I had the blackened red snapper sandwich with asparagus and it was pretty solid! Service was super slow for some reason. Took a while to get a server, even longer for a drink from the bar and the entrees took quite a while too. Everyone enjoyed their food though.

Came down for a girls brunch - nothing caught my eye on the brunch menu, so I went with lunch. It was good but not great. Got the shrimp po'boy. We walked in at 10:28 apparently, to the hostess telling us they weren't open for 2 more minutes, so that was awkward might want to keep the doors locked? I waited outside until 10:30 . I didn't order the brunch menu because no sides were listed on the menu- my friends ordered brunch and they all came with home fries - would have been good to know. Also the avocado toast literally had 2 small slivers of avocado on it. Wasn't worth the $30 bill after adding a Diet Coke too, so i don't plan to come back for brunch.

Great ambiance and friendly staff! We sat outdoors and enjoyed the water view while we dined. All four of us absolutely loved our meals. There were crab cakes, pasta, oyster deviled eggs, lobster bisque, and grilled shrimp. The sides were just as good! Our server was friendly, professional and checked on us often. All four of us can't wait to return and try their many options and delectable sounding meals!

Great service, great food, spent too much $$ ;). Neat atmosphere, but was raining so couldn't dine outside. Pain Killer drink very good. Yummy crab legs, fish, scallops, gator bites, coleslaw, sweet potatoes.

The Boathouse St. Augustine 160 Nix Boat Yard Rd, St. Augustine, FL 32084 Perched along the intracoastal waterway, The Boathouse St. Augustine captures everything you want from a true Florida waterfront dining experience--fresh flavors, relaxed elegance, and views that linger long after the meal is over. With marsh grasses swaying, boats gliding by, and sunsets painting the sky in soft golds and pinks, this is the kind of place where time naturally slows down. The menu strikes a beautiful balance between coastal classics and creative flair. Fresh seafood is the star, whether it's expertly prepared crab cakes, pristine raw bar selections, or thoughtfully crafted sushi that rivals many dedicated sushi spots. Each dish arrives vibrant, fresh, and full of flavor, clearly made with care rather than shortcuts. Vegetarian options are equally well-considered, ensuring there's something satisfying for every palate. Weekend brunch adds another layer of appeal, making it a destination from morning to night. The expansive outdoor deck--with its inviting fire pit--sets the tone for easygoing sophistication, while live music and a well-stocked full bar keep the atmosphere lively without ever feeling overwhelming. Service is polished yet warm, attentive without hovering, and genuinely welcoming--exactly what you hope for in a place that sees both locals and visitors alike. With ample parking, excellent food, and consistently great service, The Boathouse isn't just a meal--it's an experience. Whether you're stopping in for sunset cocktails, a seafood-forward dinner, or a laid-back brunch by the water, this St. Augustine gem delivers every time.

Great food. Great service and a great view of the water. The things we tried that were amazing - hush puppies with jam (onion forward hush puppy), Brussel sprouts (spicy) with goat cheese, caramelized bacon and onions and sausage, spring rolls, and lobster bisque. Things that were ok- lobster roll, salad with salmon. Would for sure return

Had a wonderful dinner at the Boathouse. Sat outside and started with the Sangrias and the chargrilled oysters. Although there was a few small shell pieces in the oysters they were very good. We then had the gator tails, very tender and good. The special of the day was 20 shrimp and a side. We ordered them blackened with the asparagus and split it. Plenty of food. We also ordered the hush puppies with jam. Great as a dessert. Makayla was our sever and was outstanding. The manager checked on us at least twice. Loved our experience!

We ate outside on their patio which had a firepit, strung lights and great vibes. I got the lobster roll which was good quality but I feel like the lobster itself was cold and not hot. The Salmon wonton taco surprised me on how much I liked it. One thing that was disappointing was we got bloody marys and mimosas, but were not told they were bottomless till we got our check. I feel like they should've told us this when we sat down/received our first drink. If I were in St. Augustine again I would come back since the food was good and the patio was cute. I would recommend coming here for a nice brunch!

The deck is very nice but it started raining so we moved inside. Service was decent, the gin cocktail was very good. We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was dismal. So oversalted and contained 80% banana pepper 20% calamari. Almost inedible. We got the seafood boil and a shrimp & grits. The boil was delicious and I think it could feed 3. The shrimp and grits was too salty and too cheesy. I'm my opinion, onions and peppers detract from the dish. Overall would not recommend.

Are the raccoons still by the patio? Loved that about Creekside Diner but don't know if they stayed.

I've been there multiple times over the past few months and I've seen no raccoons. I haven't always been seated overlooking the creek, but when I was, no raccoons

We've even talked about going back to St. Augustine so we can spend more time here. We ordered a few baskets and were absolutely shocked, in a good way, about the portion size for the price. Also, the wait time on the food was very short. The cocktail sauce is absolutely delicious, kinda spicy, which is perfect, and all the seafood was super fresh. The gumbo was amazing. It was kinda hard to get a good table outside, but worth the wait. People stand around your table waiting for you to get up, which is kinda annoying, but I get it.

