I was amazed that by the time I get there, park in the hospital garage, get to my PT session, in a blink of an eye after only a few minutes, the session is over. When I questioned the therapist on the duration of the session, I was told that their sessions are only for 30 mts. I was shocked as I'm facing possible surgery if this doesn't work and to literally be rushed out like I was, I felt it prudent to not spend my hard earned money and time at this establishment. I was encouraged to do exercises on my own time which I'm happy to do but then why am I going to a PT place if that's the case. I've left a message for the director and waiting for a call back. I've subsequently found another place in Greenwich and the Physical Therapist had 30 years experience and is excellent and will spend an hour with me per session. I had my first 1 hour session with him today and he was excellent so I'm glad that I changed course as quickly as I did. Greenwich Hospital is a hospital more than a PT place and as such, it feels different to be there vs. going to a PT place. This may or may not be an issue for someone. I don't recommend this establishment as they are cutting corners at the expense of patients. No one will convince me that you can do a proper PT session in 30 mts. as the actual time spent to do therapy is lot less since time is allotted for taping, talking and other needs.

She spends an hour of one to one treatment using manual therapy specifically the John F Barnes Myofascial Release method. I have chronic back issues secondary to degenerative disc disease for over 8 years and has subsided significantly with her care. Since she started seeing me I have been exercising, walking and even going to Zumba. I have not been taking any meds or injections which doctors have advised me before. I have stopped going to a chiropractor or traditional PT (TENS, laser, hot packs, US, exercises, stretches) as the relief they provide are temporary and do not last. She also addressed my frozen shoulder that completely resolved within 2 months (orthopedic doctor wanted to do steroid injection but I respectfully declined). I had a flare up last Friday as I have not seen her for over 3 months (big mistake), and it was pretty bad (could not move, intense pain, spasms in the whole lumbar area and pain shooting down my leg), felt so down and disabled. Called Maria on Saturday and she accommodated me knowing my history. Saw her for 4 treatments and feel like a new person already( today is Wednesday by the way).
