Definitely a fan of this new King Soopers. Not only is it within walking distance of the domicile, but it's much nicer than the Ghetto Soops that seem to surround the neighborhood. It's clean, bright, with high ceilings, better deli/bakery/meat areas, as well as having a great cheese-counter type of place with top-notch cheeses and spreads. The one drawback is that it's always ridiculously crowded (to be expected for a nice new King Soopers) and in fact it seems that the aisles are actually smaller than other stores. I have no information with which to back this up, it just seems like I'm inevitably waiting in every aisle to make my way through while someone chooses between frosted flakes and raisin bran or couscous and quinoa. To top it all off, this Soop has a liquor store, which seems to have legitimately good prices. It's not enough to knock a certain store which could be called a "Cost Company" off the perch of Mecca of cheap booze, but it's certainly much closer than the nearest "Cost Company" that sells booze, so the Soop wins again. Definitely a great store with good staff. All the decent selection of a normal Soops, but I'm excited for traffic to calm down a bit. I'm eager for the day when I don't get frustrated walking around the grocery store. read more

I'm updating this review for two reasons... Reason one- a fellow mom and I came back to this king soopers to buy a Christmas tree. The same supervisor (I was told by my regular store- the Queen Soopers BEST STORE EVER, in Capitol Hill That she was NOT a manager..) I had an issue with the first time st this store, was outside lighting up a cigarette. We were in the car and did not see any trees except the "tree-cycle" bin for old trees. I said "excuse me" out my car window to the supervisor.. " do you have any more Christmas trees?" And she responded "over there.. and pointed to the garbage trees! I said "those are all dead.." and she said "WELL YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE ANY WAYS!!" I swear to god.. all I could say was "I didn't do anything! You don't treat people this way!" And drove off. My friend was just as taken aback as I was and I had to pull over because, I'm embarrassed to say, this made me cry... treating someone this way strictly for the way they look is completely unacceptable. It's discrimination and she should truly be embarrassed for herself. If I did something to her that was unacceptable by her standards, then I apologize for that. BUT I didn't come anywhere near acting like, or actually, shoplifting. She should ABSOLUTELY NOT BE ALLOWED TO WORK WITH CUSTOMERS!!!! Reason two- I called you to talk to a store leader ship about this because I was extremely offended. This is the new closest store to my house and it's not fair for me to be inconvenienced because one woman does not like the way I look. I talked to Store leader ship at Queen Soopers and they found the information I needed to discuss this with the store leadership. I was put on the phone with the wonderful man named Dominic..I do believe.. He listen to my concerns and he made me feel validated and also agreed that this behavior was completely unacceptable and that is not what King Soopers is about. He said he would have a meeting with the front end and also find out who it was that treated me like this and he would make sure that it didn't happen again. He invited me to come introduce myself to him and other store management so they can make sure my future Trips to that store are much happier. So if I could give him a five star rating I absolutely would. I will go to the store again now that I feel comfortable doing so, thanks to this man. I'm really hoping I can come back to this review and give them five stars but I suppose I actually have to go into the store again before I change my star rating... Yeay for having beer, wine and liquor! Albeit on the expensive side, it's a nice convenience. If it's on "sale" it seems to be priced competitively, but if it's not on sale - you're likely paying more than what you would at a liquor store. Safeways seem to do the same thng with their products - mark up the price so they can put it on "sale" when you use your card to make you feel like you're getting a deal. Much happier with this King Soopers than the one on Hampden & Monaco. Much larger selection of fresh produce and other items. Likely my go-to from now on, but maybe its only because of getting gas discounts. I don't know why I feel like I'm missing something here, but I just have lukewarm feelings in general. 4 stars because of the alcohol - otherwise I'd give 3. read more

