There were 7 of us and all of our dishes were not good at all. The pad Thai was noodles smothered in a thick gravy-looking peanut sauce. The noodles in the wide noodle dish were hard. The food is Absolutely amazing it's always fresh. And fast . But unfortunately the service is not good. They give you large portions. We were able to share and go home with leftovers. We got the crab rangoons $9, egg rolls $6, Spice basil fried rice $15, and Chicken pad Thai $15 and everything was spot on. The crab rangoons were packed with filling. The pad thai wasn't fry like others we've had, neither was the rice. We enjoyed our dinner at 9 Thai. My husband ordered and liked the shrimp fried rice. He had enough to have it for breakfast the next day. I ordered the duck and wanted vegetables. I was told the duck only come with garnish vegetables so we ordered a side of veggies. We had lots of veggies. The duck with honey sauce was nice. read more

Holy smokes! We were planning on going somewhere else for dinner but a friend found out we were staying in the area for the night so she insisted we tried here. So good. We started out with the veggie rolls. That was refreshing and the peanut sauce was perfectly creamy. The flavor profile for the sauce was exactly how I love it. I think they make the rolls at the start of the night and refrigerate them so the wrapper was really cold. The wrapper they use was thicker than I'm used to for spring rolls. It wasn't bad it was just interesting. Dinner knocked it out of the park. We ordered the crispy salmon pumpkin curry, lemongrass chicken pad thai, and the spicy basil fried rice with basil. The lemongrass chicken pad thai was a basic pad thai dish but they add lemon grass chicken on top and then top it with peanut sauce. It was quite a bit of peanut sauce so if its not your thing I would ask for it on the side. We love peanut sauce so this was delish. Crispy salmon pumpkin curry was my favorite of the 3 dishes we ordered. There was a decent amount of salmon. It was lightly breaded and fried. It was cooked nicely and was in fact really crispy on the outside with moist salmon on the inside kind of like a salmon fish and chip. This was in a dish of bell peppers, onions, broccoli, basil, and pumpkin (which is probably actually kabocha squash). The pumpkin was so soft it would break into the sauce and would coat the rice nicely. I was given the option to choose white or brown rice with this dish, which I thought was a nice to offer. Spicy basil fried rice with pork. This dish is a typical fried rice dish with onion, egg, bell peppers, and larger chunks of pork. The basil flavor was light but present. We ate so much, we didn't have room for dessert and I'm super bummed about this. If you are in the area, highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

Unexpectedly great Thai food in a small town! My wife and I stopped in here the other night for dinner and were blown away with the great food! I had the Honey Duck, one of the most expensive dishes on the menu, but worth every penny. The skin was very crispy, the duck meat perfectly cooked and the portion was large. I ate every last crumb, and it was more than enough to fill me up. My wife was craving veggies so she ordered the Pad eggplant. She said it was one of the best Thai meals she had in a long time. The server did not ask us for spice levels, and the food came without a lot of heat to it so we asked for a Chile tray (pictured) which was perfect - we got everything to just the right spice levels for us. Our server was very cordial - he even introduced his young daughter to us who was also working there! Next time we are passing through Klamath Falls we know where we are going for a meal!! read more

Really excellent portions, but unfortunately, the quality just falls short. If you're looking for cheap, plentiful, and filling this is a good place for you. When the place first opened up it was AMAZING! We went for late lunch early dinner 7-15-2023 and the food was bland. Chicken pad Thai hardly had any chicken. I ordered the Friday daily special that was spicy spinach(?) and there maybe 4 spinach leaves and few pieces of chicken but was mainly rice. There was also zero spice of any sort. I loved this place but it seems their food has down graded. It could be the cost of ingredients that made it expensive for them to give too service, I don't know but you can see that the staff are very tired. This isn't the least authentic Thai food I've had, but it's pretty darn close. I mean, the flavor of the red curry was good, but the ingredients were the cheapest possible -- bamboo shoots, bell pepper, and LOADS of carrots -- none of which are used in traditional Thai curries. The fresh rolls were stuffed full of store-bought shredded lettuce; again, nothing you'd find in a Thai restaurant anywhere else on earth. It's like the owner is cutting corners on the most fundamental aspect of a restaurant. Or perhaps he believes Oregonians don't expect anything better. Given the choice of this place or Thai Orchid, I would choose Thai Orchid. That being said, this place isn't bad. It's easy to make any dish vegetarian/vegan, and there is no fish sauce in the curry unless you request it. Thai iced tea can be made with coconut milk instead of half and half. Refills are free. No booze available. HUGE bummer. The egg rolls are mushy inside and lack pepper or pizzazz. They seem less than fresh, but they are edible. (Not gluten-free.) The salad rolls are gluten-free and rather basic. Iceberg lettuce and carrots with flavorless tofu in rice paper. Again, not bad but not great. The peanut sauce was served warm and tasted flat. It needs something to give it nuance and kick. The pineapple fried rice was quite yummy. I ordered it without egg to make it vegan. I would order this again. I like the cashews and raisins in it especially. The yellow curry was kinda brownish-yellow and tasted more like an Indian curry than a Thai one. The sweetness I expected wasn't there, but it was still good. The noodle curry (rice noodles, veggies, red curry) was terrible. This might just be a tastebud thing for me. I hate lemongrass, and it tasted like the curry was made with lemongrass. When I asked a server whether this was the case, he looked at me like I was a total a$$hole. Rude. But he still double checked and assured me there was no lemongrass in the dish. The serving sizes are large and the prices are fair. If I'm in the mood for pineapple fried rice and unlimited Thai iced tea I'll check this place out again, but I'll likely be at Thai Orchid for the most part. read more

