I was in the area traveling for business and had time and need for a massage. I noticed King Spa and decided to give it a try. I was very impressed with the facility and started to relax immediately. When the therapist, Amy, came in she greeted me in good English and proceeded to ask me where my issues were. She then proceeded with an excellent massage with an emphasis on my neck and shoulders where my main discomfort were. The experience was not rushed in any way and I left feeling much relaxed and free of pain (until driving later for my return trip, LOL). Once they did, they charged me beforehand, but that didn't bother me, so I wanted to pay with my card. The lady couldn't figure out how to run my card through the machine, but I wasn't bothered. I was hoping to have given this place 5 stars but that's not the case. I felt so uncomfortable the whole time. This place is a "spa" yet they don't have professional massage tables, the lady that was giving me a massage kept emphasizing that I put my head in the middle but there was not hole to breath in. I felt like I almost suffocated about 5 times. I also let the lady know to be gentle & soft( about 4 times) Not the case at all. I felt relieved once it was done that was not a massage that was big pinch. Not to mention, I've never in my life had a massage therapist touch my ass, that was about 1/3 of the massage.. there were about 7-10 time were I kept thinking to myself when will this be over because it was hard and painful. Oh and to top it off at the end the lady kept slapping me & got on top of me. She also touched the inside of my thigh (never been touched there from a massage therapist) and laughed, it truly freaked me out. I wouldn't be surprised if I wake up tomorrow to a lot of bruises. Wow! Talk about bang for your buck! King Spa is a new massage place that's been open just three weeks. On my way to the eye doctor heading down Preston, I was lured in by their enticing $28/hr massage banner. Later on in the day, I visited with my SIL. We called ahead for availability and they were able to accommodate with a 15 minute notice. The $28 special turned out to be for the foot massage only so we ended up going with the combo massage for $38, which was 30 minutes body and 30 minutes feet. We were asked about where we wanted the massage to focus--the back for me. We were also asked about pressure preference--hard please! First impression of the place...clean, clean, clean! We were lead to a room with two comfy massage tables. We had the foot massage first and it included a nice soak prior. The body massage was the best! Lots of pressure and focus on my knots. I felt a little beat up but in the best way possible. We were given water and a massage punch card upon exit. Service from the phone to exit was very pleasant and welcoming! On February 6, 2021, my sister planned for she and I get massages.  She decided on King Spa located at 6803 Preston Road, Frisco, Tx.  and proceeded to look at reviews of their services.  Most of the reviews were positive and they also suggested purchasing a coupon from the Groupon website which would give us 70-minute massage for the price of a 60-minute massage.  My sister purchased the coupons and made our appointments. Upon arriving at King Spa, we were greeted by a man who identified himself as the manager and he proceeded with confirming the services that my sister booked.  My sister then advised the manager that she had purchased a Groupon prior to our visit.  At this point, the manager's entire disposition changed.  He went from being halfway professional to a fast-talking shifty salesman.  We couldn't get a word in edgewise. At one point, just to get him to stop talking (as if we could understand anything he was saying anyway), my sister had to raise her voice, ask him to stop talking and advised him that she did not appreciate all the double fast talking that he was doing when she mentioned her Groupon. My sister and I both began asking questions so that we could better understand why he had such an issue with the Groupon.  The manager advised my sister that she did not mention she had purchased a Groupon when she made her appointment.  I then asked the manager if he asked my sister if she had a Groupon and he stated that he did not.  I then asked him how he could attempt to correct us on something that he also failed to do himself.  I also pointed out that there were no instructions on the Groupon stating that pre-purchase needed to be mentioned when booking the appointment. The manager then stated that there is a different staff that performs the Groupon offered services that is separate from main staff and there was no one there to perform the services we requested. During this initial interaction with the manager, he had taken at least 3 phone calls booking the same service that my sister and I booked for that same day.  I pointed this out to the manager as well as advised him that seeing that he was currently having an issue with us regarding our services booked, he neglected to ask the 3 potential customers if they had a Groupon and neither did the potential customers mentioned it. Regarding the special staff that service customers who purchased a Groupon, my sister questioned the manager about not having anyone on staff that could perform an additional 10-minute massage.  I then pointed out to the manager that the Groupon also did not mention that this service was only performed on certain days or times or could only be used on certain days. Completely frustrated, my sister was willing to give in.  She advised the manager that she would be willing to forego the additional 10-minute massage that the Groupon offered just so that we could get our massages.  The manager all but refused.  He advised that he would be willing to price match my sister's Groupon and perform the services that we booked on Groupon if my sister cancelled it and paid him the exact same amount in cash at the spa. I immediately stepped into the conversation and asked him why would we pay for the same services twice, especially when already prepaid for the services on Groupon?  I then reminded him that he had just told us that he did not have any staff available to perform the Groupon purchased services.  