Great little caffeine stop in the morning while we set about our day. Nice strong cappuccino in a perfect size cup. Love when a coffee shop smells so inviting . Service was great and my coffee came out steaming hot. Nice casual local spot with seating inside . Loved all the windows so you can watch people and the world go by. They have a full coffee and tea menu and offer pastries and other breakfast items. Located in a hotel but easy access for anyone not staying here too. Gave me the boost for the day.

Coffee Shop No. 508 Niche Coffee Co. San Antonio, TX June 10, 2025 From across the street, my first glance of Niche Coffee Company gave me the impression there was some rich history inside the building; so I had to look it up while waiting on my cortado. Turns out the cafe sits on the corner of The Riverwalk Plaza Hotel; once the garage to The Plaza Hotel. It was once boasted as the "finest hotel in the South" during the 1920's. The Plaza stood on an island in the San Antonio River up until 1926 when the water was channeled away in flood-control work. The building is not as lavish it was during its heyday golden era, but the bones are still there. Spanish heritage remains in the arches, carved stone and tile floors. I found the location to be captivatingly beautiful. Niche Coffee Co.and their friendly baristas now welcomes coffee lovers on the corner street level of The Riverwalk Plaza. The cafe is modern yet comfortable and cozy. I read a couple chapters of a book and sipped happily on my very well made cortado. It was bold in flavor and served at a perfect temperature so it was smooth and velvety just the way I like it. The shop uses coffee beans from Quantum Coffee Roasters, a local San Antonio roaster. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

This location is in the corner of the building in the Riverwalk Plaza hotel. It is small with only a few tables but is airy and open with lots of natural lighting. It was later in the afternoon so it wasn't busy. I ordered the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie latte, it is with oat milk. I like that the drink was designed around oat milk. It is tasty. I used to go to their food truck but this is the first time in this location. It is definitely a drink worth checking out.

Definitely consider this a hidden gem. I love that they were open early and the barista was very helpful and helping me pick a seasonal beverage for my sister!

This is a cozy coffee shop, staff were friendly. Too bad there was not a big selection in pastries and coffee took alittle long to be served We appreciate that they were open at 7am

Settled for iced latte after matcha was gone. Great milk alternatives, but that's all I could taste, there's better coffee places out there.

We were given menus to look at while we waited so by the time we got to the counter, we were ready to order. The baked goods aren't on the menu, so when we walked by the counter filled with croissants, kouign amann, bear claws, apple pie, cheese cakes, it was hard to choose what we wanted!! We ordered: the Alamo Burger: a 8 oz wagyu beef smash burger , served with a fried egg, caramelized onions, cheese on a crispy croissant bun. It was incredible and worth the 15-20 minute wait! Almond croissant - a monster sized, flaky croissant with a generous almond filling. Guy Fieri highlighted this croissant on his DD&D show. It's probably a million calories not worth it! Tequila strawberry tres leches croissant - a small, cream filled croissant with strawberries. This was our least favorite. My husband didn't like the filling, I didn't like the sogginess of the croissant. Coffee - really good brewed coffee with free refills. We plan to go back a few more times while we're in town!!

I chose this location because it was close to my hotel. The first thing that caught my eye was the pastry display. I had heard great things about their conchas, so I purchased a chocolate concha, a chocolate croissant, and a guava-filled pastry. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. All three pastries seemed a bit dry to me and didn't live up to the hype. I also tried their brunch offerings, which were good but nothing particularly memorable. On a positive note, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, respectful, and welcoming. The ambiance was casual and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to visit overall.

I had been on a long trek along the Riverwalk on a hot day and wanted to quench my thirst. It was mid-afternoon between normal meal times so it was quiet when I arrived. The drill is to order and pay at the counter, take a seat at one of the many tables (lots of indoor and outdoor seating), and - at least in my case - your order is brought to you. The friendly fellow who took my order also brought it to my table. Not being hungry, I just ordered an iced strawberry mocha latte. It was really tasty, like a chocolate-covered strawberry. I think that was one of their seasonal specials so not certain it's always on the menu. The little village this cute cafe is located in was fun to explore after I finished my drink. As far as coffee drinks - highly recommended.

When you walk in you have the option to do a to go order on the kiosk or stand in line to order in/to go. While in line you are in line where they hold their bakery items, smart business move as it definitely enticed me to order some baked goods! We got 2 kouign amann, one cheesecake and one strawberry. Both were so good and not overly sweet. I'll definitely get it again and try other options they have. The food is really good and tasty! I got the torta Chicken milanesa with fideo soup and hubby got the half/half salad chicken milanesa. Service was great despite it being so busy. I don't think it's the staff's fault, more a shortcoming of the kitchen setup, but it still caused a pretty significant wait. We tried to go on a Saturday morning, not realizing how popular it was, and it was a total no-go. So we ordered ahead for Sunday morning, planning to just pick up and bring food back to the house. The food was ready when we arrived, but the coffee wasn't (I don't think they have a fridge or warmer to keep drinks at the right temperature, so they don't make them until you come in to pick up.) We had to remind them that we'd ordered drinks and we ended up waiting another 20-30 minutes, our food in hand, while we waited on 3 iced coffee orders. I think the issue was a mix of crowds and kitchen layout. They were very clearly trying to make sure that the people who were seated in the restaurant were being served as well, but all of the drink orders were going through this one, tiny coffee station that frankly couldn't keep up. And I think our drink orders were basically added at the end of the drink queue when we arrived to pick up our order. We didn't get any sort of priority because we'd technically ordered ahead. We essentially skipped the line, but not the queue on drinks. All in all, I'd definitely want to visit again. The food and drinks WERE really great. I had the avocado toast with chicken and for a seemingly simple dish it was absolutely phenomenal. The abuelita's was the best of the 3 iced coffee offerings we tried, and I would definitely order again. But we'll definitely have to plan/strategize around crowds and be prepared for a long wait even if we order ahead.

Working this conference as the photographer it's my fun! So, this my reward this year. I arrived early, so it was very quiet in the bakery, but the ladies were ready with smiles, excellent attitudes, & to help out. First thing I did was warn them about the amount of people that were about to be coming in for the week. It's about to get real busy! They smiled, & said they're ready! What a positive attitude. Taking a gander at their coffee choices takes a moment. So many options. I wanted the Korean coffee, but they're out today. Good thing I'll be here all week, I'll try another day. Today, I chose a Carmel macchiato, & forgot to say sugar free. My bad. I'll be riding this sugar high for hours. And it's goooood. Then, I walked about the shop & took photos of all the amazing treats. Oh my goodness. This is when I wish I had the appetite I used to have. I want everything here. I decided on the absolutely amazing ham & cheese croissant. They warmed it up for me to absolute perfection. Biting into it, I felt like I just walked out of my bakeri back home. The ham is perfect l, its not that super thin ham that vanished when you go to eat it, and the cheese is perfectly melted inside, and the Asiago cheese on top is so yummy & adds the crunchy crispness to that perfect croissant. The croissant I'm a sucker for a good, well laminated croissant!!!! The crispness of the crust is absolute perfection. To hear the crust as you bite in, and then flake crumble is just heavenly.