This is a really nice KS. Some of the KS can be pretty ghetto fab, but not this one. It's huge and brand new, so everything is sparking and shiny. I have a feeling it will stay this way too. Apparently this is the new flag-ship for KS, so standards will be upheld. There is a great seafood section and I love the deli. There are several fresh soups across from the deli. There are 2 cheese bars, 1 of which is quite expensive. There is an olive bar as well. This KS also has a really nice liquor store located within it's walls. There is an outside entrance you can go through if you are looking just for alcohol. I noticed a large computer on the wall you can use to determine which wine will go best with your dinner, pretty handy, if I were a wino. Compared to nearby liquor stores, this one is a bit overpriced. I was expecting more organic choices. What choices were there were mixed in, which is nice in it's own way, but not if you are looking to grab some quick items. You have to track them down throughout the store. I was disappointed in the selection of organic items, especially in the meat section. I had some in my hand and put it back. Parking is an issue. It's difficult to enter and exit, it's congested in that area. There also aren't any places to return carts in the lot, you have to take them back in. read more

This has got to be the coolest grocery store I've been in. first it is super clean. They have a super sized deli with a salad bar, soup bar, olive bar, cheese bar, a sushi bar, and a wing bar. Thats right I said wing bar with about 20 different flavors to choose from. On top of all that they have a liquor store attached to the store with a large selection of beers, liquor and wine. Excellent experience. Next time I'll have to still during lunch. read more

I've been at this pharmacy for 3 years and I keep giving them another chance. I also justified the bad service and staying here bc they have the drive-up, which is convenient. Now it's closed (broken?) indefinitely, and time to switch to another Kings. It's not overestimating to say that 50% of the time I come here they don't have my prescription ready. I've told them before how frustrating it is, and unacceptable when I've called 48 hours (sometimes) in advance. Today I get told that I need to call and talk to a pharmacist to tell them I really do want my prescription, and to fill it?!?! After I've used the automated line to call my prescription in?!?! I'm sick of this place and will transfer to another where hopefully the standard of service is higher. read more

OK. There are two things high on my list of must-haves in a store. The ever anticipated arrival of my boyfriends (you may have seen them, they drive a big red truck, they sometimes flash their lights at me and they seemingly follow me EVERYWHERE...silly boys). Oh, and the other thing. Beer. Yes, this store sells the sweet holy beer and other boozy-type-stuff but they had me at beer. I can buy my lettuce, tofu, kitty litter, paper towels and beer. Did I mention they have a wing bar? I KNOW! Also, there is a large kosher section and enough free samples to keep me in the store in case one of my boyfriends needs me to watch his cart as he runs off to some emergency or something....sigh....boys boys boys.... read more

I'd give this store a zero if I could the fuel center is so disgusting and very dirty and the lady who is there in the mornings now does absolutely nothing but sit in her little box. Ive come to get gas and drinks and quite a few times I couldn't get drinks because she couldn't make sure there were drinks. I appreciated the lady who was taken off of the mornings because she made sure things were getting cleaned and everything was stocked but this new lady doesn't care at all. When I first got to Denver, this is one of the first grocery stores I went to. I spent about 2 hours wandering around it looking for the food. When I saw the pasta section, I literally did two laps up and down every aisle looking for the other pasta section. I guess this is because I am spoiled and at the Pittsford Wegmans which is the greatest grocery store on earth, there are at least 5 different spots where you can find pasta. If you want Pastina, you're going to have to ask someone on the East Coast to mail it to you. Pluses of this store: they do have Pecorino Romano which is my favorite grating cheese. Other things you can buy at King Soopers are frozen pizza and ice cream. They are lacking in peanut butter accented varieties though. The gas station here is a nightmare and I will probably let my car run out of gas before I go back there. There are huge lines and no one can figure out how to get their car in our out of spots. I had to move my car so the lady in front of me could drive away from the pump and I was nowhere near her to begin with. The gas station line also spills out into the regular parking lot and no one knows what to do. They don't have skin on pork butts or a good bean selection. The produce is overpriced and sketch. I don't have a good feeling about any of the fresh food items, like it feels like I'm eating a bowl of cancer probably. read more

