    Boston cream

I've eaten here twice during different seasons of the year and both times I have been pleased with the experience. This small bakery has a wide variety of foods from breakfast thru dessert. It is clean and well kept. The faux lemon tree inspires a lot of kids to reach up. It's cute and always a delight to see something so simple inspire so much joy. The service is excellent and the prices are a little bit higher than some other places but the quality is high too, as other reviewers have mentioned. In the background is music with infrequent commercials. It's the pop songs we know but in classical format or simply classical piano music. The soursop con agua sin azucar is tangy in a good way. If you can't handle fruit tang they can add sugar and/or blend it with milk. The churrasco de pollo was good. I wasn't expecting dark meat. It wasn't over salted either, but it could have used some salsa verde or extra ground pepper for a little bit of flavor. The salad is a good size and has a little dressing for extra flavor. The rice was al dente and tasty. The plantain was cooked to perfection. The pollo con crema (soup) was excellent. I would come back here for that alone. The donut... I'll take a bite now so there's no suspense! I'm not sure of the name of it, but it looks like a Boston cream. The cream isn't as tangy as the cream inside of a Dunkin Donuts Boston cream for example. It's much lighter. The donut itself is cakier and softer. The chocolate isn't overpowering and the sprinkles add a nice crunch. The last time I was here, I had one of the egg platters on the menu behind the register on the wall. I believe it was #3 (see photograph). They misunderstood me and gave me two orders which explained the cost , but I ate both in one sitting because it was THAT good. Definitely will be back for another round in the future. Happy eats!

Food (4/5): Solid flan that was delicious and not too sweet. The latte we got was alright and not too good though. Service (4/5): The line was a bit long but the food and drink came out quite fast. Ambiance (5/5): Beautiful storefront with tons of flowers and many cakes on display. Looks very serene and a great spot visually.

This is not a traditional looking Colombian bakery. It is modern and sleek and you can tell that this place caters also to the yuppies in the neighborhood. For example, they do have familiar items like pan de bono, bunuelos, tres leches cake, empanadas and mini bandeja paisa. But they also offer an American breakfast, espresso, lattes, red velvet cake, tiramisu, cheesecake, and other American bakery staples. The prices here are also higher than other Colombian bakeries in Jackson Heights. However, I have eaten several things from here and the quality of everything was very good. The slices of cake they sell are also very generous in size and filling too.

I walked in recently after checking out the beautiful Thanksgiving/Fall decor outside upon entry. That's right! The presentation is on point. I came in wanting empanadas and walked out with said empanadas. I ordered two chicken empanadas which were delicious! They were made with the corn shell and tasted so good. I also had to try the empanada de cambray. It was tasty. Filled with queso blanco (cheese), dulce de guayaba (guava paste), y miel (honey), it was yummy. I enjoyed my snacks, and I would return to try more baked goods and other foods.

I came here with my brother last night. I was first attracted to it because the outside of the cafe is filled with flowers. I love flowers and thought it was beautiful. I had a Colombian coffee and got a guava pastry and a cheese pastry. The coffee was one of the best I have had. The pastries were also very good. The owner was super sweet and really made our experience. We loved speaking with her. Hands down, most beautifully decorated bakery I have ever been to. They also change their decor seasonally.

Guava juice, passion fruit juice, sugarcane drink, and flan
    Salina X.

The guava juice was insane soooo good. Passion fruit juice was a bit unripe but that just means it's fresh. The sugarcane drink I would pass. The flan was dense and hands down the biggest one I tried so far. 30 mins limited seating. Would come again to try the other stuff.

Napoleon with berries, chocolate glazed with sprinkles and chocolate mousse cake.

The staff are the sweetest women. This bakery is fresh and their cakes and treats are YUMMY! Definitely a nice selection of sweets. They are on the expensive side selling $6 for a slice of cake but the size makes it worth it and everything is made in-house. A neighborhood gem.

Our waiter was wonderful. I started out with the Salmon Tartare which was served with toast and a salad. The salmon was delicious and so flavorful. For the main course I opted for the Steak Frites, served with a green peppercorn sauce and salad. It was wonderful, the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the sauce was a nice accompaniment. They also have awesome fries. The others also loved the Duck Leg Confit and the Scampi Risotto. On to dessert and they were all sublime, I tasted them all. The Creme Brulee was lucious, the Chocolate Mousse was decadent with rich chocolate notes and the Il Fouttante was amazing. If you've never had Il Fouttante, it is a meringue floating in creme anglaise, their version was topped with caramel and pistachios; it was excellent. All the newbies agreed with how great it was and they want to return. As always Bistro Eloise delivered a fantastic dinner.

Nothing beats watching world-class soccer in a cozy French bistro packed with fans cheering every kick. Before the game even got going, they welcomed us with warm, perfectly baked French bread and butter. That's how you know you're off to a good start. We kicked things off with the Beef Bourguignon, and wow... rich, tender, and packed with flavor. Next came the Grilled Octopus & Chorizo with paprika butter roasted fingerling potatoes--smoky, perfectly cooked, and absolutely worth ordering. Then came the heavyweight champion: Le Steak Frites. A perfectly medium-rare grass-fed strip steak covered in a green peppercorn white sauce with crispy fries. Zero complaints. Just clean plates. The match was exciting, the food was outstanding, and for a couple of hours it honestly felt like we were sitting in a little corner of Paris instead of Queens. Final verdict: I came for the World Cup, stayed for the steak, and left wondering if I should start saying "oui" instead of "yeah." If the French eat like this every day... I finally understand why they don't rush through dinner.

Cozy but not cramped, cute little spot that's great for Summer relaxed vibes and munchies. They're specialized in Latino food and drink. They apparently have a whole flight of Margaritas and/or Mojitos to sample - I'd love to try one sometime, however yesterday I stuck with a regular Margarita and was pretty pleased. Clearly made in-house, none of the store-bought drink mixes or anything involved. My mom and I split a few appetizers between the two of us and were quite full, even had some food to bring home. Went with the birria tacos (solid), a trio of other tacos (steak + chicken + pork), and a plate of fried plantains with beef and mushrooms that was really fun - first time we'd had that, glad the waitress talked us into it. Everything came with home-made guac as well. They have a full bar with quite the selection of drinks, lots of Happy Hour specials up on the walls, and a solid, straightforward menu of additional appetizers and also burgers and sandwiches. The staff are super nice and upbeat. My Ma was buying, and I believe she spent about $85 for 3+ appetizers and a drink. Not exactly cheap but it you think of it more as a filling and fairly tasty lunch for 2, roughly $40 each - it's not bad at all. Will definitely come back and give that flight of Margs a try!
