I wasn't tracking Kinetic although they just happened to be in my neighborhood, as I said before we have been getting a string of food trucks off and on. My streetfinder foodtruck app told me they were there. I decided to check them out for dinner as I wanted to try something new. Also I heard/read the reviews stating it's a healthier alternative to other food trucks. I ordered the baja bowl and it was great. All the veggies and spicy chicken with the sauce was a great kick. Kinetic Food Trick was in Brandon tonight. We were on a walk and saw they were there. Friendly staff told us about the menu. We explained we would be back since we didn't carry our wallets on a walk. Yumm-o! I was charged with catering a business meeting for 50 people, so I needed to find an option that had good food, healthy options for different diet preferences (Keto, Vegan, etc) as well as on that was doable with food allergies. I had tried Kinetic once in the past and remembered enjoying it, so I looked them up and contacted them. I have to say they nailed it on all my challenges. Not only that, but we worked together on a customized menu to ensure all 50 of us were able to order and get our food in about 20 minutes. I finally tracked Kinetic down, via streetfoodfinder.com. Got there after the main lunch rush, so didn't have to wait. Great customer service - Andrew and Andy make an awesome duo! Explained the tastes of the different dishes. Made a few recommendations, too. Got their "value meal" ($15): Bowl/Wrap, Side Dish, Smoothie and cookies for $15. Since I love corn and avocado, I went with the West Coast bowl. The cilantro lime dressing has a tart, but the quinoa and other toppings were the perfect contrast. I've never been a big fan of kale really, but this baked side dish was quite good! A sprinkle of sea salt touched them up nicely. I like chia. Have had a few health drinks with it. That was the ultimate ingredient that swayed my decision for the Turbo Smoothie. And, no added sweetness. Just wholesome. The oat/walnut/chocolate chip cookies (two smaller-sized treats) rounded out the meat. I'm super glad these suckers were moist :) Great lunch, overall. Look forward to trying more of their bowl concoctions! read more

OSU Location (Tuesday 2/19/19) This is the first time that I've tried it. I had the Power grains/spicy chicken/Baja ($10/measured portions).The dish presents well. The colors are, well, colorful, and the flavor is very good. However, the chicken is VERY DRY. As I came back to my desk, a co-worker said: 'I like it, but the chicken tastes like gravel.' Sounds like this might be a problem. I'll probably try once more to see if it's been resolved. If not, that'll be it. read more

Tried for the first time today and it was quite tasty. The price falls in the range of normal food trucks. I got the "west coast" bowl on powers grains with chicken. It was super good. Only complaint would be that the person making it was a little heavy handed with the dressing, but that could be easily fixed with getting it on the side. Would eat again! read more

Andy and Andrew might just be the cutest things rolling around the cbus food truck circuit. It stands as a bonus that they also serve healthy food that is delicious! They're also working really hard to source all their food locally, which is a feat in itself. I absolutely love their fresh fruit smoothies and they have this cookie - ya'll I'm not 100% if the cookie is healthy but each and every time I eat one, that's what I tell myself. I'm not big on chocolate chips, but there is something about the combination of ingredients in their recipe that makes me want more! They keep their menu very simple - it's not flooded with entrees that feature food out of season which is awesome and helps support the fact that all the ingredients are fresh. It's a different concept from the burgers and fried foods on wheels and I like them most if only for that. read more

This. Effing. Food truck. OMG! I decided to give it a try today on my lunch break and I am SO glad I did. It's AMAZING! As a Celiac disease sufferer, I typically avoid the food trucks that come to my office for lunch each week. The few that I have been able to have don't exactly offer the healthiest of options and I usually feel like rolling into a ball under my desk for the rest of the work day. After my Kinetic meal, I'm definitely full, but a good kind of full. Not the I'm-so-sick-and-stuffed-I-want-to-die kind of full. I got the Recharge Chicken bowl (and after some indecisiveness, opted for the Blueberry BBQ sauce). For $8 I got a TON of food! The tomato, roasted corn and carrots were all super fresh, crisp and delicious. The quinoa was cooked perfectly and was a great filler with all the veggies and the juicy chicken. As a former long-time vegetarian, I am insanely picky about any meat texture/taste and the chicken from Kinetic passed with flying colors. And last but not least, I'm very glad I went with my Blueberry BBQ curiosity because it was fabulous! The guys on the truck were super friendly and fast with the food and I am already planning out what I want to try from the truck the next time. Fantastic, healthy, flavorful food. read more

I'm pretty impressed with how the Kinetic guys work. They really focus on healthy, protein and veggie based bowls that are designed for people who are looking to fill up without grabbing a lot of junk. I tried the steak "Stir Fire", and the combination of meat, veggies, and peanuts was fantastic with a spicy sriracha based sauce. I tried one of their "jolt" lemon smoothies, and definently felt a bit of an energy boost afterwards, too. The only thing that Andrew and crew had on the truck that day that I didn't try was their "protein peanut butter kineticookies", but a friend of mine who was going for a run decided to take one for an after workout treat, and reported that it was an excellent decision. I agree their prices are a little higher than some of the food trucks in Columbus, but it's not so much that I think you're getting slammed for trying them out, and I appreciate that they're trying to find a different niche here in the mobile food scene. You can almost always expect to see them set up at marathon, 5k, and similar events, and they seem to be setting up some regular weekday stops for lunch at Watermark and Riverside Hospital. read more

