Visiting St Augustine and with two separate recommendations for Kingfish Grill, we decided to try it out for dinner. First, plenty of parking! Inside we saw it was clean and new...great design. We sat at the bar and met, Geo, our bartender. As we arrived early, 5:00 pm, he had time to connect with us ... this is why we like sitting at the bar! His drinks were excellent! For appetizers, we ordered (1) calamari which was perfectly cooked (not rubbery) and had a delicious sweet and slightly hot sauce; (2) pork dumplings..perfect and (3) 6 oysters on the half shell ..very fresh and tasty! We were filling up fast but still had room for two sushi rolls which, again, were delicious! Just looking at the dessert menu filled us up! Another thumbs up to the manager who stopped by to check in and speak with us for about 5 minutes! If we lived in St Augustine, Kingfish Grill would certainly be a regular hangout! Tried Kingfish visiting St Augustine. Brandy was a friendly server. Joe was friendly as well. The food was just ok. We split a Thai salad which we enjoyed. Crab cakes left a lot to be desired. Horseradish crusted Mahi lacked flavor. My wife's pasta sauce was really wet almost watery. read more

Kingfish Grill 504 West Geoffrey Street, St. Augustine, FL 32086 Kingfish Grill offers the convenience of plenty of parking and a polished, coastal setting that initially sets the bar high. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of those expectations. Service was the biggest drawback. We waited over 45 minutes for our food, and once it arrived, it was incomplete. I ordered the fresh catch of the day, blackened, but the accompanying Thai spicy sauce never made it to the table. My wife's poke bowl was served without enough sauce, and when we asked for extra, we were told they had already run out. Despite reminding our server, the sauces never arrived. After waiting an additional 15 minutes, we ended up finishing our meals as they cooled--still without the promised accompaniments. Sauces may seem like a small detail, but for dishes like blackened fish and poke bowls, they are essential to the overall flavor. The food itself was average. Not bad by any means, but certainly not memorable. We've had far better fish and poke bowls elsewhere, especially for a restaurant positioned as a seafood destination. The best way to describe the meal is upscale fast-casual rather than a standout dining experience. While Kingfish Grill has potential and a good location, the slow service and lack of attention to detail overshadowed the visit. With improvements in consistency and service, it could be much better--but for now, it didn't meet our expectations. read more

My husband and I have been hosting trivia here for a little over a month and we couldn't be happier. The management and employees are so friendly and welcoming to us. We make it a point to order food each night and we have NOT been disappointed. The food is fresh, vibrant, and best of all delicious! You will not be disappointed if you give Kingfish a try. My wife and I had dinner this evening. My wife went with her "go to" meal which was the seafood platter grilled. I went with the specials, I had the seafood jambalaya soup as a starter and the seafood stuffed flounder which was stuffed with shrimp, scallops and crab and topped with a sun-dried tomato cream sauce. Both of our meals were delicious. Kudos to the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal. Our experience was enhanced by our server Brandy. She was very attentive and pleasant. This popular area restaurant moved in to the former home of Black Molly Grill in the Cobblestone shopping center on 312. The interior is completely redone and feels more open and bright. This was my first visit to this eatery at any location and I had the catch of the day, which was flounder, grilled in a spicy Thai chili glaze. My companions had the chicken piccata sautéed in XVOO garlic and the half rack of St. Louis ribs. Everything was excellent and our server Brantley was prompt and helpful. it was horrible. We had a coupon for $25 off of $75, we were excited to get some fresh fish. Gator tail appetizer, unrecognizable to us, both texture and taste. we ordered swordfish. Great food. Had both lunch and dinner over the past few weeks. Penne pasta Ala Vodka was very rich, and could have had less sauce. But that's what the toasted bread is for. Inexpensive wine. This restaurant is amazing with delicious food that was so good that when my sister visited for my daughter's graduation we ate dinner there two nights in a row - everyone loved it that much! We met the Owner/Manager who told us he had recently moved the location from near the Ocean to 504 West Geoffrey Street, Saint Augustine in the Cobblestone shopping center. We had not been to the other location, but we loved this location - because it is easy to get to and parking is free and plentiful. The Owner/Manager, Paul, was the nicest guy who took the time to speak with us. The first night we had the perfect waiter (Micheal) who should probably teach a class on the most exceptional friendly service possible - Micheal's attention and attitude was simply wonderful. We so very highly recommend this beautiful restaurant with delightful ambiance and all of us thought the food was impressive, well prepared and perfect in every way. read more

My wife and I decided to spend our 49th anniversary at one of the local establishments. It took us a while to decide because there are so many exceptional restaurants in St. Augustine. We finally opted for the Kingfish grill in its new location. It was a great choice. The interior has been completely redone from the Black Molly setup, and it is more spacious and a little less noisy. The food was superb and Dayna our server was the best. For a local establishment it ranks right up there with the Black Molly, the Black Fly, Neds, Schooners, Fish and Oyster House and the Grouper shack. Definitely a place for locals to check out and enjoy. read more

Wanted to love the Happy Hour experience but were disappointed. Appetizers @ $10 each were tasty but too small a portion to satisfy. Did not offer 2 for 1 happy hour drinks. Black Molly's far exceeds in this aspect - people want to feel a value impact. Because of this, it did not have a happy hour "vibe" - it was half empty at 4:30 pm. I think with better portions and pricing during Happy Hour it would draw more people in. My brother had an incredible entree but not everyone wants that. I wish them every success because it's beautiful inside and with some tweaks could be packed everyday. Will not return. read more

Absolutely love this place. I am so glad Kingfish moved to a more accessible location for most of us living or staying in St Augustine. They took over the space that Black Molly was in previously. The new Black Molly space is loud and the tables are packed together. It is hard to enjoy dinner when you cannot hear the people you are dining with at Black Molly so the new Kingfish Grill has been a welcomed addition to the area for anyone looking for a great dining experience. The Kingfish renovation is modern and tasteful. Plenty of parking. The food is great - fresh seafood, tasty specials and amazing sushi. I encourage all locals and visitors try this place. It is in our family's regular rotation of restaurants. read more

A delightful holiday adult beverage menu includes 'White Christmas." Alison pampered us on our first visit to their newly transformed venue (former location of Black Molly) near BEALS department store. The new decor is upscale immaculate with ample seating at a well-stocked bar. Seating is disability-friendly ( I parked my Rollator next to the Christmas tree. On our second visit both Joe (friendly manager who knows Kingfish Grill) and Alex were helpful describing specials, mains, and the dessert menu. My DC and I sampled the flourless chocolate cake on our first visit and crème brullee on our second. Both were wonderful! My DC had the grilled scallop, shrimp and mahi combo,, which he enjoyed. I ha sea scallops with sautéed spinach. Choices of sides is a plus (one is red beans and rice. A real holiday gift certificate deal includes $ gift certificates. Kingfish Grill is located in the Cobblestone Shopping Center, where Black Molly had previously been. The building was beautifully renovated with a spacious, uncrowded look. My Husband ordered a pasta dish that was heavy on the pasta, which was a good thing because everyone else needed some of his pasta, which he said was weak in the taste of the sauce, to add to their dishes. I had read a review raving about the Chicken Picatta and was about to order it, though I wasn't very hungry, so two of us shared it. Not big enough to share, but very tasty. One of us had Sushi and found it too HOT to eat. The waiter was very good, but the long wait between courses could only be attributed to a problem in the kitchen. There was even a wait for dessert, which was preplated. The cocktail from the bar was also disappointing. I asked for an Old Fashioned to be made with Bourbon. It also fell flat. I would like to say I'll give them a second try, but I'll wait and see some reviews after mine. read more
