Years ago I would have given this established vet team 5 stars. Now, I'd give them 2 at best. They are slow to return messages, doctor doesn't accurately note chart requiring a second visit to get diagnosis again, days before can get in when pet is in pain (even tho the first appt was to establish my pets after moving back here), extremely high prices compared to vets in both Kansas and Florida, plus the inconvenience of no e-script service! If your dog winds up on medication long term, don't forget to ASK for a paper prescription because they don't voluntarily do that- I'm sure they want the consumer paying the high prices at the office. You have to get a Rx and snail mail it via USPS to Chewy or take to Sam's Club if you want reasonably priced medications. The vet my dogs saw could care less about them- my impression. I am now looking for something better in Kingman...if it exists. read more

Updated review. I went back to Kingman Animal Hospital with my kitty. She was having difficulty defecating. I was booked an appointment with Dr Miracle. She's anything but. Over $500 later, my cat got an enema and they sent us home. I can't afford this place any more. Dr Miracle is impersonal, didn't explain things to me and didn't seem interested in anything but her fees. Very disappointing after the great experience with Dr Erika Angone. This place is so out of touch with average Animal lovers! Most of us here have multiple fur-babies... their prices are outrageous! We have 3 dogs & 2 cats- all rescues! Moved to Kingman from NorCal. We didn't have very good vet care after our long time vet for over a decade retired. We needed our 4 cats / 1 basset to be seen and catch up on shots - exams etc. This practice is FANTASTIC!! Reception is warm, friendly and RESPONSIVE!! The vet techs are caring and empathetic ...knowledgeable and friendly. Both Dr. Angone and Dr. Miracle are FABULOUS! We've seen both doctors for our pets and both are extremely knowledgeable and give excellent prognosis and care. I like how thorough they are and answer questions with confidence and straight-forwardness. The bills have been reasonable (compared to the exorbitant rates paid in Northern CA) and we are very happy we have found a great vet practice! read more

