He sent me an appointment and I accepted it and I said, "See you then". I didn't see that afterwards he asked for my address which I thought we had already discussed because he wanted to know if it was within his work area. We had an appointment for Monday morning between 9:30 and 10:30. Come Monday - no show, no text, nothing. Finally at 10:15 I go on Yelp to see what's going on and see his questions, so I quickly answered them and asked if he could still make it and he said no - he already made his schedule and since I never answered the questions - he didn't include me in it. He had sent me an appointment request and I accepted - which automatically put it on my calendar and I believe his. If I didn't answer his question right away, he had two days, why didn't he re-ask the question so Yelp would send me another notice before he did his schedule? (Especially since during our back and forth about the project he didn't answer me for a day and I had to do that to him to get him to respond!) So on Monday he said he might fit me in sometime during the week but probably not before Friday, I was upset, but said, OK, please let me know when you could fit me in. He said he would. That was two weeks ago - no call, no yelp reach out, nothing. When I searched back in the reviews before I wrote this review, I found that Nick had done this to someone else to - almost exactly the same thing. I expected him to show up - late - look over the problem -quickly- and give us an estimate - way higher that we expected. NOPE! He showed up earlier than he thought he might, took quite a while looking over the problem and even other parts of the job that we couldn't see and after giving us a reasonable price actually worked on the job we'd asked for AND fixed a few other things that would have been a problem soon. He was polite, fast, and did a great job. I called him about this job at 6:30 on a Monday night. No after-hours upcharge. No holding us hostage because he knew we needed this fixed quickly. After receiving roof damage during a storm, the damage was swiftly assessed, the insurance company was contacted and the insurance paperwork was promptly processed, materials were ordered and delivered, the dumpster was ordered and delivered, and the permit was secured. The crew showed up early in the morning and worked all day until the job was finished...around 7:00p.m. It was a very long day for the crew but when they left, the roof was beautiful and not a scrap or nail was left behind. Premier took over and literally did everything for me. My part? I made a phone call to Premier Roofing and Renovations, selected the shingles and then the color. This is the company...look no further. Easy, helpful, friendly, reasonable. Steve put a roof on my brother's house about 10 years ago, my father's house about 7 years ago, and now my own house. I wound up breaking the igniter on my gas furnace. Lol. We had Ciamillo out before so I called them. They had someone here in less than an hour. Mason was our service technician. He thoroughly checked out the furnace which is over 20 years old. He was unable to light the furnace manually and eventually determined the gas valve was not functioning (in addition to the broken igniter) and showed me how he knew that. He left for 45 minutes to get the parts, came back and we had heat before noon. So, basically it was prompt services, Mason was very competent, informative and friendly, and I was very satisfied with Ciamillo. The price was more than I anticipated, but I don't really know what the average rate would be for the repairs that were done. Apparently the price of parts has shot up dramatically this year like everything else, so I believe the price was fair.

We had another pricey quote for lower-end equipment than Ciamillo offered. Another company said we'd have to wait because they were busy. Ciamillo gave us a very reasonable quote without the need to haggle, and were done in a couple of days. They told us A/C would have to be turned ON the next summer, and they showed up and did it when the time came. They also registered all our warranties for us without us even asking about it, which was very professional and caring of them. If we stayed in the area, we'd have them do all HVAC work in the future. They're an honest business in their industry. Highly recommended!

After professional cleanup, the headache of dealing with an insurance adjuster, and the due diligence of meeting with multiple contractors to get bids on putting the basement back together, we went with Rentz Remodeling and Contracting. And wow. The difference between someone like Matt Rentz and other contractors we've dealt with has been night and day. A selfish part of me wants to keep this knowledge to myself, in case we need him again, but he's too good NOT to share. First of all, his bid was extremely fair. Since we were dealing with repairs and not an elective home remodel, we didn't have a ton of money set aside. Just what was left of insurance after a not-great cleanup crew charged us through the nose. Matt detailed out everything he would do to fix the basement, with line items for both labor and cost of materials. There was no guessing or having to ask for more detail; he came prepared with paperwork and was always extremely open about what everything cost. Secondly, he and his crew were incredibly polite and professional. In a pandemic, having new people in your house is always a little anxiety-provoking. The first thing they did when they arrived is put up a plastic zip door between the basement stairs and the rest of the house. And they never came through it into the main house. We worked out a system where he would text if he needed to ask any questions, which meant I could go anywhere in the house without worrying that I couldn't hear them if they needed anything. But for the most part, they came and went according to the needs of the work, and I didn't have to do much of anything at all. Thirdly, Matt and his crew are not just great contractors, but good guys. We had a problem with the hose discharge line for our sump pump freezing over during a cold snap, so my husband had temporarily removed it. Matt noticed and pointed out that he'd seen excess water leak through basement walls before, and texted with me about potential solutions we could try ourselves to keep it functional through the winter. Not an upsell--but just because he had knowledge he thought we could use. I'd recommend Rentz Remodeling and Contracting to anyone. (I've already given his name to a few friends.) And the next time we need anything done around the house, these guys are at the top of my list. A++, 10/10.
