Five stars doesn't even come close to describing this wonderful bakery experience. I am from a large family who love to gather over food and fun. The first time we had a cake from Creme de la Cocoa, it was lemon blueberry for my Mom's birthday. From then on, "good enough" wouldn't do. The cakes from this boutique bakery are exquisite works of art that taste absolutely divine. We've had vanilla cake with white chocolate between the layers and fresh strawberries for Easter, exquisitely decorated with whipped cream frosting and fresh spring flowers, a birthday cake for my mother that said HAPPY BIRTHDAY HURRICANE PEGGY with a hurricane and warning markers bc her birthday is the first day of hurricane season that was Florida Native, featuring summer fruits and orange zest in the frosting, and the latest for Labor Day that will be a classic carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and Fall decor that will say HAPPY FALL, Y'ALL! We've had their French macarons in every color and flavor, their charcuterie box for my husband's birthday which featured sweets of every kind in white and dark chocolate, and their homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. We have come to love St. Augustine Florida. One our first visit here we found this bakery as it was near the house we rented. During that initial stay, I walked here a couple of times to pick up treats and they didn't disappoint. Since then it has become a go-to when we have guests visiting and want to have dessert on hand. It is a pretty interior space with desserts and treats galore. They are beautifully made and a treat for all your senses. The staff on my visits have always been so friendly and helpful. (I love the southern hospitality we experience at so many places in St. Augustine.) My favorite treat may just be the cannoli. They are smaller sized than what I am used to back home...but this is good thing! in my opinion. There are an assortment of chocolates, brownies, cookies, some candies, croissants...and a variety of cakes and pies. We are not huge sweets eaters but this place is hard to resist. read more

Every item is visually stunning and looks so delicious, it's hard to pick just one to take home (which is why we got multiple options). The stand outs were the pumpkin flavored desserts including the cheesecake. They were so flavorful, I kept going for more. When I started to order cake, they were so friendly and asked me with all menu to decide and asked them to make a horse into foundation on cake. I ordered a gluten free/dairy free cake for me & my husbands wedding anniversary based on the amazing reviews left online. Upon pickup, the service was wonderful, gave us instructions on how to handle & service the cake properly. And the shop has beautiful decor to match. But I was only able to tolerate one bite of a $50 cake. It was overly dry, extremely sweet and not something I ever want to taste again. Crème de la Cocoa is an elevated bake shop experience in Saint Augustine. Not only are the baked good delicious, they are art. You may go in with the intention of "just looking" but you'll come out with something. The first time, I purchased the Nutella cookie with crème in the middle. It was amazing, I was tempted to get it again. Then I passed the cake window and saw the Southern Belle. A fantastic creation of thinly chocolate-covered Pecan pie with white chocolate mousse topping. Pecan pie is super sweet, it's why I love it. The addition of the white chocolate mousse balances it perfectly. One of the best desserts I've had. The shop is clean, the displays beautiful and the staff always welcoming and eager to serve. I highly recommend you make the drive just out of town to give this amazing bakery a try. read more