I blatantly told him that he was intentionally refusing to provide the services that we had already paid for and would only service us if we paid him cash up front.  I then advised him that if my sister agreed to this, it could be days before she received her money back from Groupon. At this point, my sister was highly upset and accused the manager of running a scam and refusing to service us and advised him that she would be contacting the police...which she did.  The manager shouted back at my sister "CALL THEM. GO AHEAD." When he realized that my sister was indeed calling the police, the manager's disposition changed again.  He asked us to wait outside for the police.  He followed us out and again attempted to explain his position to me as my sister no longer wanted to talk to him.  He attempted to accuse us of not reading and fully understanding the wording on the Groupon regarding the terms of use.  I asked him to pull it up on the website and show me, knowing that I had already looked at the terms and conditions of use.  While standing outside waiting on the police and for the manager to find the "wording" that we overlooked or misunderstood, the manager kept receiving phone calls from customers wanting to book services for that day and he accommodate them without hesitation.  I also made him aware of this as it was further adding injury to the insult that we had received. I don't like this location. I have always gone to the Denton location and it is absolutely the best experience. I have always tipped well. This experience wasn't great. They rushed through the massage and the technique wasn't the same. I will go back to the Denton location. I left what I thought was a pretty good tip and they suggested more and basically forced us to tip more. I tipped based on the experience!!! But they asked for me and almost argued with us. Horrible. Beware of sexual predetors! I'd give this place negative rating if possible. This place needs to be shut down right away.. One of my close friend went for a massage here and got sexually harassed by one of the masseuse. She was in such a shock that she froze and couldn't do anything about it right away. But she lodged a police complain later and is waiting for the police to take action. I don't believe they vet their masseuses at all. Well upon arrival no one spoke to us, a lady thn came and asked what we wanted. I was being treated by a family member When we paid, that were peaking in what I presume to be their native tongue, but in regards to us. We had to assume what they were saying. I also had to ask the name of the person doing the massage. They also used Vaseline. It was a rush experience, no communication, I was not familiar with their techniques and no one explained what they were doing beforehand. I'm passing through Texas for work and found King Spa on Groupon. Ended up getting a 60 minute full body massage after calling them instead of the Groupon packages and it was amazing. They pay attention to detail and ask to make sure they meet your preferences on pressure and any trouble spots you want them to work on. Would definitely stop by again next time I'm in town. FYI I love deep tissue/pressure point massages. They make sure to start out slow and warm up your muscles - just let them know what you want and they'll cater to you. Tip: Before buying in Groupon, just give them a call and they will match the pricing + they threw in hot stone massage. It works better for everyone and takes out the middleman. read more

I went to the spa today using a coupon toward a 30-minute back massage and 30 minute foot I walked in the clinic at 12:52 according to my phone we walked back to the room 1255 she started 1:00 p.m. when my appointment started at 1:15 she said okay finish feet now turn over for back I spoke to another person trying to relay the fact that she only did 15 minutes not 30 when I spoke to the manager he tried to tell me that it was 30 minutes that was used when I'm in the building looking at the clock he's at another location going off text messages which makes no sense your time should not start from when you walk into the building it should start from when you're actually in the room and getting your massage communication was horrible no one was willing to listen to me I was willing to pay if I got the service I paid for since my time was cut short it was a big miscommunication and a bit of a nightmare the manager had the nerve to send me a text calling me white trash and cheap which is completely way over the line and not called for if I had simply received my full services I would have paid for all of it but if you're not going to give me the service I came in for I'm not going to pay to be shorted on time so I gave them the option to finish the time or not charge me for the full amount they were not willing to fix it either way I personally will not be going back here the ladies were nice the massage was pretty good but the management poor racist rude completely uncalled for. read more

They switched massage therapists mid-way through my massage (from female to male) because the female masseurs had another appointment. I didn't think it was a big deal; they were both equally as good. They offered me water on the way out; I thought that was a kind gesture. I went in for the Signature Facial and let me tell you, it was AMAZING. Best facial I've ever received and the location is very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed table that you lay on was like a cloud! The lady who did my facial(I did not get her name) was so great, she was very professional and gentle. Don't waste your money on facials. I don't know what the massages are like but the facials are not good. I received one and felt like it was just soap being massaged on my face. And didn't perform full services on my face and stated I would need to upgrade for the whole face. The lady doing my facial had water in a bucket. The atmosphere was dark and kind of creepy. The guy at the front desk asked for payment instead of the Groupon and charged for services ahead of Time and gave me a receipt without allowing me to sign until after then requested to add a tip. There is anything wrong with tipping but to request it seems a bit rude and tacky. Then when requesting it's like 3 people surrounding you looking at you when he