But in case you want more details, I've had bad luck with plumbers. I get overcharged and jerked around... I called Harry because, well, he had one review on Yelp, and it wasn't a bad one and he isn't somebody I had called before. I don't think I was the nicest guy to him on the phone (not outright rude) but I did tell him I didn't really trust plumbers in the area based on my previous experiences. He told me his story, and it's basically that he worked for the big companies for years, knew their tactics, didn't like it, and wanted to do his job for an honest price. He went to my house and unclogged my kitchen sink. Guess what, when he called me to tell me how much it cost, it was in line with what he told me when I first called him. He didn't jack the price up on me, he didn't rip me off, he was honest. He fixed the problem, he charged me what he said he would charge, and there were no additional fees. Tonight I called him about another issue. Like I said, he's the first plumber that's gotten my repeat business and he will continue to get my business as long as I still own my house in Richmond, which I hope not to for much longer, and am planning on putting it on the market this spring, if anybody is interested... just kidding, sort of... no, not really, I am not kidding, I'm ready to sell it. Along the way, when I asked about the constant leak at the bathtub faucet, he immediately knew it was from an old canister that needed replacing. This was something several other plumbers-including Woodfin-misdiagnosed. Dealing with the bathtubs ancient drain assembly was not easy but he did it without one scratch on the tub. Should also mention how nice he was and how he patiently explained everything and walked me through how I could remove the drains for cleaning. Great job! Will certainly use Hudson again and will try them when my old heat pump needs replacing.

I ordered a vanity that had three wide, sliding drawers.Kevin informed me that the piping would need to be altered for it to fit properly. I paid for him to change the piping within the walls, alter the vanity so that the drawers would fit, and he also installed new shut off valves and altered their location. After he removed the original vanity and piping, nothing remained that wasn't installed by him. His failed installation resulted in my entire two-story home flooding and my family being homeless for over 6 months. It has almost been a year, and we still haven't recovered. Because the business wasn't picking up the phone at the time of the incident, I called my insurance company. Afterward, Kevin verbally admitted fault and offered to pay me partially for my insurance deductible in front of a witness. I had enough sense to decline his offer, but he admitted fault nonetheless. Nearly a year later, he's changed his entire story and is pretending to not know anything about the incident. If I were reading this review, I wouldn't need much more information to put this company on a list of businesses not to use, but just in case you do: Are you willing to risk your home suffering damages that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars?
