Seeing my child grow academically and spiritually for the last four years has been very rewarding, to say the least. As a Teacher myself, I can confidently leave my child with a peace of mind. Knowing my child is taken care of and is receiving the personalized education needed to be successful is very valuable to us. Another reason why I recommend this place is because of the student to teacher ratio. This is part of the reason why our children are successful. Lastly, I want to commend the teachers and specially the Principal/Teacher here at Grace. She goes above and beyond for our students and the ministry alone at Grace Christian School; her mission and vision are truly admirable. And her leadership is remarkable. She takes her service to this community to another level. A great example of what a great servant of God looks like, trying to make a difference in this world. She is adamant to offer the best education possible to our children and leads her teachers to high standards. If you are looking for a passionate leader, that strives her best to take care of your children with love, respect, fairness and compassion, in a safe environment, this is the right place.

We are truly blessed to have found such a safe, loving environment for our children. The campus is beautiful and the equipment is new. Kids can really be just kids. They run around and play. We love watching our kids actually moving their bodies and working out. They plead to go to afterschool camp every day. The class sizes are amazing. There are assistant teachers in each classroom. If a student needs more assistance they can easily get it, instead of struggling alone. Dr. Chun is an amazing Principal and runs the school like a well oiled machine. The character values they instill Caring Attitude Respect Gratitude Perseverance Self Control are amazing. I wish they had a high school too.

This school does not focus on academic rigor. There is no homework or grades until 4th grade. The amount of regression in education we witnessed was sad, anger inducing, and extremely upsetting. We wasted a year of tuition and our child's time and would NEVER recommend this school for children who are not special needs or have other socialization issues.

Based on the quality of the instruction, my son excelled academically and is tri-literate in Chinese, Spanish, and English. My son speaks Mandarin at home with his mom and attained the global seal of literacy for Spanish. The only reason my son no longer attends Renascence is that he wanted to experience a school with a larger class size and more students. (He now goes to a school with over 100 classmates just in his grade.) Based on the instruction my son received at Renascence International, my son was one of 25 out of 500 students out of district that tested and were accepted at Oxford Academy in the 7th grade. The quality of the teachers and curriculum are excellent and without this instruction, my son would never have made it into a public school that is rated #1 in California and #19 in the United States. Currently, he is taking advanced math and is the only non-hispanic child taking advanced Spanish in his grade. Thank you Renascence International for giving my son the tools and instruction to succeed.

She began attending kindergarten in 2012 and graduated from high school in 2025, and we could not have chosen a better school. From the administration to every teacher, the team at RSI is outstanding -- supportive, caring, and completely dedicated to each student's success. Academically, the school is exceptional. Students consistently learn up to two grade levels ahead, and through RSI's dual-enrollment program with a local community college, our daughter earned two associate degrees, along with her IGETC certification, which fulfills general education requirements for both the UC and CSU university systems -- all at the same time she graduated from high school. RSI's language program is equally impressive. Our daughter earned perfect scores (5s) on both her AP Spanish and AP Chinese exams and received the Global Seal of Biliteracy at the Working Fluency level in both languages -- a highly prestigious distinction that reflects advanced proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Only a small percentage of bilingual students nationwide reach this level, making it a truly exceptional achievement. Because of the strong foundation RSI provided, our daughter received multiple university acceptances with generous academic scholarships. We love this school so much that even after she graduated, our family continues to volunteer and support RSI because it truly feels like family. Renascence School International has been one of the best decisions we have ever made -- a school that challenges, inspires, and prepares students for success in a global world.