asks. AVOID!!!!!I purchased a groupon for a 70 minute massage for this establishment (which I should have known was to good to be true) The fine print said that only one purchase per person with the exception of one extra for a gift so I purchased another for my husband. I called to make the appointments and a RUDELY informed that I would have to buy one massage because they only allow one groupon usage at a time. As I was explaining the verbiage from the groupon, the man continually cut me off and eventually our appointments we're set. When we arrive, I and my husband we're told to take a seat while he made a call. After he hangs ups he hands my husband a business card and informs him that he needs to calls his manager. When my husband calls the number from the card (469)465-8671 he explains that he was instructed to call him. The man tells him that he would have to pay and use a groupon on another visit. My husband calmly explains that his groupon was a gift which the fine print clearly allows for. The man the yells that they have other appointments, either he'd have to pay or cancel the appointment so the people that are going to pay can come in. My husband sarcastically asks him,"Is this how you handle your customer service?" To which he answered, "Whatever!" Upon arrival, I decided against the service that was on groupon and went for a full body massage. I was pleasantly surprised with the massage I received The only issue is that I could tell my masseuse didn't speak English very well. This was an issue because I told him to focus on my lower back and I could tell he didn't understand. I had to show him, which is fine, but he still didn't focus on it like I wanted. If you're looking for a therapeutic massage or have back problems- stay away! I found them on Groupon. Called before I bought it and was told to just come in- they'd match the price. I was told it was a 75 min massage, super excited because it was my bday present to myself. When I got there, I noticed right away this wasn't the typical place I was used to but they had GREAT reviews. I talked with the 'clerk' and found out the 75 min massage I was there for was actually a 30 minute foot massage and 30 mins on the back. Well, okay. I go back, the place was small but nice. The 'clerk' asks me if I have any issues, surgeries, or problem areas. I let him know where I needed the most focus and my issues. So I lay down face up and asked to put my feet in a tub of water on the floor and this becomes super painful after a very short time. 'Massage' person starts on my face, not bad, actually pretty relaxing, until he smashes hard on my temples. By the way, my face is still sore in the places he pushed and we are SIX days out. He moved on to my feet, pretty okay there. I'd compare it to a foot rub at a nail salon. I realize it's not at all what I thought it was going to be on the leg massage- mostly just squeezing and mashing, and chopping. After that it was time for the back, at this point I'm still hopeful. But then he comes in with elbows, no warming up the muscles, no knowledge of what he's even doing. There were times I'm pretty sure he was mashing down on my spine and bones in my shoulders. He rubbed something on the outside of my shoulder blades that made my hands go numb. He didn't even know what he was doing around my neck and shoved his elbow in the base of my skull. Many many many times I told him it was too much pressure, he was on a bone, and usually I ask for hard pressure on a deep tissue. He'd ease up a little and go right back to pushing too hard. When he got to my lower back it was a mess. Lots of pushing on bones, chopping, shaking. I couldn't even relax during the whole ordeal I was so scared he was going to hurt my hips. Really thinking back, I should have stopped him and got my money back but I tried to stay hopeful. It's day 6 and I'm still in pain through my shoulders, neck and lower back. My face still hurts, my hands are still not right- hopefully my chiropractor can help me when I go back next week. Just don't do it- there are plenty of excellent, trained massage therapists in our area that won't leave you hurting. I wish I'd stuck with my fave but she was booked on my bday and I didn't have the patience to wait. read more

I was excited that a new Asian massage place opened in Frisco so I decided to give it a try because the one I go most of the time is more far away from my house. The appointment procedure is normal and quick. I got the pomotion deal $38 for a combo one hour massage. The massage person started to give head massage while both my feet were in warm water, then she moved on to my feet. I felt she was just rubbing and shaking when she massaged my left foot so I had to ask her to push harder when she massaged my right foot. However I still felt she was just rubbing it not getting any acupoint. After she done with my feet she left and came back with warm almost hot towel and put straight on my legs without asking me how's the temperature. Next she asked me to turned over and told me to take off my shirt (yes, you heard it she asked me to take off my shirt in front of her and laid face down with my half naked body!) I was feeling a little uncomfortable because most place would have you changed before the massage person came in. She massage my back with her elbows and I could feel she did not do it right because several times she rubbed over my spines with her elbow and it hurts not sore. Few minutes later I heard she was leaving outside the door while I still laying there with my half naked body (she didn't even cover me with towel) I felt very uncomfortable as I was afraid what if someone walked passed by the door when she opened the door. Then she came back in with warm almost hot towel again and put straight on top of my back. The whole process was just getting on my nerves. I walked out of the room not feeling relaxed at all. I have been going here since this place opened in Frisco. I have been probably 40-50 times. I have referred numerous people...overall I have always gotten a great massage for the price. And the customer service was always great in the past. NOW, I was not only not super happy with massage but that is OK is happens...But I was told that the tip I left was not enough. I left 20% percent after hearing