I have never posted a review on Yelp, but as a self-proclaimed food truck aficionado, I feel compelled to say some things about Kinetic Food Truck. Health and sustainability seem to be at the core of their business. First, the service was great. Very fast even with the small line - we waited less than 3 minutes for 3 entrees and a side dish. Truck operators both made a point of introducing themselves and shaking our hands, which personally makes the experience better for me when I'm eating from a food truck. The food: I got the Stir Fire, which was spicy and awesome! Honestly, this was one of the better meals I've eaten off a food truck. As delicious as the steak bites were (they reminded me of chipotle), the main event of this dish was definitely the mixed vegetable component. I've eaten a lot of stir-fry in my day, and it's fairly common to see the vegetables get drowned in sauce or stir-fried for so long that they actually become steamed (mushy). But these were still crunchy. With the crunchy veggies and peanuts over brown rice, I had zero reservations about downing my entire meal and feeling great about it. I also don't think I've ever had peanuts in a steak dish before (usually just in chicken dishes.) It was tasty, healthy, and everything that came in my meal - right down to the wooden fork - was biodegradable. I did not try what my friends had, but they got the Med and the Chicken Quinoa dishes, and one person got a Kinetic cookie. Everyone was full and happy. Health and sustainability makes this the kind of business I want to support. I will look for this food truck again as a healthy and environmentally sound alternative to some of the others that I frequent. read more

I really liked this one. They offer several different base mixes with options on what to serve it over as well as the type of protein. I got the the Stir Fire(cucumber, jalapeno, carrot, and thai sauce) with Power Grains (rice mix with quinoa) and Spicy chicken. Since they advertise as health food I assumed it would be a small over priced bowl. I would say you get as much if not more in the bowl than if you got a burrito bowl at some other places. Not only was it a good size but there was plenty of chicken & there was a lot of the Stir Fire mix. The chicken was juicy & not overcooked, the vegetables seemed very fresh & it was spicy, but to me not overpowering. Needed to grab a drink to offset the spice but by about a quarter of the way through I'd adjusted to it. Not sure if everything is the same price but $9 seemed reasonable to me. Today they are at OSU, 600 Ackerman. I've been wanting to try them for awhile and I could now kick myself because it is GOOD! I ordered the Tailwind and a side of kale chips. The guy that took my order was very nice and pleasant. All smiles. So right away I got a good feeling. The Tailwind was very good. It came with dressing on it and I appreciate that they didn't douse the salad in it. It was just enough. Had a real nice taste that complimented the turkey bacon, and all the other goodies. The kale chips, I'm not an expert, being this is only my second time eating them, but to me they tasted fabulous. You look at them and pick them up and you think they are these little frail chips but then you put them in your mouth and it just takes over. I really enjoyed the taste of them. I will try this truck again and branch out and get one of their smoothies and try another type of bowl. All in all a perfect lunch spot! The end. read more

Went here for lunch today on the recommendation of a friend. Loved the menu. Fresh, real food with many tempting combinations. They offer in addition to their menu anything you've had their before that doesn't happen to be on the menu anymore. So the options seem relatively endless. I have difficulty with large menus as making a decision and settling on something isn't my strong suit. I got combination of fresh greens, avocado, turkey bacon and an awesome kale pesto. I added some kale chips to round it out. First impression was it was small for what I paid. Went to eat thinking I'd probably be hungry after. I wasn't. I was very pleasantly full and felt a little addicted to the kale pesto. But, since it was fresh and local I didn't feel gross. The people working the magic in the truck were really nice and approachable. With the many options I will certainly use this as a go to lunch option. read more

Awesome customer service but, the price of the food didn't justify the portion size. $8.00 for a very small amount of food. The steak was mostly fat and the broccoli was stalks, not the florets. I also got a Pure smoothie with strawberries added. The strawberries were not blended at all with the smoothie and it was way too much cayenne. Pros: healthy, can make your own dish, lots of veggies to choose from, great customer service nice & friendly, LOVED the sweet potatoes Friend #1 got the steak too and hers was bloody. Honestly overhyped. Food was alright at best, something I could easily make myself by just throwing ingredients in a bowl and hoping it works, which is probably how it was actually made in the first place. And if I'm going to be paying 8 bucks for lunch, I'm going to expect a good-sized portion that could get me through the day, which was also not the case. I wasn't full whatsoever afterwards. So, unless this truck changes some very key things, I would not recommend it for a meal. read more

Kinetic had a pop-up in the cafeteria at the Wexner Medical Center and my friends and I tried them out during our lunch break. Since it wasn't their food truck, they had a limited menu where you choose rice or salad; chicken or vegetables that look like small patties; and caprese, southwest, or baja style. I'm glad I got the salad base as it looked much more appetizing than my friends' rice based orders. I chose the chicken option caprese style and I liked mine and enjoyed how fresh it tasted, especially the pesto, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price. One of my friends got chicken Baja style and she said it was just decent and not worth the money she paid for. My other friend got vegetables southwest style her thoughts were on the other side of the spectrum. She definitely was not a fan and forced herself to eat it so she wouldn't go hungry for the rest of her shift. Honestly, when I looked at her food it didn't look good to me either. Maybe it's better when the food actually comes straight from their food truck but I don't think I'd scout Kinetic out to give them a second chance. read more

Nothing seemed as if it was freshly made, but just ingredients they bought and combined (I.e., pre-made hummus, jarred artichokes).
