said she would credit us the $10.00 plus tax to our card providing another receipt. - I later checked with my credit card company periodically through 07-26-23 with no change of billing/credit for the overcharge. - I checked my receipts later as I was traveling learning that the waitress overcharged for a tip of 28.35% versus the authorized 20% which is an overage of $8.28. She also done this on the alleged credited receipt. - The sales tax rate was also overcharged or so it appears from 7% legal Omaha, NE to 9.53% an overage of $2.85 or 2.53%. - I have submitted a complaint to my credit card company for the entire tip taken not only for the overcharge being $23.28. - I have also requested a credit to my card for the overcharged sales tax of $2.85 through my card company. - I am also seeking a credit for the rice pudding desert of $10.00 plus sales tax which we didn't order and didn't receive. Sad commentary of a great food quality restaurant being either misrepresented by a possible greedy waitress, poor electronic billing as tax amount is either accidentally or deliberately overtaxing by what appears to be 2.53% what state and local tax rate is (9.53% versus legal amount of 7%). Total overcharges was $21.13 Seeking $36.13 which includes the entire tip, overtaxation , and food not ordered. Check your receipts as you may have similar problems. read more

Today I took my son out for a little mother son lunch date. We arrived after the lunch rush and right before happy hour was to begin, so I was informed the kitchen was switching things around and certain things may not be available from off the menu. I respect being informed that, as we were seeking specific items off of the menu. Recently my family and I switched over to eating a plant-based diet, and it can be challenging to find vegan friendly restaurants that offer anything other than a bland garden salad as a meal. Thankfully, after our server checked with the kitchen staff, all the items we were intending to try were available so we were promptly seated. We ordered potato samosas as our appetizer, which arrived with a green and a red sauce. The samosas were fried golden brown. The green sauce had a lightly sour but tangy taste and the red was spicy and a little sweet, both were delicious. We had ginger beers to drink. Our entrees were gobi aloo which is a potato and cauliflower type of curry and my son got the tofu tikka marsala and we also ordered some unleavened wheat bread. I just have to say, wow! Everything tasted spectacular. My 11 year old even stated that THIS was his new favorite place to eat and that the tofu tikka marsala was his new favorite food. I gotta say I completely agree with him. The food was amazing, our server was wonderful. I cannot wait to come back here again. read more

We have FINALLY had a chance to try Kinaara for takeout. We've tried twice before but the wait (nearly two hours for pickup) was way too long for our hungry bellies. This time we planned ahead - we logged onto their website at 4 (the only way to place an order btw - no phone orders) and scheduled our pickup for the earliest time (6:15p). Food was ready when we arrived and it smelled so good. I ordered the tofu tikka masala (hot) and spice level did not disappoint. The masala sauce was creamy and delicious. Tofu was not deep fried and had a good texture. Others in my party both ordered the chana masala and both agreed it was also very good. We also tried the veggie samosa. You get 2 in the order and they are pretty big. I wouldn't want to share (and it would be a mess to anyway). Anyway, food was good. I'd get it again. But, given the exorbitant wait time for food that is likely not made to order, we'll be shopping around for something that is a bit quicker (we don't always know hours in advance what we're going to eat). read more

Ordered delivery with doordash. Thoroughly impressed with all the menu items labeled Vegan. My husband loves Indian food and I haven't ever been excited about the restaurant style Indian Food- I prefer to make my own versions. We ordered Aloo Gobi and the Vegetable Biyriani and Naan with Raitha. Everything was so good that there was nothing left. We had the spinach Pakora as an appetizer and then it disappeared. Millard has always had its fair share of Indian restaurants, and this is one of the new kids on the block. We ordered take out for dinner. Turn around time was reasonable, though our order was fairly standard, including Chicken 65, tandoori chicken, and veg samosa. I personally love Chicken 65 and will try it at almost every Indian restaurant I go to, if they serve it. While the flavors were good, their version was not battered, which I prefer. The tandoori was on the mild side in terms of flavor, but it was cooked well, not dry. My wife and I loved the samosa's strongly spiced filling and would definitely order that again. This is a great option for Millard-ites who are craving a nicely prepared Indian take-out meal. read more

I stopped and picked up Tikka masala and chicken biryani today. I have to say the staff was very accommodating with great customer service skills. I asked for medium spice and it was perfect for me. The biryani was very good as was the Tikka masala. They only reason for the four stars is the Tikka masala only had 4 pieces of chicken. For $16 I kind of expected more. The first two times we went here were amazing which is why I have it two stars instead of one. I took my parents here for the first time this week. We got there right when it opened and we were the second order. They brought out the naan but over an hour later we got our food because the ticket didn't print. When my mild food finally came out it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. We were told it wasn't their fault they didn't print our ticket on time and that maybe I just can't handle spice (I regularly eat Indian and other spicy foods). They did offer us free dessert which we declined since when all was said and done we were there over an hour and a half. read more

Dropped in during happy hour. It wasn't busy so I sat at the bar. Almost put my arm in a smear of mango lasse on the counter, so I moved to a different chair. I did ask them to clean it off. They got most of it. It took 15 minutes to have the bartender wait on me (there were 4 other people at a bar that seats 12). Took 15 more minutes to get the beer and never got the bowl of mulligatawny soup that I also ordered. After wasting 45 minutes there, happy hour was over and I have no idea how good their food is. My wife and I had dinner at Kinaara on Friday and were thoroughly delighted with the service and quality of food. We enjoyed the Chili Chicken (medium spice) and Masala Fries (mild) for appetizers. Generous portions and very tasty with depths of spice/flavor that we both enjoyed. For entrees we ordered shrimp mobile (mild) and the chef's special; pork fry. Absolutely the best Indian cuisine we'd encountered in Omaha. BTY; we had plenty of leftovers for a full dinner the next night and the flavors were even more complex.
