I went to the 259th Street Hillside Location. I ordered the beef kabab and fish curry with 4 garlic naan, a mango lassi, and Diet Coke. It came out to be $48 and change. They had a lot of meat options. Many kabab options. We were full when we got done. It would've been better if they created name tags for the food items because the staff had to go one by one and name each food item to us. I didn't see any prices listed anywhere in the store. No receipt. The mango lassi was very good. Garlic naan made fresh and to perfection. Food was overall great. You can eat inside. To use the bathroom, you go down the stairs. Lady is sweet talker, Quantity and quality is low. Price she charged $85.00 that was agregious for Naan and Channe, One Kabab . She charged $18.00 for one Beef Behari Kabab. My friend was very generous who paid her, but that was not the price of Desi food. No proper bathroom, which is located in Basement. I never heard of one behari Kabab $18.00. That is rip off. Spoiled food. As soon as I got home I tried to heat up curry and it was sour. They definitely knew the food was spoiled but they packed it up and hand it to me. What does that say about their character ? When I told the owner, he got all loud and disrespectful. Oh no no no ! I was like damn calm down. You selling me food and it was spoiled and you have the audacity to get loud and obnoxious about that. Ask before you buy, when did they make this food ? 3.5 STARS Walking past this place on Hillside Ave and I got hungry. Sign in the window for a Chicken Sandwich only $3. OK I shall brave it and try some mystery meat, aka chicken. The place was empty when I walked in, so I got a bit nervous ordering from this place and with a grade pending in the window, yea I'm asking for a battle with the toliet later on... Ordered one portion of the chicken sandwich, and they took it from the fridge in display and placed it in the microwave to heat up. WTF? Microwave? Ok I'm really nervous about going to the toliet later on. When it was done, they dressed the chicken kebab with onions, lettuce and everything was wrapped in a fresh warm naan bread. When I walked out the door, I took a bite and I must say it wasn't too bad. It needed a little sauce because it was a bit on the dry side. But the chicken kebab was well seasoned and pretty well cooked...even though it was just premade and warmed in the microwave. Will try again next time, but ask for extra sauce. A small, unsuspecting place right on Hillside Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Don't blink, you'll miss it! My friend and co-worker (who hails from Bangladesh) took me here for lunch one day and I was hooked immediately. We shared a huge plate of chili chicken (I'm not sure of the name for it in the native tongue) along with a side of okra. I came back a second time today and got the butter chicken with yet again, a side of okra. The food here is so tasty, it's really really good, BUT the customer service is TRASH. They do not answer their phone at all and the lady in the front doesn't speak a lot of english to answer questions properly, i understand some things but not its not clear enough... Bengali/ Bangladeshi food is delish. Not unlike Indian, there are many similarities and differences. We split the chicken biryani with stewed goat and a curried potato small fish dish. So hearty and full of flavor. The fish was a first and definitely not last. It was delicate but rich. The potato bits were almost creamy and fall apart as were the teeny fish with the last bit of chew left. It was mixed with fresh cilantro and just the perfect bit of spiciness. read more

Nice warm nan seems superflous with rice, but it comes with it, and it is quite good. Like all the places in this strip of Hillside Avenue Bangaladesh restaurants, they use microwaves to heat up warm food you choose from the display case. Like all the places, the food was spicy! I was in town for Habitat For Humanity's Carter Work Project and were staying at the Ramada Inn down the road. Our friend who had come into town a week earlier had scoped out the local eateries and had told us King Kabab was good. We stopped in for some chow after a hard day of building houses. I'll have to say it was actually quite good. I was pretty hungry so the portion that I got wasn't enough for me. I needed more rice or naan or something as I ate a good portion of my friend's meal as well. The goat and lentil curry was rather thin, but it was tasty. I would have liked something a little thicker that would have held better on the naan or the rice. Their food is kept in trays on display. When you order it, they put it in a bowl and then put it in the micronuke to warm it. It's not ideal but it does the job. I'd come back if I were ever in the area. Today we went and as we were eating, my friend found a dead insect (seemed like a roach) in the food. We called the waiter and all that we were told was, it was their mistake and they are sorry. For me to give someone a five-star is very unlikely. This location was very clean, except for the urine smell in the bathroom. Staffs was extremely nice and did not lose patience with me even after I asked them one question 3 or 4 times because I didn't understand the difference between the two chicken items. It was chicen nihari or bihari idr....and tandoori chicken. Sorry, anything that looks red to me...is tandoori!!! We had the chicken kabab rolls and chicken bihari. Chicken bihari was really soft and tender. Had nice mild and a little spicy flavor to it. The kebabs were a little on the thinner side but had great spicy flavor to it. The only one thing I was not crazy for was the red sauce. It tasted like a combination of thinned down ketchup with churran. I usually like the green chutney. But that's just a preference not to take away from the food. The chai was also pretty good in flavor. They don't deliver which is a bummer since I work 5 blocks away but maybe this will get me to get up and go to walk. Definitely definitely going back! read more

Food is great. And I go there almost every time if I'm hungry and near by. I can say not once I had bad food. But one staff member was showing me attitude because he mixed up my order then got mad at me because I told him that's not what I ordered. My husband and I come here every week now all the way from Manhattan! Love their food, everything is great the staff their very friendly. I love their Bengali tea its by far the best I had so far. I ordered the beef meatball plate for $7 and they gave me 3 meatballs and a gross looking egg. Want rice?? Add $3. If that wasn't bad enough they took the meatballs and put them directly in the microwave...which were in plain sight for all to see! Also they must have been microwaving tons of food because a whole section of lights went out...must have popped a breaker. Also the staff was pretty cold and unhelpful. I've never actually been inside of the place. I always get my food delivered and i have never been disappointed. I order through Eat24 which tracks every step. Delivery is always very quick. Food is always delicious and hot. I recommend the Chicken bihari Kabab. Its really good, but I personally don't think you get enough of it for its cost. Everything else is great though! read more
