King did a fantastic job with our new HVAC system. We are all electric with a heat pump and I was concerned about how all that would go. We had a very old system and desperately needed the upgrade. Every single part of our experience was seamless, professional, and excellent! We called on a Friday and we had a crew working the next week, completing the process in just two days. From the start of working with King, it was easy! John D. came to our home, explaining what we had, what was needed and what options we had to get the most from our hvac system. He was polite, professional and very informative. He wasn't just selling stuff to sell it, he really gave us confidence from the start, knowing his information and being able to explain the options and different brands and systems to us. We were even able to get a new filter system that only needs changed once a year to save on replacement costs. We also now have a working humidifier system too! Then meeting the install pros, like Mike W. He continued to add to my confidence in King Heating and Cooling. He came in very friendly introducing himself and his crew (he did this any time a new tech would come out), explaining what would happen, answering questions I had going into the install day, and was very respectful of my property (asking where they could park, laying down protective sheets to cover flooring & stairs and they all wore booties over their boots to make sure and show the upmost respect and politeness). I appreciated that and actually didn't even expect that! I also was grateful of how John D came to make sure all was going well on the job. What company do you know of that provides this type of quality assurance, none that I know! King is different, they're not only experienced, but they go above and beyond for their customers! Mike W made sure to help set up our new thermostat and walked me through the app process and answered all questions. The whole experience was exceptional! It's a huge purchase and you want to have confidence that every part of the process is smooth. King knows just how to do that. They have a very kind office staff that welcomes you in and creates a pleasant phone experience too. They also provide updates any time your technician is coming out, sending you a text with their picture and a bio about them. I loved that. Taking extra safety precautions like this is important in our world today. I'm so happy we went with King Heating and Cooling! We'd recommend them to everyone! I would strongly suggest anyone needing service to call another company. called for service on my generator. they will not service without a contract the only thing he could do is install a battery( no price was ever mentioned) after installing the batt. I have a yearly service agreement with them, so they check my AC and furnace each once a year. It's very reasonably priced and worth every bit of it. The technicians are really friendly and are able to explain any problems in easy-to-understand terms. They're very respectful of my property each time they come. From what I've seen and heard from others that use other companies, King is the best in the area. read more

I called King to ask for a Quote for a bad gas valve on my boiler. They told me they would need to look at it. I insisted that it was just replacing a standing pilot gas valve. She said they really like to look at first. I said fine. They came by and looked at it and quoted me over five hundred dollars to replace the $175 dollar valve. Plus they tried to get me to sign a right to invoice for a diagnostics service. I refused to sign and explained to the tech that I already knew the gas valve was bad and asked for a quote on replacing it. He told me they would invoice me for the service charge anyway. Sure enough three days later I get a bill in the mail. I've worked construction for over 30 years and it is underhanded tactics like this that give contractors a bad reputation. read more

My air conditioner quit working two weeks ago and I called Bush first as they originally put the unit in in 2012. They could not come out right away. So , then I called Barrett to look at the unit. They were able to come out and look at it. What was found was two copper pipes in the outside box as fuses. Which I took pictures of. Still the unit was not able to be fixed at that time. Not an easy fix at that time. King/Busch heating and cooling out of Godfrey came out to service my Air conditioning at a later date on 6/29/2021. The Service tech Chris B. was not customer Friendly nor customer oriented towards myself or my mother. He was argumentative and did not want to be bothered by my questions or my mom's. I was unable to reach the office to follow a complaint as it was after hours at the time. So I called this Am 6/30/20121 and spoke with Karen. She was not friendly or understanding of my complaint regarding customer service. Also, she, Karen one of the owners stated she asked Brian about the copper pipes as fuses and allegedly he reported "That is not how we operate". Karen stated " Maybe you had someone else come out and they placed the copper pipes". I have not had any other Heating and cooling companies come out since the install of my unit in 2012. Busch was the original installer. Busch used to be located on Alby street in Alton until they merged with King Heating and cooling in Godfrey. Also Chris B. was planning on placing a hard start kit if he could not get the unit working. This would only be a temporary fix and would not necessarily fix the problem. You see my warranty on parts ends of my unit ends next year. So in my eyes just enough of a fix to carry the unit through the warranty period and then I would have to pay more! Please do not use King/Busch heating and cooling they will screw you. read more

I just wanted to take a moment and give a shout out to technician Will and Jennifer and Karen in the office. This winter King has been nothing but honest and patient, demonstrating outstanding customer service with some ongoing issues involving my cantankerous Goodman furnace. Even after dealing with a grouchy customer who had no heat for a few days due to a defective new part, their staff remained nothing but professional. King has far exceeded my expectations in trying to get this unit back in proper working order. You just don't find this kind of customer service this day in age. I also used their services in the fall of 2017 and was instructed how to remedy a stuck relay involving a 30+yo air conditioner, where budget is key due to age. Services were also called upon a couple years ago for a check-up on this same air conditioner in which I was told everything was in peak running order with no attempts to sell me on something new or to find a fault.
