    Cranberry-walnut Blondie

I want to live here. Taking up residence in a two-story historic house, King William Coffee House brought a much-needed coffee shop to an area saturated with brunch spots and bars. The original creaky hardwood floors are a delight to walk through, and there are multiple seating rooms, a couple you can tell used to be bedrooms. The upstairs is cut off to customers, one can only imagine what fun lies up there. I came a little early so they were short on pastries. One of the machines was also broken, so even though the barista wanted to recommend the Beauregard, he couldn't make it. He suggested the vanilla latte. I also ordered a cortado and a blondie (cranberry-walnut) courtesy of Scratch Kitchen. For the King William area, parking is the best. There are plenty of spots behind the building!! There's also a side and front entrance. While I waited for my cortado to cool, I ate about half the blondie and it was delicious. It was like a blondie had an identity crisis and wanted to live its best life as a scone. I loved it - but then again, you can never go wrong with Scratch Kitchen. The cortado was foamy and started off aggressively bitter, but by the last swig I was tasting some magic. A very interesting ride, how I ended up not caring for it at first but then enjoying it. The vanilla latte gave me pause. It kinda tasted like it had vanilla extract instead of vanilla syrup, but it was still pretty tasty nonetheless. I'm pretty stoked about this spot. It's got so much space, the outlets are at seat-level so you can work comfortably on your laptop, and the background noise is unobtrusive. A great little getaway spot that I look forward to visiting again.

Such a cute and atmospheric place! I wish they had longer hours during the week but I'm grateful they're open late on the weekends! This place is super popular as it was packed when I went to study. The baristas were very kind and the drink I got came out a little on the sweeter side so I ordered and extra shot, the barista offered to remake the drink but I just bought the extra shot since I feel like taste is definitely unique for everyone! Overall great place and I would come again. I wish they would open up more rooms in the house for more seating though.

SO excited this local spot has opened! We went during the soft launch so it was quiet but still quiet a few people throughout the sho already working and drinking their coffee. I love the outdoor seating option- though there are PLENTY of indoor options. Multiple rooms and 3 (that's right) 3 bathroom options! No waiting in lines here. The vibes fit perfectly for the king William neighborhood and will be excited to head back. Also, there is parking in the back

Delicious coffee, friendly staff, great vibes and plenty of seating! Can't wait to try more of their seasonal flavors!

Take a stroll to King William Coffeehouse, which is aesthetically beautiful. It looks like it'd smell like a fresh coat of paint. What a gorgeous experience just next to Friendly Spot downtown on S. Alamo. I had the Hot Pereida (hot apple cider infused with pear and ginger). It's a must try for any cider lover. I'd have this again and again and again. I hope it's not just part of their holiday menu.

Such a beautiful place. With terrible customer service and subpar drinks to match the lackluster personalities of the barista working. Easter Sunday was the last straw. The lady working seemed so annoyed with having to take our order. None of the usual how's your day? What can I get you? What kind of milk would you like with that? I've had this person make my drink before. I was hoping she had improved. Since she had been new a few weeks back. She had not. She makes our drinks. Walks right past us. Goes all the way around and sits them on the coffee counter. Doesn't call out our name and was completely content with not giving us our drinks. So we get up to get them. It wasn't particularly busy, so there really wasn't any excuse. The drinks were awful. Cooler than lukewarm. And just overall not good. I can no longer justify wasting my money here. So go at your own risk.

This is such a cute coffee shop! I love strolling around the King William's area and I'm glad I stopped by. The building itself is very homey and cozy. There's lots of seating and they have parking for customers. I ordered a matcha latte with lavender syrup. The staff were welcoming and kind. Definitely coming again!

beautiful local coffee shop! Kind staff, provided my dog with water. Food was great, you could tell it was cooked in batches not from a little package. Prices were good as well. Indoor/outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a coffee shop!:) great espresso and earl gray latte:)!

I had been on a long trek along the Riverwalk on a hot day and wanted to quench my thirst. It was mid-afternoon between normal meal times so it was quiet when I arrived. The drill is to order and pay at the counter, take a seat at one of the many tables (lots of indoor and outdoor seating), and - at least in my case - your order is brought to you. The friendly fellow who took my order also brought it to my table. Not being hungry, I just ordered an iced strawberry mocha latte. It was really tasty, like a chocolate-covered strawberry. I think that was one of their seasonal specials so not certain it's always on the menu. The little village this cute cafe is located in was fun to explore after I finished my drink. As far as coffee drinks - highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the cashier didn't seem very interested in suggesting alternative products or helping me find a comparable option. Overall, the experience didn't leave much of an impression. Between the average drinks, limited product availability, and lack of engagement from the staff, I don't see myself returning.

Formerly a house, the interior of this cafe has a serene feel inside with comfortable seating. There is also seating on the front porch and a huge backyard patio deck. You order at the counter, which is right when you walk in the front door. Your order is brought to your table, wherever you may be sitting. On my first visit I had a croque monsieur, a deli ham and melted cheese sandwich with béchamel sauce between toasted bread. It was delicious and was served with potato chips. I also got a hot vanilla latte, served in a mug, which was absolute perfection. One thing I liked was the absence of laptop campers. I only spotted one on both of my visits. People come here to quietly socialize or just take a break from life for a few minutes. My second visit was mainly to get another one of those fantastic vanilla lattes but I also chose a chocolate croissant from their pastry case. The croissant, served on a nice dish, was fresh, flakey, and full of chocolate. I sat, relaxed, and felt like things didn't get much better than this.

However, parking was difficult and not very convenient. The coffee was good and smooth, but nothing that really stood out. It was solid quality, just not something I'd go out of my way for. One thing that surprised me was the price. My latte was listed at $7, but with all the extra charges for add-ons it quickly became $9+, which felt a bit pricey even coming from Chicago where coffee can already be expensive. What really affected the rating for me was the service speed. It was probably the slowest coffee service I've experienced. I waited about 15 minutes for two lattes, and there was only one other person ahead of me. For a simple order, that felt like a long time. Overall, it's a nice café with a clean, spacious atmosphere and decent coffee, but the pricing and slow service make it somewhere I'd visit occasionally rather than regularly.
