I pay for insurance I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket for routine exams. McKinney Smiles is really close to my work. So it seemed like a perfect place to try that took my insurance. Went to get the bottom left done and they were working on the bottom right....which was supposedly the priority...I told the dentist this was never approved by insurance and he stopped the procedure. I had to constantly follow up with office personnel regarding these crowns....and after all was said and done insurance would not pay at all...and I would owe about 5K. Then (even though I had an appointment with Dr Chang) I was switched to an Indian Dr, who had substandard equipment in the same office. (Never in my many decades of seeing dentists has this been a protocol) She said it was to inspect my gums. That was my first and last appointment with her and Waterview dentistry . I asked when Dr. Chang would be in and they were very vague about it, saying he comes in and they don't know when he will be in the office. I did my research into highly rated dentists. Dr. Lo is one of those people. A natural educator in a dental scrubs, Dr. Lo took the time to explain common misconceptions about dental hygiene with kindness and zeal. Like I said, I've never felt more excited about flossing and brushing. I took advantage of a new patient promotion for the office and am so glad that I did. The staff are welcoming and take the time to answer questions. I was not upsold on any service. From what I could tell, this dental office is more interested in giving patients what they actually need and does not try to sell products or procedures that are not necessary. It sounds like they offer a membership for self-pay patients as well that would offest the cost for those who are underinsured as well. Happy with the discovery of this dentist.