They were courteous, accommodating, and handled every interaction with a positive attitude. This review is in no way directed at them. Unfortunately, the food itself was among the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in recent memory. Our table sampled a substantial portion of the menu. We began with the appetizers: ahi tuna, gator tail, bang bang shrimp, corn nuggets, and smoked fish dip. The ahi tuna was significantly overcooked and carried a pronounced freezer-burned flavor. The gator tail suffered from the same issue. The bang bang shrimp consisted of what tasted like frozen shrimp covered in sauce, with little else to distinguish it. The corn nuggets were actually quite enjoyable and were easily the highlight of the appetizer selection. The smoked fish dip was particularly underwhelming. Its texture was excessively mushy, and despite a heavy dusting of smoked paprika on top, it lacked any notable depth of flavor. It felt as though the seasoning was intended to compensate for an otherwise uninspired dish, but unfortunately it did not succeed. For our entrées, I ordered the "fresh catch" of the day, advertised as blackened triggerfish. Whatever fish was served, I am highly confident it was not triggerfish. The texture was rubbery, the flavor was dominated by what again tasted like freezer burn, and no amount of seasoning could disguise it. The accompanying fries were mediocre, and the mac and cheese was bland and tasted as though it had been prepared well in advance rather than made fresh. My brother ordered the blackened grouper, and his experience was no better. The fish was overcooked, dry, and carried the same freezer-burned quality. Blackening seasoning can enhance good seafood, but it cannot rescue fish that has already been compromised. My girlfriend ordered the crab cakes. Predictably, they suffered from the exact same issue. At this point, a pattern had clearly emerged. I am genuinely puzzled by the restaurant's repeated use of the word "fresh," because nearly every seafood item we received tasted as though it had spent far too long in a freezer. Hoping the cocktails would redeem the evening, we ordered a Key Lime Piña Colada. What arrived tasted like watered-down pineapple juice with an aggressive pour of rum. Assuming it was simply a mistake or an off batch, we politely asked to exchange it for the Spicy Guava Margarita, which the staff graciously accommodated. Unfortunately, the replacement was somehow worse. It was, without exaggeration, one of the worst margaritas I have ever been served. My girlfriend described it as tasting like someone scrubbed a grill, added hot sauce, and then emptied an entire bottle of bottom-shelf tequila into the glass. While colorful, it was a surprisingly accurate assessment. By the end of the meal, the overwhelming impression was that nearly every seafood item served had either been mishandled, improperly stored, overcooked, or some combination of the three. The experience was especially disappointing given the restaurant's coastal location and the expectation of quality seafood that naturally comes with it. Our bill totaled approximately $156. For that price, I expected fresh seafood, competent preparation, and cocktails that were at least drinkable. Instead, we left hungry enough to stop elsewhere for food on the drive home. Once again, the staff were excellent. They were kind, professional, and did everything they reasonably could. Unfortunately, good service alone cannot overcome food of this quality. In all honesty, this was the worst seafood dining experience I have personally had, regardless of price point. I cannot recommend The Grouper Shack based on our visit. Save your money, and if you're heading home afterward, you may find yourself doing exactly what we did: stopping elsewhere for dinner.

Catch 27 - St. Augustine, FL…read more Came to St. Augustine with a group and Catch 27 was suggested for dinner. Great choice. I checked the Yelp reviews ahead of time and it definitely lived up to them. People in our group started with drinks and everyone at the table seemed happy with what they ordered. I had the red wine braised beef brisket for my main and it was excellent, very tender and full of flavor. My friend Damon next to me had the red snapper and I tried some of that too. Also very good. Someone else at the table had the Rockefeller crusted snapper and that looked and tasted great as well. For appetizers, I had the shaved pear and blue cheese salad. It was really good and honestly enough for two people to share as an appetizer. People at the table also ordered the Devils on Horseback and liked them. I do not eat bacon, but they were happy with that dish. The deviled eggs with southern fried oysters looked really good, and I had the smoked salmon spread, which was very good too. I also saw the shrimp and grits come out for someone else and that dish looked excellent. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding and it was a strong finish to the meal. Others at the table ordered the seasonal crème brûlée, which was chocolate that night. It looked great and everyone who had it said it was very good. Sunny was our waitress and she did an exceptional job. Attentive, kind, and on top of everything the whole night. In my mind this is about a 4.7 star experience, and I am rounding it up to a full 5 stars. Catch 27 is a great choice in St. Augustine.

There was no one at hostess stand because system was down and they were having troubles which I felt bad for the hostess who seemed stressed on obviously a busy night. They were out of both of the entrees we wanted, which was unfortunate but I ended up getting the catch beurre blanc and it was delicious. I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Would love to try it again on a regular night and hopefully they have the entrees we wanted to try:)
