    Festbier
    Ian S.

Stopped in here for a quick drink when I was in town for a conference. Space is very welcoming and the staff were attentive and quick, especially with it being busy with the conference in town. Tried there festbier and cold IPA. The festbier was my favorite and held up to others I've had around the New England area. Would stop in again if I return to Columbus.

5 WINGS 'Parmesan garlic dry rub'

The service and my server were welcoming and kind! The booth I sat at was very comfortable and had a good view! I got the Garlic parmesan dry rub wings, the skin was deliciously tasty, crispy but melts in your mouth, the meat inside tender. they make their own Ranch and it is SO good! So so good! Only down side was my last wing was very burn on one side, not the crispy char like the other wings had, like quite burnt. Regardless I live this place and will continue getting their delicious food!

We've been here a couple of times now when we're in town for Blue Jackets games. The service is great, very friendly, casual and helpful!! The food is so good with our favorites being the Brussel sprouts and Reuben egg rolls. It is not as loud as you expect a sports bar to be and the booths are high enough to give your group the feeling of being alone enough at a busy restaurant but able to have conversations at a reasonable level of voice. We love this place and we'll keep going back for sure!!!

    Sauerkraut balls

Really good beer and very tasty food. I was told by a co-worker that I must try the sauerkraut balls. They did not disappoint. Nor did the pub burger with a side of pierogis. Beers hit the spot too. If ever I'm back working in downtown Columbus, I shall return.

Turkey and Bacon Sandwich with sweet potato fries

Two friends and I visited Barley's Brewing Company for beer and dinner after work. My biggest complaint is regarding parking. There are limited street parking spaces in that area and the nearest garage was $25 for "event" parking. I ended up parking several blocks away at a different garage. Parking issues aside, the rest of the visit went well. Barley's has a restaurant on the ground floor and a barcade on the second floor. For this visit we sat in the restaurant. Our server was friendly and provided swift service with our orders. I started with a beer flight to try some of their beers. Barley's is well known for its beers. The beers I tried were great. I went with the Turkey and Bacon Sandwich with Sweet Potato French Fries. The sandwich was delicious. I also enjoyed the fries, though the portion was small on that item. Barley's has some great beer and food. It is highly recommended if you are in the area for an event at the convention center or Nationwide Arena.

Barleys was very much a bar like brewery. They had plenty of beers to choose from and was very popular in Columbus. The service was a little slow on getting our first round of drinks but the food came out at a good time. The brewery was busy as there was a sports team there together. Overall a loud place to be, but it had pretty good food.

One of our go to places downtown. The sauerkraut balls are THE BEST and the pierogies and sausage are amazing! You have to try both!

Called before hand if they took reservations, the employee that we got was very informative and helpful. He reported that if we got there at 4 we should be good and miss the rush before the 7 hockey game. Once there we were seated immediately. I ordered a sampler, it took a little for us to get our drinks but it was pretty busy. As an app we got their Bavarian pretzels. These were pretty good. As my main I got the buffalo chicken wrap. It was good. Although they did mix up our fries (not the end of the world) we just picked off of each other's plate. There sweet potato fries were the best I have had in a long time, wish they gave more. As we were sitting there it began to get more packed with hockey fans. You can tell it is a place to be when theres games going on. It was the perfect walking distance to the arena too. Less than 10 min walks

Columbus, Ohio. You might not expect to find culinary salvation between the brick walls of a Midwest gastropub. But then again, Barley's Brewing Company isn't your average neighborhood bar. It's the oldest gastropub in the city--and on Wednesdays, it becomes something close to sacred. The wings arrive like gospel. Not flash-fried garbage drowned in corporate sauce, but carefully considered, slow-seduced things of beauty. First baked, then grilled--an unconventional two-step that turns skin into something worthy of obsession and meat so tender it practically resigns itself to your mouth. You get dry-rubbed or wet. Doesn't matter. It hits. Every. Damn. Time. And just when you think you're comfortable, they offer you The Gates of Hell. A sauce that starts slow--playful, almost flirtatious--and then erupts. Not just hot. Intentional. Layers of vinegar, smoke, and chili unfold beneath the burn. You don't suffer through it--you give yourself to it. The blue cheese dressing isn't a dip. It's a mercy. Your lips are tingling, your chest humming with leftover heat. And that's when the beer arrives. It glows in the glass like it was poured straight from the sun. Backlit by golden hour, it's not just cold--it's earned. You taste citrus, maybe a whisper of malt, and that deep, grounding bitterness that anchors everything. This isn't a novelty can or a seasonal gimmick. It's brewed yards from your seat by people who still care about what beer should taste like. Then, the ricotta cheesecake. Lemon-laced. Silky. Tart. It's not dessert--it's forgiveness. A sweet benediction after your journey through spice and smoke. Barley's doesn't chase trends. They cook with conviction. They pour with purpose. They don't serve wings--they serve devotion. And in a world full of cheap shortcuts, that's a damn miracle.

Food was amazing, staff was friendly and service was fast Music wasn't too loud so I could actually hear my colleague talk at lunch and the decorations for Halloween were cute

Cool spot for burgers and beers before a hockey game. Lots of sandwich and pub grub selection, really enjoyed the beers too.

(It was clear she had serving experience though). She began by counting off numbers to match the bill with parent/child. I opted for the grilled walleye and was excited to see they had gluten free fries. The fried walleye was a HUGE serving that was definitely meant for sharing. The mozzarella sticks were a huge hit. The salads looked phenomenal and my daughter loved her burger. Now, when we got the bills it was mass chaos! The manager was very gracious in helping our server. I felt bad since she was so new. She really did a great job at handling so many orders among our 2 tables.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while but never found ourselves in downtown cbus until today…read more We saw a matinee show at the Ohio Theatre (highly recommend) and then walked over to Pat & Gracie's for a late lunch. Arrived approximately 3:30pm - restaurant basically empty (maybe 5 tables total occupied). Went to check in for 2 and the host said he had reservations at 5. Huh? So I asked do you mean you can't seat us until 5? And he said no, that we need to leave by then because other people are coming. I thought that was very weird and unprofessional. I've never had an experience like that before. It's a basic sit down place, why would you think we'd linger for more than an hour and a half? Whatever, weird feeling, but we were seated. Seated in the walkway. Not like in a path but literally blocking the walkway where you step down. Why do I say this? Because people walking by kept banging into me. Not their fault. Why is there a table there? And why were we seated there when at least 80% of the restaurant was empty???? Ok whatever. Ordered food including their signature made in-house tots. Waitress comes back and says they were slammed in the morning and they're out of tots. (Man I feel bad for the people coming at 5. LOL) whatever except the people at the next table appeared to be served tots. Food was tasteless. The Mac and cheese had a weird texture like the roux wasn't cooked properly. My patty melt was mostly bread as the patty was too small for the bread. My husband had the signature chimi burger and it completely lacked any chimichurri flavor. Like at all. We were out by 4ish (plenty of time for them to prepare for their expected onslaught) and needless to say I've unbookmarked this place from my yelp. Maybe we'll try the Mexican place across the street next time. ‍