Don't ever use any online ordering from King Soopers. They do not update their quantities online. So I ordered over $100 worth of cleaning products and decided to go ahead with paying the $10 delivery fee. The website said the items were in stock. The website clearly said that I could order up to a maximum of 5 of each item (which I did). The confirmation letter I received after placing the order said the order was confirmed. Then the next day I come home and find that only 5 boxes of kleenex and 2 paper towels were delivered. The net result is I paid $10 delivery for $16 dollars worth of paper products, none of which was what I really wanted. Bait and Switch. I called customer service and they said they couldn't refund the delivery fee. Basically, IF YOU ORDER $200 worth of groceries and they decide to deliver a $1 package of gum, YOU ARE STILL ON THE HOOK FOR THE DELIVERY FEE. That is guaranteed and you will have no recourse. Buyer beware. Pure scam, unprofessional, bait and switch. read more

I am in here almost every day. I do love the grocery store and this one leaves nothing out. I can get booze, rent movies, Starbucks lattes, taste wine, chat with staff and just grocery shop. My only complaint are the patrons (which is probably the case at most grocery stores) who have no clue that there are others shopping around them! This place gets crazy on the weekends and I try to avoid it. Having 100 people oblivious and in your way does not help with their cart in the middle of the aisle. Before discovering this King Soopers close to home, I always went to the busiest, cluster*ucked Target in the country for my groceries. Only to to discover there was a much closer, less busy option. Granted, this King Soopers is absolutely PACKED on the weekends. Even the lines to self check-out go into the aisles. So much to where you cant even get through in the front. I usually go on a weekday to where I can avoid the crowds and usually have an aisle to myself every once in awhile. The busy factor is the ONLY reason I knocked off a star. Despite all this, the inside of the store is beautiful and always clean. The clerks are always friendly and ask me how my day is and if I need help finding anything. I have never been asked at the grocery store if I need help finding stuff. Usually it's some bratty high schooler that scans my stuff and takes my money and it's done. The produce section is always impressive. Everything is always fresh and it's the right price! I also like the fact that if you are a King Soopers member, every time you spend a $100 you get 10 cents off every gallon of gas at their gas center. Cant go wrong there! read more

A quality grocery store. A wide variety of items and for the most part pretty damn good produce, all at a pretty affordable price. My favorite part of the establishment is their connected liquor store that has all the usual party favorites and more. Coolest feature they have is build your own six packs so you can mix and match multiple beer styles! Unfortunately, I am writing this review on a day where by off chance I had a animal go missing and because of that, I wanted to post something on the bulletin board to notify people if they found him. To my surprise they don't have one and it really surprised me. Rather than complain about it I am going to suggest you add one immediately as a place for community members to communicate. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this supermarket. I have the good graces to live in Glendale where the one King Soopers in Colorado carries beer, wine and spirits resides which means I can get all my shopping done all at once. This is one of the most well-stocked King Soopers and I'm told is the flagship store for where they shoot commercials. For all my Jewish friends, they have a massive kosher frozen and dry section. Their newly renovated cheese shop is fantastic and they're often doing tastings on the weekend (and I also find they'll let you taste pretty much anything if you ask). To address the lower rated reviews: (1) don't even think about shopping here right after you get off work - it's insanely packed, and yes, the parking for this huge store is full. (2) I wouldn't shop here on Sunday late in the afternoon - the produce section and anything that is on sale is likely to be out for a few hours because they're hit hard with customers on Sundays. If you shop on Saturday or later at night during the week or on Sundays, you're GOLDEN! Well worth planning around given the other lackluster options in this part of town. read more

Things I didn't know about King Soopers... The deli counter closes at 10. In hind sight that makes perfect sense. A friend and I were starving after studying late Sunday night and limited options for food at that hour. We went to King Soopers and started drooling looking at some of the pasta salads they had at the deli counter. Christian hooked us up and served us even though it was just after 10. The employees there are very helpful and I have to say it was pretty convenient that we could also pick up a 6 pack of beer while we were there. read more