This is a typical private run high school, uniforms, smaller classes, college prep curriculum. I sent my kids here because I felt they take student safety as well as opportunity for learning, seriously. The tuition was always high, and every year it would increase 4-5%, typical of private schools. 2 years ago it was sold by the owning family to a conglomerate (named ISP or "International Schools Partnership"). Since then, many of the great teachers or people around the school, have begun leaving. The emphasis is now on creating a "glossy image" for the school to appeal to high income international students and their families. The have focused heavily on making everything look orderly, and making the student population look diverse (it is not). There is less emphasis on the actual curriculum (resulting in cutting down on classes offered) and less encouragement of school clubs. Due to this combination of unfortunate factors, teachers are leaving left and right. I cannot blame them. The school has increased tuition for this coming year by 11%, citing "maintenance needed for air conditioning, and more, etc." to the campus. While they have increased tuition by 11% for every student, they are cutting teacher salaries. If they increased tuition, to keep the teachers, it is something parents would understand and have to accept. To be told tuition is going up at this rate, and to know that teachers are all being told to take a pay cut - raises the question - where is all this money going? It is not benefitting the teachers, and not benefitting the students. I can only imagine it lining the coffers of I.S.P. and the management salaries of those who work there. I feel we are now stuck - I don't want to move my kids and upend their school life. I used to be able to "recommend" this school to parents who wanted an option for a private school. I do not recommend this school anymore, because the current owning company is only interested in increasing their profit, and promoting all their portfolio of international private schools, rather than actually caring for each campus, the happiness and motivation of the teachers, and the offerings and education for each student. I will be very fair. If you a family from outside United States and would like to send your child to an expensive international private school through a student visa, I believe you are the target market. They can place your child with a host family or house them in a dorm, and bus them to school, etc. This will cost you yearly about the same as a US Private College tuition, but if money is not an object, this will not matter. You are the most important target market for I.S.P., and your child will attend Fairmont Preparatory with many other children just like them. This is not derogatory- my children have many international student friends, precisely due to this marketing strategy which heavily influences the student population. If I had known another entity would purchase the school, raise tuition, and order pay cuts for teachers (again, where is all the money going then?) which then causes an exodus of great teachers, then I would have looked for another private school for my children's high school education.

This is our first year with the school after coming from a different Montessori program (which we LOVED), and overall, we have had a positive experience at Minaret with recognition of some room for improvement. This will be a long review, but please do read through it if you are considering this program. Please remember transitioning to a new school is always difficult and takes at least a few months for children to fully settle in. The challenges they will face here are not unique to Minaret and will likely be faced anywhere (potential behavioral concerns, finding new friends, learning to find their voice in a classroom setting, etc). The beauty of Minaret's Montessori is that the current director is incredibly knowledgeable about child development and is always ready to work with parents regarding any of their concerns. Anyways, I'll break it down by pros/room for improvement as I've experienced them. I am happy to chat with anyone who may be considering this school and is looking for more information! Pros: The new director Ms. Mai is incredible and is clearly working so hard to improve this program. She is attentive to parents/students, sharp, kind, well spoken, and dedicated to the Montessori method. What I appreciate is she is always open to hearing our concerns. While she encourages parents to make their own observations of the program/teachers she is also candid about each classroom environment (example: different personality types, teaching method of the teacher, etc). We did face some growing pains at the beginning of the school year, coming from our previous school, however, we worked together with the teacher and Ms. Mai to address these issues. I do believe Ms. Mai has the students' interest at heart. The curriculum challenges students to learn academically, spiritually, and linguistically while giving them enough room to be themselves. The staff and PTO work hard to foster a sense of community for families attending by putting together events for the children and asking parents to be heavily involved. In terms of the physical learning space, the Montessori rooms are large and have all the engaging Montessori activities. Room for improvement: We really need a larger outdoor play area for our young children. Further, it would be nice to see some updates in the classrooms to help with cleanliness. Cleaner rugs/carpets or even removing carpet would be great, as would cleaning up the activity shelves from pen, marker, paint marks. I would love to also see us offer alternate childcare during winter break, spring break, etc for parents who are not as available to take so much time off. Additionally, I would love to see a monthly or quarterly open forum for parents to collectively meet with Ms. Mai as the director where she can share updates, hear parents concerns, etc. She does send out a monthly newsletter and this does a great job of updating parents. Overall, it is a good school. Your child will be well loved here, they will foster a sense of community, and they will definitely learn. Growing pains will require you as a parent to be engaged, discuss with teacher/director, and be open minded to change. Best of luck to you all in your decision making process!
