Living in the heart of downtown Burlington I've got a selection of Laundromats from which to choose and I've tried them all. But there is one that far exceeds all the others in terms of services quality atmosphere friendliness of owner and even unexpected extras, and that's King Street Laundry located at 72 King Street. Although closed down for a few months early last year the reopening was worth waiting for. The machines are excellent and can be paid for using a cell phone app called pay range, the space is exceptional interms of cleanliness and if you're lucky enough to visit when the current owner is on site, you'll be amazed at how genuine and nice this guy is. He really cares about the people who use his facility as evidenced by the displays of local artwork on the walls, regular group meetings providing guidance on finding work and even writing workshops! King Street Laundry is more than just a place to wash your clothes; rather, it's quickly becoming the heart and soul of downtown Burlington in more ways than one!! read more

This place is pretty terrible. I give it two stars rather than one just because of how convenient it was for us. It was a stones throw away from our apartment. However, the place was always filthy and the change machine was out of order more than it was working. Which is a huge inconvenience since we never had quarters! It costs $2.50 per wash and 25 cents for five minutes of drying. So it's average price for a laundromat. Since they were under new management if you lose money due to the machines breaking you have nobody to contact... which is very unprofessional. The machines get your clothes covered in lint and usually the washers smell musty. They often have at least 2-3 machines out of order and on a busy day it basically means you're out of luck. Only come here if it's close to home. The floors are gross and the machines are disgusting! Not a pleasant place to be. read more

This place was a stalwart of the community for over three decades. From what I could see, the owners tried hard to maintain a decent place over the years, in spite of the neighborhood. I would always go here to wash larger things like blankets and comforters because they had the convenient double washers. But when I walked there today (12/18/21), there was sign on the door: "CLOSED INDEFINITELY. TOO MUCH THEFT AND VANDALISM." What a shame. Thanks a lot to the clueless "defund-the-police" crowd and Sarah George for your hands-off approach to crime. Now I will have to take my laundry on the bus to go to Shelburne Rd. read more

Machines regularly break down, are expensive and the attendant swears and screams at customers--He called me an 'Aids faggot' when I asked for help with a broken machine, the owner never answered any of my calls. The place is a dump, so bad that most of the block carts their laundry elsewhere so they don't have to deal with the headache of paying 10+ bucks for wet, soapy laundry that needs to be re-washed. I wouldn't be so pissed if this hadn't happened multiple times to everyone i know who's gone here. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! read more

This place is dirty, regularly steals your money with broken machines and has no attendant on site to help with broken machines. I would estimate that 50% of washers and dryers are always out of order at one time. The only reason people go is because it's close by the neighborhood. Cash only. $2.50 for a small wash load, 25 cents for 5 minutes of drying. Avoid if possible. read more
