Nothing special. Cashew nut chicken was bland. The broccoli was hard and mostly stems so I didn't eat much of it. The pork fried rice was a lot of browned rice with about a teaspoon of diced ham and nothing else - no egg or peas or anything you might expect. The parking lot is kinda sketchy, too. The servers are nice but there's nothing much to say about the ambiance other than you can always see them vacuuming after patrons have left the table. Quality food prepared to Midwestern tastes, not Chinese. Tuesday lunch, not busy. Ordered from lunch menu (see photos). Had Chow Mein with Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Orange Chicken and Pork Fried Rice. Both chicken dishes were based on the plain Mar Far Chicken, good flavor, tenderness, and amount of breading. Sauces were fine, a bit too sweet. Orange Chicken was not at all spicy, when most have some spiciness. Sweet and Sour had no sourness, and no pineapple, bell pepper, or onion. Chow Mein had good amount of vegetables. Rice was not greasy, but should have had more vegetables. read more

Great Chinese food. We stop here every time we go through Klamath falls. The family dinners are amazing!

Passed through Klamath Falls for the night and this place was highly recommended by a clerk at a nearby hotel my wife and I stayed at. The place is clean and decent with an adjacent bar. The people and workers there were super friendly and patient while figuring out our to-go order. I decided on a plate of Broccoli Beef and the House Lo Mein. Took about 15 mins and it was cooked to order. By the time I got back to the room, the food was still super hot. As for the food itself....wow, unfortunately, a lot is left to be desired here. It's mainly the flavor that has left a bad taste (accurately, no taste) in our mouths. The Broccoli Beef practically had zero flavor. It was to the point that it was almost inedible. We tried using a packet of soy sauce to try to enhance the food but still the same result....abysmal. The texture seemed to be fine. The beef was thin, slightly chewy, and the broccoli and carrots cooked with a crunch still in play. The House Lo Mein dish (my choice) was even more strange, oddly enough. Typically, a dish like this is savory. However, here, it also had a sweetness to it that I have never experienced before. It was really weird. I'm not sure if whoever they have cooking these dishes are just "winging it" or just lacking the proper spices needed to make these dishes correctly and/or poorly subbing them with others. All I can honestly say is NONE of the spices used meshed well with the food. My tastebuds were having a full on brawl trying to reject whatever ingredients used to flavor my food. I did manage to eat all the meat inside the dish so that it wasn't a complete waste of money. It was a chore-ish activity. The price range here is over the top. I believe the average dish price is around $16-17 per. A little bit less if choosing the combo plate option. Granted, the portion sizes on these dishes are absolutely astronomical. Easily feed 2 people per but....really, what's the point if the food isn't even remotely palatable? Exactly. With tip, we paid a little over $40 for two dishes. I don't mind paying for whatever as long as it meets all the requirements one would expect. It's not all about quantity. Personally, I wouldn't recommend any of the dishes I've ordered here. This is not to say that their other options are equally as suspect because some restaurants tend to prepare certain dishes than others and these weren't one of them. However, this was a flavoring issue for me which perhaps may pertain to the majority of their menu. You may want to stick to the more basic that are on the deep-fried side (i.e. Sweet & Sour, appetizer, etc) to play it safe. Friendly reminder, if you are just going through town for the night and getting take-out, double check your bag and make sure you have plasticware to eat with. I had to double back to get ours. 2.5 stars from me. Good luck and stay safe! read more

We were a little nervous based on the dated decor, but the menu looked good, so we gave King Wah a chance. Interior was clean and service was great. We were seated quickly and orders were taken. Menu is classic American Chinese Food, but it was reasonably priced and tasted great! Serving size was extremely generous with fresh ingredients and lots of flavor. The Combo Platters are huge with enough food to share for 2 meals. But, if you're really hungry, go for it! Although not high end Chinese, King Wah is certainly not Panda Express. I have never done a less than wonderful review for this restaurant but now I will. I ordered a very large to go order for a large family gathering. One thing I ordered was the Szechuan shrimp chow mein. It was supposed to be stir fried mixed veggies, shrimp and crispy noodles. The order had nothing but bean sprouts for the veggies, and had no noodles at all. It did have some shrimp. But..this was such a disappointment. The mu shu pork was tasty but the pancakes were uncooked egg roll noodles that dissolved instantly when I tried to put filling in them. Other things in this large order were fine, but I ordered these two things specifically for me. What a disappointment Makes me rethink ordering again. We shall see read more

We decided to try King Wah restaurant yesterday, and were very disappointed. Most of the food looked good, but tastes were way off. We ordered the "B" dinner, for two people. It was supposed to come with eggrolls. However, they only gave us ONE eggroll, cut in half. The eggroll was supposed to be a shrimp eggroll, but filling was dense and gray, with wilted gray cabbage that had black edges to it, as if it was spoiled. It had no taste at all, other than a stale taste like it had been made long ago and reheated. No idea what was in the dense dry filling The dipping sauce was way too sweet - we had to add about a tablespoon of soy sauce to make it even edible. The bean sprouts in the chow mein were gray, and entire dish tasted like the mung bean sprouts alone. The pork fried rice was flavorless and way too salty. The BBQ pork was tough, and dry. Not what I expected. It was more like sliced overcooked pork chop. We have lots of leftovers, but only because the food was not good. ZERO stars!! We will NOT be back. Health department should go check their fridges after looking inside that disgusting eggroll! read more

Standard Chinese fare with limited vegan and gluten-free options. WARNING: THIS RESTAURANT USES MSG. The staff informed me that the stir-fry dishes contain MSG for sure, but you can request that your order is MSG-free. The veggie section of the menu is fair, there are some legit dishes for non-meat eaters. But to make any of them truly gluten-free (even the rice noodle dishes) could be a challenge. Traditional soy sauce is used pervasively. The lounge is a divey good time. I was surprised to find it so well kept. The staff needs to be better trained on and more mindful of alternative dietary needs. When I introduce myself as someone who cannot have meat, dairy, egg, or gluten, a server should not recommend the fried won tons. I would like to see this restaurant eliminate MSG from their kitchen. MSG is terrible for humans; it is linked with headaches, allergic reactions, and obesity. I would also like to see King Wah offer at least one vegetarian appetizer, and gluten-free Tamari as an option to replace soy sauce for gluten-free diners. I think this spot could be a 5 star eatery if they updated their food to make it healthier and more accessible to modern, health-conscious customers. read more

In the past, they've been very stingy with the sauces (soy, duck, mustard, etc.), and I have been charged extra when wanting a reasonable quantity (ie. more than one tub of mustard for my mar far chicken, or enough soy sauce to adequately season a dish). I wouldn't say to avoid this place, but don't go with high expectations, and if you want an adequate amount of soy sauce or mustard, bring your own. read more

Disappointed to be told that they were closing and couldn't seat us. We decided to grab a take out anyway. Ordered some familiar dishes, Lo Mein, Mongolian ets. Got some advice from the staff. Food came out in 10 minutes or so, piping hot, and very tasty. The portion sizes are very big...would have been nice to know that when we were ordering. The prices are on the high side at 16-17 per dish, and we were annoyed at not being able to sit down, but at the end of the day the food was good and that is all we needed.