Also Bailey truly cares for her customers and offered to have a new complimentary fresh strawberry shortcake for me on 12/31 (even though they were not open for business)... wow, this was so kind and thoughtful of her!! This is one of those places that you may think you'll stop in and only check them out, maybe do a little window shopping, well once you enter this space you ain't leaving emptied handed - there is something for everyone here no matter your taste be it sweet or savory. All my senses immediately went to DEFCON 1, there was no way I was leaving without a bag of goodies - the truffles are amazing (like no other), the cheese cakes in a cup is a must try (my favorite to date "blueberry") on the savory side who could resist the fresh baked crusty croissants (not me). Well I could of spent more time here exploring their offerings but I thought I had purchased a pretty good cross-section of what was on display. The prices here I feel are reasonable, I mean you are buying "edible art", the staff was wonderful and everything is packaged in beautiful containers that will protect whatever you buy until you reach your destination or in my case until the sampling began after I reached my vehicle. Every year a friend of mine buys a vegan cake from here for her daughter's birthday. Nothing about vegan sounds appealing to me, however the vegan cakes from here are by far my absolute favorite. They are moist and dense, full of flavor. They are a little pricey which is why for my children's birthday I don't buy their birthday cakes from there. But I would say if you are willing to spend the money, the cakes are worth the price. I don't even know where to start my review with Creme' de la cocoa. First off, I have not heard of this place until recently when I was searching for bakeries to do our wedding cake and I'm so glad we went this route. I emailed them in regards to making an appointment and they are quick to respond which I love! They make is super easy to book the appointment and choose what flavors we wanted to try. They charge $5 each flavor you wanted to try and that $5 is sooooo worth it! I was super excited on the day of our cake tasting since I love sweets! Creme de la cocoa is located on the other side of St. Augustine, I will say the calmer part lol they have enough parking spot which is really great for St. Augustine. When you come inside, I was a very happy girl! I think my eyes has hearts everywhere because the moment you step in you will see all the baked goods prepared in the middle of the store. on the corner side you will see their other products that they sell and they did an amazing job putting everything together. I couldn't focus at that moment because I wanted to see everything and try everything!! Employees was very friendly too! Then our tasting happened. We went to their private room which was so cute because they have the display of their cakes! We met Nick, owner and chef of the bakery. He introduced himself and we can tell that he is a wonderful person, then he brought a big tray of our cake sample and I kid you not! I want to have all the flavors lol it was good! all of the cakes was moist and the icing was a perfect combination. He even gave us a sample of their oatmeal cookie sandwich and we ended up ordering that as well for our reception. all in all, our experience here was indeed amazing. yes, it is a little bit pricey but there's a reason why, they are the best! now i wouldn't mind doing the drive to our house to st. augustine because of this bakery! if you are around this area or not this bakery is definitely a must try! they deserve 100x stars! read more

We selected a couple to share at $8 each, a Key Lime Pie topped with fresh berries and white chocolate and a slice of Bananas Foster cake. Both delicious. All desserts are decorated with toppings that are immaculately placed on each pie, cake and dessert. Came back here since I was craving some chocolate croissant. I ended up getting the regular, and the almond croissant too. They weren't open yet since I was a few minutes early but they were wonderful enough to let me in and serve. Croissants are made on Fridays and Saturdays ONLY, so I lucked out. I've had a variety of these croissants from grocery kinds, to Costco, to some mom and pop bakeries, and random streets in Paris. The croissant lived up to their gourmet quality reputation. It did NOT disappoint at all. The almond croissant had the almond paste filling from my every bite, roasted sliced almonds were crispy and went well with the airy, crispy outside and chewy inside perfectly buttery baked croissant. Switching over to the chocolate croissant, this too had the dark chocolate evenly distributed filling that you won't miss from every bite. Just imagine that. It was slightly glaze on the outside that made it crispy enough but not the messy kind, and chewy enough to enjoy it with almost a quarter in an inch rich dark chocolate in each bite. This is the first time in years that I've had a croissant moaning after every bite. LoL (true story) If you're the simple croissant type of fellow, the plain croissant also had that buttery taste that was flaky and airy. The size is also bigger in size but a tad dense, making it a filling one. My experience was great from letting me in early, serving it right out of their oven, plus my cravings for it. AMAZING!!!! I honestly wish I had never walked into this amazing little slice of heaven because I am not suppose to eat sugar, but their desserts were so tempting I just couldn't help myself!! The young ladies working at the counter were super friendly, nice, and helpful. I had Crème de la Cocoa recommended to me by my florist (angela'sflorals) for my wedding. I am so thankful that she did because everyone was such a pleasure to work with, especially Talia! I had to shift my wedding date around several times due to the military, and they were so patient and kind with me through it all. They created the most BEAUTIFUL wedding cake and an amazing groom's cake for our wedding. Not only this, but the flavors were absolutely amazing.
