Tonight marked our third visit to Kindling Texas Kitchen and I can say we've never been disappointed! The food is consistently wonderful, hot and seasoned perfectly!! Tonight we split the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer and still can't figure out how they get the bacon so crispy without overcooking the scallops (they must cook separately and plate together) . . . I had the double cut pork chop with Cabernet blueberry sauce and my husband had the scallop risotto. We ordered a piece of the salted caramel chocolate cake for later. We just walked in without a reservation on a Wednesday night. Waited about 5 minutes before being seated. Looked pretty busy inside. Service was great. Items came out fairly quickly. Drinks: -TX old fashioned. Kind of has the fireball aftertaste. 3/5 -Barrel aged old fashioned. It was smooth. Good flavor. Not too much bite. Very small pour though. 4/5 -A very Cherry limeade. Seemed like a good summer drink. Not sweet. A bit tart. Mainly ice though. 3/5 Food: -16 oz Boneless Certified Angus Beef Ribeye (G). Nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked medium rare. Super large. 4.5/5 -5oz. Lobster Tail. Tasty with the butter but not worth the price tag. 4/5 -Balsamic Braised Short Ribs (G). Didn't taste the balsamic much. Lacking in flavor and salt. Very tender though but over cooked. 3/5 -Cornbread. On the sweet side. Came out very hot, but almost tasted like eating pancakes with syrup. Butter was really sweet, but it makes sense since it was honey butter 3/5 -Wild boar meatloaf. Surprisingly delicious. 4.25/5 -Fries. Came with an ample amount of ketchup. Very very hot. Not crispy, but you could tell those were fresh potatoes. 3.5/5 -Green beans with the dishes were pretty raw and not cooked much. 3/5 -Potatoes and mashed potatoes were not seasoned at all. Went with meatloaf sauce because that was a bit salty. 3/5 Overall, I liked dinner. I would recommend and might eat here again in the future. read more

Wow! Just wow! Perfect ambience, perfect service, perfect food! I have been patiently waiting to come here and finally got to last night and I wish I could dine here at least once a week! Excellent service and ambiance on a busy Saturday night. The double cut pork chop with balsamic glaze was delicious, cooked a perfect medium rare and so tender. We stumbled upon this Texas kitchen restaurant on our way to San Antonio, and what a surprise! From the outside, it looks like a regular house in the middle of nowhere--but step inside, and you're in for a surprise and unforgettable meal. The food was absolutely delicious--homemade, flavorful, and clearly made with love. It felt like eating at someone's home where they just happen to be amazing cooks. Wonderful first time experience! The staff is amazing and friendly. My husband and I had a reservation at 7:45pm, we got there a bit earlier and enjoyed the outside patio area. When our table was ready the hostess graciously guided us inside. Our waitress was very kind and polite. I ordered the king salmon and my husband ordered the scallops & grilled shrimp. Everything was amazing! The presentation of the prepared food was beautiful, and actually flavorful. Best date night restaurant we've been to in a while. We will definitely be going back. This is our go to restaurant for any special occasion or for when we want to eat out and know we won't be disappointed. The sourdough service with all the extras will change your life. The ribeye is fantastic. The wedge salad, best I've ever had. Anything I've eaten here is phenomenal. Whether you sit inside or outside, the restaurant is so charming and staff are great. So here is the skinny... Tuesday Night. I needed a place to have dinner and some cocktails. I found this place on Yelp. After reading the reviews, I thought I would I would try it. It was a good call. The location is definitely out of the way and nestled on Main Street in Cibolo. The place is a converted 1950s (maybe older) house. That was cool. There is parking on each side and it looks like it could get filled on the weekend. I went in and was asked if I had reservations. I said no because it was Tuesday night. It was busy but not at capacity or very loud. I was seated in the left side room in the front corner by the window at a table for 2. There are no menus ( at least none presented). You need to scan a QR code at the table to get the menu. They do have a full bar, so I ordered the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned because another "Yelper" recommended it. It did not disappoint. I