Wow! $2 for a Large twist cone. Winner! Filled to the bottom and not hollow like DQ cones. Licked clean, tastes like chocolate milk as my husband says. Friendly family owned. Happy to stop by here whenever we're in the neighborhood. Mmm!!

Almost every town has a place like this. One remembered most fondly by those that started visiting as a child as they and the town grow up around it. Our first visit to King Kone was many years ago on a hot summer day for a soft serve cone. We weren't disappointed with the ridiculously oversize serving. Since then we've been back for burgers and shakes as a relatively quick stop (5 minutes off of I-5) on road trips. The atmosphere is rough with patched linoleum floors and four Formica booths. The only touch of decor are the white lace curtains and no smoking signs. This is a mom-and-pop operation with the wife taking orders and making the ice cream treats while the husband runs the grill, but we've never gotten a warm feel from the owners. Really more taciturn (rarely a word spoken) and I get the impression they have seen everything pass through these doors. The burgers come in a variety of patty sizes and quantities with a number of different fixings. The larger burgers are cut in half and speared with toothpicks and the fries are your typical crinkle cut variety. Sodas are Pepsi products. What is hard to believe is that this also operates as a drive through. Not terribly obvious from the road, but we saw several use it on our most recent visit. For ice cream, they have about a dozen flavors of hard ice cream in addition to soft serve, which I think is the way to go. When we exited a different way this time, the road took us past fancy new condos about a block down the road. It really was a striking contrast to the run down appearance of King Kone and its neighboring businesses. I do have a fondness for old fashioned diners, especially The East Wind Drive-In by Bridge of the Gods in the Gorge, but King Kone isn't on the top of my diner list.

Restaurant was dirty and tired. Left and went to Burgerville. Also not easy to "see"--drove by twice before realizing it was there.

The inside looks just about the same as the outside. No card, cash only. Smells like Grease. There is no reason to go in there.

Best soft serve ice cream in town. Light and creamy. A family tradition to go when visiting Albany.

It's always fun to come here and get a quick and inexpensive cone and munch on it while we head back to Corvallis.

Outstanding Service @ BJ's Old Fashioned Ice Cream in Lebanon, OR. !!…read more Luckily we arrived before the crowds began to gather on this warm Sunday afternoon. There was at least 20 people there when we left. Service by Taryn was outstanding. She was friendly and attentive to us and all patrons. She stayed focused and patient through all the orders and everyone wanted something different, not just simple single scoop kind of desserts. I'm not sure why there would be only one employee on the weekends in the summer months, as it would have been more ideal for her to have help... I also would have liked the option to leave a tip on my card, but thankfully we had a little bit of cash to put in the tip jar. The ice cream parlor itself had lovely old school wall art, cute dessert themed decor, and many places to sit throughout. Great selection of flavors, sizes, cones, and toppings. They also had caramel popcorn, pre-made ice cream sandwiches, brownies, and chocolate covered frozen bananas for sale! Thanks Taryn! You're a Star!!

She held her own. Smiling working fast and friendly. It took a while but we got our ice cream. Good for her hard work, determination and persistence. I hope her company knows how hard that shift was. And the ice cream was great. When I'm back in town, I will go again!

I returned multiple times with proof of purchase, including my receipt, but was still refused service and denied the food I had paid for. It was not until the fourth attempt, after my wife personally contacted the manager, that I was finally allowed back inside and given my order. As someone who has worked as a General Manager for several restaurant chains, I found this situation completely unacceptable. The level of unprofessionalism, disorganization, and lack of customer service displayed by the staff was shocking. Customers should never be denied access to food they have already paid for, especially when they can provide proof of purchase. This experience reflects poor management, inadequate employee training, and a disregard for basic customer service standards. I hope ownership and management address these issues to ensure no other customer is treated this way in the future. I will be contacting "American Dairy Queen Corporation" for further reviews and discussion Can't believe a fast food joint such as " 2710 PACIFIC BLVD SE Albany, OR 97321" would allow this... this is definitely poor management!!!!!!! Not to mention the altercation I had with a Red headed gal that was the "manager" for this location balled up and threw my receipt at me Very sad I'll make sure to tell All of my family and friends to never dine here again!!! Very sad!!!!

I should have went to a regular ice cream shop to get my monies worth! Also disorganized at the process of making the orders. Was not feeling the disorganization and the unsanitary way of moving the product being created!