I will say that my absolute favorite reason for loving this Soopers is the fact that they have a liquor section within the building. Since moving away from the South, I've sincerely missed picking up a bottle of wine (or vodka) to go with the dinner I have planned. This King Soopers has got it all...except for parking and enough employees. If you are lucky enough to find a parking spot on the lot and make it inside, prepare to wait for a good forty five minutes to get something from the deli. NB: As far as a facility, this King's is probably the best in the state. They've got a liquor store inside open every day til midnight (including Sunday, praise the Lord!) and a massive selection of healthy and regular stuff. And yes, they have the infamous penny horse that kids can ride. The parking situation alone warrants a two-star score, especially when you consider that they had the option of creating a massive, partially covered parking structure. I'm perplexed... Why would a grocery store get rid of their hand baskets? Certainly not for customer convenience or appreciation. Perhaps to force customers into buying more, as the only options are now carts that must be pushed around their narrow aisles? This location is at a disadvantage as is, as they are hard to get to from anywhere except from Leetsdale. The store has insane lines that are crowded from not having enough space between the registers and aisles. Not to forget the narrow aisles mentioned above, that customers lose their awareness bubbles in, losing all consideration of those trying to pass them. We were prepared to drop some money here last night for our dinner, but only needed a small basket of rather expensive items. Because we were really hungry and I'm a hurry, we just wanted to grab a basket, navigate this insanely busy store with ease by getting in and out without pushing an unnecessary cart around while getting stuck in cart traffic hell. But instead, we turned around and walked out. If you take away a convenience to be tricky and profit off of your customers more, giving them something bulky, slowing them down to *hopefully* force impulse purchases out of them... I can only suggest where they should shove these now missing baskets. Besides the time I had a full cart full of groceries at 11pm that they unapologetically forced me to purchase on their self-serve register a year ago. (They could have easily had one drawer open to help me... But instead it took me 15 aggravating minutes to complete my order...), this is the final straw. We will not be going back to this location. Great job to store management for having a greedy idea backfire in their faces and nightly deposit. read more

I tried to get what I needed but turns out that the entire cold section was blocked off for workers. Fine, I get it, there are only so many times you can have work done in a 24 hour store. Can you not have things available in a different area though? Then having to wait 25 minutes for the two self checkout lanes that are open. I'm already doing your job for you, why can't you accommodate the already inconvenienced customers by opening a couple more do it yourself lanes? You literally have to do nothing but stand there. Shiny! New! Shiny! New! Humongaloid Kosher aisle is great on snacks, and a bigger-than-expected kosher wine section. Dang!-now-thats-a-Salad Bar!, bakery, Starbucks, a dedicated huge and clean parking lot, close to work, plants, produce, and wine, oh my! Great place to shop, surprising selection. But...why are the cheeses in 3 different places in the store? No matter, I'll browse for the Parrano and leave the Lucerne. Minus a star for carrying Aarons products from Agriprocessors. This is one of the best King Soopers in town. They have a salad bar, cheese bar, fresh deli, liquor store, and even a starbucks! I recently started going to this store because i had issues with a few employees at there location up the street. When i came in today the only problem i had was the deli staff they were not orgonized and require that you take a number when you arrive. Even when there not busy. Im sure the lady was just having a bad day. The checkout clerk was very friendly. Overall i definetly will be back and i will give the deli clerk another chance. The store manager Joshua wouldn't allow the purchase of gift cards with a credit card so battled rush hour traffic to go back home and fetch my checkbook. Then their system rejected my check and they couldn't tell me why and wouldn't allow debit card. Fortunately this King Soopers is fairly close and moderately easy to get in and out of. Laid out nicely inside, once I learned where things were at, shopping here is somewhat of a breeze. Be careful in the parking lots as there are folks here that simply do not pay attention. Same goes in the aisles as there are the oblivious ones inside who want to run into your ankles from behind. The staff at the store for the most part are very helpful. The liquor store addition is excellent with a great selection of beers, wines and spirits. I try to avoid the gas station as the lanes are many times chaotic and without direction. All in all, probably the best Kings in all of Denver. read more