We came to Kingman Animal Hospital as our senior dog, Sophie, was not responding to medical treatment. As it was a Sunday, KAH was the facility that our veterinarian referred us to. As Sophie's breathing worsened, we knew it was time for her to cross the Rainbow Bridge. We knew it would be hard to let her go, but it was the best decision for her. Heather and Dr. Erika were incredible. They were kind, compassionate, and understanding of our needs and how hard it was to say goodbye to our girl. They let us spend as much time with her as we needed to say goodbye. Sophie crossed over the bridge on January 12, and today, we returned to KAH to pick up her ashes. She came home in a beautiful wooden box in a velvet pouch with a clay paw print and a framed photo of her print. Dr Angone is the absolute BEST veterinarian in Kingman, AZ. She is kind, caring, and compassionate. She takes the time with you and your pet even when she doesn't have the time, which is truly remarkable. She treats your pet as if they were her own and my family and I have taken many pets into Dr Angone and she never waivers on her phenomenal care. Previously, I would have given them a 4 star. However, they mixed up our two cats and the cat they deemed "healthy" was the one that had an enlarged heart and wound up having to drag herself by her two front paws because of this untreated condition. We are very lucky she has thus far survived. In order for the Dr to do the surgery they had to come up with $1000 more dollars on top of over the $600 Sara gave them that night. So Sara started looking for donations to keep Baby Girl alive. Mind you the vet gav her a breakdown of the bill that it would cost to go thru with Baby Girls treatment. Sara was able to get almost $3000 Together from her n her husband n many of donations. One lady sent $1000 directly to the vet along with other donations. All for Baby Girl not to make it. They never returned the money that was to go towards Baby Girls account. This Animal Hospital is out for your last dollar not what's best for your animals needs. WOW my regular vet was closed early friday, and my pup had something bothering her eye so I went to this place just to have someone take a quick look, it's like 1:30 and they said very snidely "oh there isn't a doctor here and won't be of a couple hours, your a walk in," I said what's the difference? "it will be $75." They weren't the slightest bit interested in what the problem was with my pup, it could have been a problem that needed immediate care, but their attitude was sorry can't help ya beat it ! I can tell you this, I'll never step foot in this place again period ! On the way out my pup peed on their doorstep, I felt a little better after that, good girl ! You know I understand a business needing to make money but that was just ridiculous, and I felt like they couldn't care less. Not possible to give zero stars. Took our healthy 4 year old dog for routine teeth cleaning and she died before her cleaning could start. Things went from bad to worse starting with the initial phone call from the vet office telling us our dog was receiving CPR. Once we arrived at the office we were treated with indifference, at best. The vet didnt even have the decency to come out personally to let us know the dog was dead. I called to see if I can bring in my dog because her right back leg was bothering her. The receptionist said give me a minute and then asked the doctor and then she came back a few minutes later and said we can squeeze her in tomorrow at 11:30 I said OK so I got there about 15 minutes early and they took me in right away and the doctor came in the room checked her out and said I would like to do a couple x-rays to make sure she's OK and I said that was fine. He told me to pick her up around three so I was there a little early and the doctor she was fine and said it was a soft tissue injury. Came in with my roommate for a puppy vaccine visit that turned into more. The staff was very informative, knowledgeable and kind. The hospital has been very clean every time we walk in, smells fresh and the staff always looks busy. In a hospital that big I'm sure there's always ton to do. I was also very happy to see they are AHAA accredited which is a huge relief! The vet told us to keep an eye on our baby instead of pushing us to do unnecessary things. I don't know if a lot of the staff changed, or just the doctor. They used to CARE about animals and now (Dec 2022), they only care about $$$$. I had what was an emergency and when I called for an appointment, they didn't say a word AND scheduled me for the nearest appointment 5 days later. My cat's emergency wasn't yet an emergency, but given the fact that he wasn't eating, I believe IF they cared whatsoever, they could've told me to make sure he eats, even if I had to syringe feed him to PREVENT fatty liver disease, which has a poor prognosis and would've cost thousands of dollars to save him instead of letting me be ignorant and not doing something that could've prevented that condition. So, 5 days later when my appointment came, that was the diagnosis. It cost me $65 for the exam + $160 for bloodwork + $25 for them to hold him for 4 hours during lunchtime hours before letting me pick him up. The whole thing cost me $250 just for that day. The doc wanted to do xrays for another $250, but I have been so broke, that $250 was all I had, unfortunately, so i couldn't afford to have it done, even though I wanted to. Either way, I'll say it again. IF they cared one inkling for people's animals, they wouldn't ONLY BE GEARED TO CARE UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF MONEY TO SPEND and would still care about an animal enough to let people know what they could do in the time BEFORE their visit or IF what the pet owner is saying about their pet is an emergency or POTENTIAL emergency. After my appointment, I took him home and immediately began syringe feedings. About a week into it, my cat was having a hard time having bowel movements. It was after hours and I called the emergency number and connected to a woman who was MORE THAN KIND and DID tell me to try canned pumpkin (sugar free) as it's known to be helpful. After about another 3-4 days it wasn't working, so I called the vet's office and the response I received about a laxative (hoping to find out if there was an over the counter) was, "Unless I get the xray done, the doc won't give me any information (maybe they said can't, but still the same. The xray was definitely mentioned). Oh yes, unless I have the $250 and/or more $$$ for add'l tests beyond that, which I didn't, who cares, right? Just like NOT telling me that if a cat doesn't eat for more than 24 hours, they can go into liver failure. Since I was hit with the I don't care unless you have the money to run the expensive tests attitude, I did a whole lot of searching online and DID find a retired vet that has a website that gives you a free downloadable PDF book of pet issues and how to treat them at home and a lot of PREVENTATIVE measures to take beforehand so your animal doesn't go into having a serious, even deadly situation. Look up veterinary secrets by Dr. Jones, DVM, a wholistic vet. I sincerely appreciate his efforts to actually HELP animals and care. If you have a question, there is a contact button on his website and he or his team WILL respond, even with helpful links to help you help your pet. I only wish I contacted him sooner than I did, as I just had my precious baby die in my arms yesterday morning at 5 years old and right before his 6th birthday. That is young for cats, as they typically live 15+ years. Now, all in all, I'm not saying the staff is bad. Maybe they didn't know, but I do know the lady who took my call for the appointment said during the conversation that she worked there a long time. Still doesn't mean she knew. So, WHY NOT educate staff on symptoms that can be emergencies and tell their customers what they can do to prevent it (like in my case just making sure my cat eats)???? The bottom line is that WHOEVER IS RUNNING THE SHOW doesn't want people to know, as that's $$$$$$ to be made. I really don't care that they now have all this high-tech equipment such as the front staff having headphones to communicate with the people in the back OR that they have tablets to take pictures of your animal, etc. Yes, I get that costs money and they need to make money to pay the staff and for the equipment, but when it become the #1 focus (making money) ABOVE taking care of animals, even for those who can't afford it, then that is what makes it a 1 star. Money, money, money SHOULD NOT be the #1 focus of any healthcare, but it unfortunately seems to be thesedays. RIP my sweet baby cat. read more