did not order an appetizer initially because my +1 was going to arrive an hour later and she just wanted drinks. I went ahead and ordered the Caesar Salad and added shrimp. The seasoned shrimp came on a skewer and were perfectly prepared and complimented the salad. As the evening progressed, the place did get busier. I would recommend reservations and will do so next time I come. It was definitely not a weekend crowd but busy for a Tuesday night. I finished my salad and ordered another old fashioned. After some time I ordered the Entree. I spoke to the waitress, and after some discussion, decided on the "Texas Whiskey Braised Pork Osso Bucco". The place was definitely getting full and it was around 7:15 PM. The noise level was higher but you could still carry on a conversation. My entree arrived within a reasonable amount of time - about 20 minutes. I expect that for a fresh cooked meal. Don't be in a rush when you come here. Expect to have a meal and enjoy your company. The pork dish rocked. Amazing presentation and taste. The pork slid off the bone. The potatoes were delish. I even had leftovers to take home. See the pictures. All the desserts looked good and I had to try the Salted Caramel chocolate cake. It was good. The waitress was brilliant when I told her I was pretty full. She suggested packing it in a "to-go" container so I could taste it and then take the rest home. Good service! I have a feeling it is best with coffee. Overall, the staff was friendly and the food was served hot and at reasonable times. My plus one arrived and we had more drinks. All-in-all a good experience! We visited the Kindling Texas Kitchen for my wife's 60 birthday. The food and service was spectacular.

I'm so happy to see Cibolo upcoming on the food scenery and have a nice trendy spot. I used to live in this area and this is just what it needed. Be warned before you come here though, parking is tough. Their parking area is small but they have a lot across the street. We made prior reservations on a Friday night and still had to wait about 15 minutes, so I'd recommend you make one. All the service was excellent, no complaints. The cocktails were top notch, as well. They have quite the selection. We had pretzel bites and beer cheese for an appetizer, yummy! For dinner, hubby had loaded bacon cheeseburger and I had braised beef, picture attached. The burger was a bit messy but delicious! My plate was superb! Hit all the right spots. The only con for me was the fact that their bathrooms didn't have a baby changer table. We had to walk to our car to change the baby, which was a bit inconvenient. Went to dinner to catch up with a friend last night. Found this restaurant online and it absolutely blew us away. Cute little spot in downtown Cibolo. Making reservations online was very easy. We were seated quickly. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the items. I asked for feedback on the pank drank before ordering and she asked if I liked sweet drinks. I do enjoy a sweet taste, but not overly sweet, but that I do like the watermelon flavor. So she recommended that I do half lemonade and half Topo Chico instead to cut down on the sweetness. It came out absolutely perfect!! We ordered the pork belly Mac n cheese appetizer. As soon as I put the food in my mouth, I must have stopped right in my tracks or made a face as my friend immediately stopped talking and asked what was wrong. Absolutely nothing, it was divine. I was shocked by how good it tasted. So much incredible flavor, I just wasn't prepared for it. I ordered the balsamic braised short ribs. It was so tender, so juicy, just wonderful. It came with mashed potatoes, and some seasonal veggies. Even the broccolini deserves to be mentioned here. Hands down, one of the best meals (and drinks) I've had in a very long time. I don't remember our waitresses name, but she had the cutest pink hair and was absolutely a delight. She was very attentive without being too much. This was the second time I had been here and it didn't disappoint. The appetizer was fantastic - we had the bacon wrapped scallops. All of my party enjoyed their meals. I had the chicken piccata and it was excellent. Others had chicken parm, pork chops, etc. For dessert we had a very moist and rich chocolate cake. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable and kept our drinks coming and full. It's a small place and is in a house that's over 100 years old so it has lots of character. Chef Efren Sandoval came to the United States 20 years ago from the beautiful state of Michoacan, Mexico.