from the lady that the amount was not enough for the therapist. A Groupon was given to me as a gift for this location. My husband and I went in and the did the couples 70 min jelly bath - which is 35 min foot massage and 35 min back massage. The foot massage was out of this World! It was amazing. I had a gentleman and my husband had a lady. We were in the same room which I loved because not ever being there, it was nice. He said when did I purchase it. I said just now. He said no problem. When I walk in, place seemed quiet. The guy greeted me and told him I'm here for my appt. He goes , ok no problem and than goes if you can refund the Groupon and I will honor the same deal in the store with free oil or stone. He goes Groupon charges me a fee and for new business it's hard. I go than why you have it with Groupon? Take it off from there? He said something I didn't understand. He was nice and helped me get a refund from Groupon but as a I customer I didn't like the hassle behind it. I came for a nice relax massage and not to try to figured out how to refund it. I had to rest my password so kinda got frustrated. After he upsale me into a different package 35 min foot and 35 min back massage. I said ok no problem. I do this with every spa I go to. I secretly time them to see if it's correct. We started at 11:08am (because we were figuring out how to refund and reset my Groupon password )and the foot massage lasted until 11:50am. The back massage started from 11:51am until 12:18pm. At that point I just wanted to leave that place. The lady was nice but didn't speak a lot of English. I told them no knuckles to the guy based on the review I read and medium soft pressure so he told the lady. After I paid the guy and lady greeted me with water. It was warm lol. I was tipping the lady based on my experiences he said something in his language to her and they start laughing. So it was rude and I didn't like that either. I felt like I was a joke to them at that point. Overall it was ok but with all the Groupon hassle behind it I wouldn't go back to them. I'm foreign too so you get that a lot at foreign place but as from customer services point of view I didn't like it and it's not right to Groupon . AVOID! There are many, many accommodating and welcoming spas that would like to have your business & money. I agree with prior reviewers about the Groupon argument upon checking in. They told me they had no one avail bc they were so busy. During my visit, I was the only customer in the place. No other customers on a busy holiday weekend. You could hear lots of disruptive chatter through the walls from the non-working employees. I asked that the lights be dimmed in the room. Therapist said no, and put a towel over my face making it hard to breathe.the massage technique was very poor or possible never trained at all. This was like grab and pinch, and then rub on the cover towel, which was very little benefit to have the towel get all the work. Nothing smooth or relaxing. Never once did he ask about pressure or if I was comfortable. Believe the workers were generally sleeping inside their cars in the parking lot, and they come inside if you look like you are going to spend some cash $, the Groupon was eventually accepted, but then I was asked to pay more for upgrades like hot stones. The Groupon was for 70 mins. The massage only was 60 mins. More like 45-50 if you deduct the time he left the room (at least three). Would def not return to what felt like a subpar place. read more

I'd rate the massage a 4 but the business itself a 1. I paid twice as much as I should have when I went in. What was going to cost me $50 plus tips for the masseuses cost me over $100 for both my husband and I. I was going to buy a groupon because I had a discount but I called ahead to make an appointment first just to make sure they had available appointments since it was nearing Valentine's Day. I mentioned I was going to buy the deal off of groupon but they insisted that I pay in store instead. I let them know that I had a 50% off coupon with groupon and they said to just take a picture of what the price would be and they would honor it. I know businesses get less money when people buy from groupon so I agreed that I would do this. I showed the receptionist my screen shot when I got there and she said ok and took both of us back to the room. After the massage when I went to pay she said she couldn't charge me with the discount. I spent over 10 minutes trying to tell her that the person told me over the phone that they would honor it when I made the appointment and that when I showed her the photo before we got the service she didn't mention anything. I told her I was frustrated because she waited till after the service to say she couldn't honor it and if I would've known that I would've left. She also refused to call the owner. I kept trying to negotiate and have her at least charge me for a cheaper service to get close to what I would've paid and she said she couldn't. She said that she would've had to pay the masseuses from her own pocket and that she didn't want to do that. She told me she would have the owner call me this past Friday and would also make a note to remind him to call and I still haven't heard anything and it's been over a week. Yesterday, the service was good but the manager Ben was extremely rude. Out of 5 stars I give them "-1" in customer service and therefore, will NEVER return. At check out, I did not have but an extra $3 dollars to tip and Ben had the audacity to tell me, "But we work hard for you." I was on an extremely limited budget; however, the service was good enough for me to return at which time, I would have been able to give more. I knew it must have been something because he charged my card in the beginning but told me I would sign after the services. Why???? He was counting on the big tip! Today, I called Ben to tell him how he offended me and he just did not get it. He said he was just suggesting. I told him if the service was that great, you would not have to suggest and those who could tip more would. He called me cheap, told me it was common sense to tip and said I should not be in this country because I don't understand the culture. And then he showed me exactly what he thought of me....and hung up on me!!!
