I was really impressed with this place. For a buffet, they offer a very upscale experience. The food is everything you'd expect out of All-you-can-eat. But what really stood out was the service. My husband and I met up with a friend for dinner. The location has plenty of parking. We were there on a weekday, which I found the pricing to be reasonable. We were welcomed in, and showed to a table. I had water as my beverage. I hit the dim sum first. I liked most of what I tried. The nice thing with a buffet is trying things I would not normally try. I had some of their various shrimp dishes and some noodle dishes as well. My husband tried the Mongolian BBQ and really enjoyed his selection. We came here a week after their soft opening. It was a Monday at 5:30pm. There were people standing outside the door but when I went to the front, they said it was only a 15 minute wait. We were seated quickly. My family doesn't like seafood too much so I took advantage of the seafood section. My favorite dishes: *DEEP FRIED SOFT SHELL CRAB: This was really good. I went back for more on my second round. *SALT AND PEPPER DEEP FRIED SHRIMP: These were hot, fresh, crispy and tasty. Really good. *STEAM CLAMS *WALNUT PRAWNS: These were hot, crispy and just the right amount of sauce. *DEEP FRIED SHRIMP: In the fried section. I had it with sweet and sour sauce. I haven't stepped into a buffet since my early twenties but we had to come to check out what the hype is since they've opened several locations in a quick amount of time. And it's what I expected, generic buffet food but they have mediocre dimsum. It's roughly $35 per person but with that price, I rather get KBBQ or hotpot. The food was okay. Some things were overly seasoned and others like the salmon was really bland. The best thing they had was the Mongolian BBQ. I wished they had more veggies option but I can see why they wouldn't be popular. The dimsum was okay. The buns were adventurous but some of them made me gag because it was an herbal dessert in a bun and I could not get over it. Service was okay. They're pretty quick and attentive. The ice cream was definitely artificial but there are several options. Overall, buffets aren't for me but I can see why everyone else would like it and why it's popular. Wow, so many options! I don't remember the Arvada location had the dim sum option in the past but we haven't been there in a long time. The Westminster location had so many more options, great service, good food to the price, can't believe it's $22.99 for weekend and dinner prices. So reasonable! The food selection here is amazing... And it's massive in size.... I think my favorite is the Mongolian because I can make fresh food the way I want it. It was delicious... There is a a really nice selection of food... they have a salad bar, a appetizer bar, a fried food bar, a baked food bar, sushi station, dim sum station, and also desserts... Our server took very good care of us and really only had to take care of making sure our drinks were full and that we had the check when we were ready to leave... But they were very attentive... Today I visited King's Buffet in Westminster at 12:30 PM. There was a w aitress working at the counter on the left side, facing the entrance. I don't remember her name. I wouldn't call it a 5-star joint but it's a decent spot to go and eat. I bring my elderly father in a wheelchair and he loves their clams, shrimp, and other seafood. The people are nice. It's roomy enough to seat my dad. They have great salmon for me. They're very organized and keep items fresh. Downside is sometimes they ignore the drink refills. There really are kids running around everywhere. Who knows what they're touching. It's always packed with people but we've never had to wait long to be seated. To start off the number one reason for the 1 star. I got rather sick after eating here. I do not have a weak stomach and can eat just about anything but something I ate here gave me severe indigestion and other more severe digestive track issues. Besides that the good: The fried calamari was incredible though the chunks could have been smaller as it is a lot to chew through. The Unagi Nigiri was really good, the coconut shrimp was really good, as were the baked mussels. Service was quick and friendly though they do not seem to understand no ice in the drinks. The bad (besides getting sick): The restroom was disgusting with water all over the floor from a flooded toilet. The tables are very heavy and do not move at all, but the benches slide on the floor way too easily causing you to disrupt the people sitting in the booth behind you. The stuffed baked shrimp were tasteless and the banana pudding had a strong metallic taste to it. The crawfish were over cooked but had a decent flavor (did not have that just boiled in plain water muddy taste). I was there on a Sunday afternoon at about 13:00 so the food was always hot and fresh and apparently I got there at the right time as there was no wait to get in but when I left there were tons of people waiting outside. Apparently they get mostly Spanish speaking people as the TV was set to a Spanish only channel. The price is reasonable at $25 with drink (That is with the senior discount). TIPPING FRAUD BEWARE I went there for dinner Wednesday my total was $121.69. I tipped $5 because its a buffet. My bank account just showed my total at $136.69! I did not tip $15! I will be calling the restaurant and bank asap! UPDATE!!! I called them today to let them know what happened. The lady on the phone was very polite and helpful. Although she was nice it doesn't change my rating because the server who helped me LITERALLY changed my tip amount on my receipt.