What A Gem! My daughter and I were on a road trip and couldn't decide what to have for dinner. We had chosen a different place for dinner and decided to get the car washed. During the wash we asked of her recommended a place for dinner and he said he really liked the food and service at 9 Thai. So change of plans and gps ;) The Thai tea was on point! We ordered the pineapple rice with a little reservation, and simply WOW! Still dreaming about that one. We ordered takeout for dinner and it was pretty fast via their own online ordering system (although it doesn't notify you when it's ready). We headed over to the place around 15min after we ordered and the food was ready. Most of their staff were wearing masks and face shields. The food portion is HUGE - we order two dishes and either one would have been more than enough for two people. The Pad Kee-Mao was on point, but I felt the Pad King could be more flavorful. They comply with covid precautions...hand sanitizers when you enter and use of masks till you're ready to eat. They allow indoor dining which is great at this heat (double digit temps)! Avoid this place. While the food isn't bad, when you order online the website pretty much forces you to apply a tip. Upon showing up to pick up my food, they had printed out a receipt and circled and underlined the tip option. I don't tip for to go orders, I tip waiters and waitresses for service. I politely put zero. The waiter took my receipt, very obviously looked at the tip and then proceeded to throw my to go order (which they had already placed in front of me at the counter) at me and walk away. absolutely the rudest experience I've ever had at a restaurant. read more

First time eating there and wasn't really satisfied. I went with a group of friends and ordered appetizers and dinner. We got the tempera, calamari, and the crab rangoon which were all very good. When it came to dinner on the other hand, they do not label their "spicy scale" appropriately. We ordered chicken and pork pad thai, peppered steak stir fry, the yellow curry and the crispy chicken fried rice. We all ordered spicy level 2 except for the pad thai's which were level 3. The level 2 food was by far spicier then the level 3s. The peppered steak stir fry was even spicer! It was probably around a 4-5. We also ordered thai teas, and I must say that they were not as good as I thought. Thai Orchid's are way better. As for the customer service, they let us take the peppered beef off of the tab which was great. But the servers as well as the manager (I assume he was the manager or one of them) were rude. We had to ask to have our water refilled. The manager on the other hand was VERY rude. My friend has asked for a container for her curry and they gave her a box... so she asked for a soup container and he rolled his eyes at her! We were blown away.. in a bad way. If I were anyone who wanted to eat here.... I'd look away and try Thai Orchid. They have the best Thai food. read more

I liked 9 Thai the first time that i went, but since then i have gone a few more times and my reviews have changed. I ordered a few of the buy one $25 gift certificate, get one free from the local radio station. I recently used it for the last time on my last and probably final time at 9 Thai. They offer 10% off if you do take out, but when i showed up to pick up my food, i was told that the discount didn't apply, but it had been applied before, because i had the Coupons that the restaurant signed up for in the first place. The manager was very rude, especially when he is the one that signed up to do these gift certificates through the radio station, and they are gift certificates not coupons. I would have had no problem with it, if the rule was consistent, but it was not. I ended up getting everything i ordered and did not have to pay more, but it was not a good experience. On a different occasion, i didn't get rice with my lunch meal, and had to go back and pay extra for it. It's safe to say i won't be back, because the food is not nearly as good as any of the other Thai places, and the manager has terrible customer service. read more