I love my new King Soopers! True one-stop shopping: groceries, Starbucks, liquor store, florist, banking, pharmacy (with drive thru) and gas station (use your rewards points for $0.10 off per gallon!). The employees are also super friendly and helpful. Yes, it was incredibly busy when they first opened (at Thanksgiving, no less), and yes, it is sometimes still very busy, but you just have to know when to go. I would not suggest late mornings or early afternoons on the weekend. I do wish there were more cart returns in the parking lot because I hate the way people think it's fine to leave their buggies in the lot where they might ding my car. But I guess more cart returns would take up valuable parking spots. If you are just running in to the liquor store, you can park in a separate lot behind the store - sweet! There are "king"soopers and then there are "rich king" soopers. This is one of those rich King Soopers. This is where you get premium cupcakes, cheeses, seafood, etc, that you would not see in other stores. Huge bonus on this location is that they have a liquor store! Two things about the liquor that is worth noting....1. There mix and match six pack of beer deal. Around this time, I think it makes a good gift for parties. 2. There bomber selection is really diverse. Lambic beers are really popular right now and they have a pretty diverse selection. This place loses a star only because it is crazy hard to get parking a lot of the times. But truth be told, I often drive past he Monaco King Soopers, to shop at this one. read more

This is supposedly a flagship store for King Soopers, and this is a sterling example of why: it's got everything. Food. Pharmacy. Flower shop. Specialty cheese area. Olive bar/tapenade/mushrooms/hummus area. Huge bakery area and nicely displayed wares on the tables in front. Discounted gasoline. (Chicken) wing bar, about a dozen options (pork ribs, too!). Massive salad bar. Deli. And in the SW corner of the store, boozery. Yes, this place has a liquor store...I won't say it's got the lowest prices around, but probably far from the highest, too. The store is super clean, possibly to be expected from a newer store, and brightly lit...not like some King Soopers where it seems the aisles are slightly dimmed or off-pure-white, somehow. The cashiers and pharmacist are friendly and eager to help, as are the deli counter people. Parking is big and spacious, and it's not a far walk even when the lot's fairly "full" (for that location). It's an easy jet-in for people going S on Leetsdale, or fortunately for me, heading S on Cherry St. It's about as far away for me as the 825 S Colorado Blvd. location, without the press of S Colorado Blvd traffic and idiots trying to run you down. I feel lucky to live about a mile and a half away from here. For a King Soopers, or yes, any grocery store, Whole Foods/Sprouts/Sunflower etc, this is a reasonable expectation for "woo hoo, this is as good as it gets". read more

I recently visited this location for my first time last night, as the store is open 24 hours which is a plus. I went in to stock up on some items and couldn't find 32 pack of King soopers waters. An associate named Rodney tried to help me find them and insisted that he would get them out of the back for me. I declined the offer only to have him go and get the water out of the back from the night supervisor Phil who was also very helpful and notified me that the waters were 3 for 10 dollars. These guys went well out of their way to make sure that I had what I needed. I will most certainly be returning to this location in the future. Not so much a review of the grocery store (which fine, but nothing special) as a review of the attached liquor store. Let's start with selection. The selection here isn't quite what you'd expect from a warehouse-style store (i.e., Tipsy's, Chambers). That said, it's on par with some of the larger stores in the area (before this store opened, I used to shop at Wallaby's, which has a comparable selection). If you're looking for a specific rare vintage, this may not be for you. But for your day-to-day booze needs, I can't imagine this store not having what you're looking for. Next up, price. Overall, price is comparable to other stores in the area. That said, bring your Sooper Card and get some great deals. Wine is 10% off if you buy six bottles (and you get a nifty little carrier). They also have excellent sale prices. If you're a wine drinker, you can save a massive amount of money here. Finally, let's call it "ambiance." As I said, i used to shop at Wallaby's, which has a good selection and decent prices, but is kind of trashy. King Soopers is a big upgrade. Clean, well-lit, wide aisles. it really is a pleasure to shop here. One note, I haven't had the opportunity to ask the staff for recommendations, so i can't speak to that aspect. read more

This store is extremely clean and fully stocked with anything that you could need. I was coming down from my hotel one night and I was really hungry. I ended up going to the deli area and got a King Soopers meal from the man behind the counter. He was extremely congenial and we began talked to where he explained this is one of the busiest stores in the country. He exuded wonderful customer services. I was very impressed with the store and it is in a nice area. I highly recommend coming here for all of your needs. They have EVERYTHING! read more