We just moved out to Mohave Valley and our 12 year old multi-poo was constipated and acting like she was in pain and really struggling to "go." We called around and tried to find a veterinarian local to our new home. The Mohave valley veterinarians were not taking "new Patients". After several calls and no luck to have our fur baby seen, one of them referred us to Kingman Animal hospital. I called them and Jen got us right in. We were sooooo grateful!! We had to drive almost an hour and half to get there, but it was worth it!! The staff super friendly and Dr Wright was wonderful! I received great care on January 27th by Dr. Wright and the Tech Eloisa for Baby girl. It was an ER appointment and they quoted me did everything they were suppose to do, unfortunately the next morning when I went to make sure I was suppose to have 1,000 before 12 pm. I had many donations from friends and my goal was met. They kept taking and insisting more money from me before my dogs surgery, which was NOT the estimate agreement. Jen in the front kept pushing and my desperation I kept paying! Never again will I allow this to happen to me. I had to let our less than two year old baby pass during surgery. I'm not upset about the care, I'm upset that my friends and I got taken advantage of. one of my 1,000 dollar donate-rs was suppose to be baby girl account only money and they talked her into a write off not knowing they would apply my money first then hers and everyone else. They have a foundation that Ruby Ducy co-owner is on and that is where the 1000 and all other donations went. I feel if your raising money and your friends are saying baby girl account ONLY that is where it stays. Weather it was intended or not which I believe it was. they made me feel like they didn't care about my sick baby they just cared about how much money they could pull in from me and keep raising prices. Ruby Ducy the co-owner loves to argue with everyone on FB when they write a complain about Kingman animal hospital, which is very unprofessional. BE Ware if your friends want to help you out have them zelle you the money. do NOT set up an account at the practice. I still owe my donater 1,000 so I am paying for someone else pet because the kept my money. Not only did I loose baby girl I am in the worst financial struggle. Kingman Animal Hospital [ KHA] is amazing. Our 7 year old lab was in serious pain and after calling our clinic in Lake Havasu City to get in that day could not accommodate us. After calling all of the clinics in LHC and Yuma, we found this clinic that would work us in. KHA is much more reasonably priced than LHC and the staff is great. My friend had a pet that needed emergency surgery. She was asked for more money beyond the highest estimate she was given. She had a very generous donor who was talked into donating to a foundation nstead of paying on the bill like she wanted to do. The foundation is conveniently affiliated with the owner/employee that works there and she votes on how the monies are used. My friend should have had her bill taken care of first with donations before she had any out of pocket expenses. She has not asking for the left over donation just for her bill to reflect the donations she received. This place rips off people who are in dispair over their sick beloved pet. read more

We adopted a dog from local Animal Shelter, our regular vet was too booked to see him, we didn't want to wait because he kept licking his paw and we thought something was wrong. When making the appointment we stated we had a free visit from the shelter, but he did have something else going on. We were told that anything above the wellness exam we would have to cover, which we are OK with. Upon arriving for the appointment, we reiterated that we understand the wellness exam was free, anything above that we would pay, she said yes. We go in exam room, check him, they suggest blood work and he did have some skin rash on his paws. Will get lab results in a day and got antibiotics for that. When we go to check out they are telling us that we have to pay for a full exam. I explain we already checked when we called, this is what they told us, the girl who made the appointment was there and said yes this is what she said. They check with the manager and she decides to give us a 20% discount on the exam . There are so many people in the office, we pay it, of course over $400, do not cause a scene. Facebook messenger the animal hospital when I get home, they are sorry for the miscommunication and will counsel their staff. They knew from the beginning of making the appointment, that this wasn't going to be a wellness visit, per their policy and they were going to be charging us. We reply, cause there wasn't any miscommunication on our part, but still no response. It's not about the money, it's about how many other people that adopt, get a free visit and then they charge for the exam. read more

Our kitty Maggie recently started having trouble walking. Her hind legs kept giving out and she could only walk a step or two before she laid on the floor. She also had trouble peeing and pooping. We called 3 Vets before one would even make an appointment to see her, two weeks in the future. The next day she seemed worse and we called Kingman Animal Hospital. They saw her early the next day and kept her for xrays and observation. Turned out she had 3 herniated discs that were affecting her nervous system. The Doc sent her home with meds for pain and inflammation of the herniated discs. Took her back a week later and she was markedly improved. She's getting better every day now! I was faced with a very hard decision of having to put down my cat at a young age, but Kingman animal hospital made it as easy as something like it could be From the second that I called Kingman animal hospital they were so kind. Once we arrived at the vets office The vet tech Nancy showed us back to a room that was very welcoming and comforting. With soft acustic music playing, calming candle and soft blankets and chairs. They let us get settled for a minute and then Nancy came back and got my cat to place an IV and get me a sweet paw print. Once they brought her back Dr. Wright came in and explained everything to us and what the exspect. He was so kind and gentle with our cat. They told us that we could take as long as we needed and they had a door that we could walk out so we didn't have to go back through the lobby. I thought my dog was going to have a stool sample tested. Turns out they also took a urine sample, which I found out the next day (Saturday) after he came down with a raging urinary tract infection. I called only to be informed that there was no doctor available on that weekend. No one who could prescribe or provide antibiotics. I understand that mistakes happen, but the final straw was Dr. Angone denying that the UTI happened at the clinic (despite the fact that he'd never had one in his 15 years) and leaving me on the hook for the subsequent bills to pay for fixing it. read more

On March 19, 2017 we brought our baby girl Kiska to the emergency clinic, we lost her that morning at age 14.5 years old... We paid to have her ashes returned to us, the tech asked us if we also wanted her paw print and we said yes. Today March 30th we went to pick her up and low and behold no paw print...
